“Top notch intuitive sitter with a keen eye for my dog's unique mental and physical wellbeing. I feel confident in her ability to provide the care and support for my Dog with a severe food allergy. I was also pleased that her partner also was aligned with providing a watchful eye for her too.”

“Michael took amazing care of my dog, sending tons of pictures and videos of him having a great time playing in the huge yard with the other dogs and going for walks. I will absolutely be boarding Darcy with Michael again.”

About: I have been raising and caring for Dogs/Cats, and many other animals my entire life! I grew up on a farm in rural Michigan and always had multiple pets and responsibilities to the care of those animals! I’m currently Active duty in the Navy, and am an avid runner/hiker! My house has a big grassy patch that your pet would love to run around in ! I live in a house in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of grass and free space and live a short walk from a dog park so all the zoomies can be taken care for animals of any size !
“Elaine is great! She was very nice to my old boy, and sent me pictures of him during his stay. Hopefully she will have space for him next time, as I will have no issues coming back again and again.”
About: I’ve had dogs since I was ten years old and love getting to know them. I will be their calm and confident leader. Safety is my top priority (with fun being close behind) I will tailor each visit to the individual pet depending on their needs and personality. I run with my dog Daisy 4-6 miles a day and would love to adventure with yours! I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! Beginning in the Fall I will be available every Wednesday & Thursday morning for walks/jogs. As of now I am available for boardings anytime. For walks and jogs I am currently available at various times throughout the week. We are diligent about keeping our doors shut for our pets safety. Our dog has a long leash she can use in order to explore our backyard whenever she wants. I am adaptable and happy to follow each owner’s specific requirements for their home and keep the pets safety as my top priority.
“We had both our dogs stay overnight to help them acclimate for a longer vacation we’re taking soon. Amanda did a great job of slowly introducing our dogs to hers and providing us with updates on how our dogs were doing. Looking forward to having her watch our dogs during our vacation.”

“Jael was a great Rover find and we will definitely book her for future stays! We received regular updates and photos while we were gone. Gus got lots of attention from Jael and her family (as seen in photos). We are happy to have found a new Rover home for Gus. Thank you Jael and family!”

“We couldn’t ask for better care for Coco while we are gone! From the many videos to excellent communication - we know Coco is in great hands ❤️❤️❤️ We highly recommend Sheri and Bill❤️❤️”

“My older one hesitant and one with separation anxiety, did well with Sherri. It was 4th of July and the fireworks made every one nervous. She was good about sending messages and photos of the girls to me every day. We where happy and will use her services again. ”

“Jamie was excellent with Dexter! With all the pictures that were sent, I knew without a doubt that he was loved and being taken care of. He even seemed depressed and sad to leave! Will definitely book again!”

“Kevin and Mandy were awesome with my little dog, Leo! We did a meet and greet where I could tell my dog felt comfortable in their space and around their cats… then during my trip, they texted me photos of naps and adventures…I was secretly worried Leo wouldn’t want to come home 😂 I could tell Leo had a blast and was in good hands. So grateful and will definitely book a Leo “vacay” again as the need arises 🙏”

“Mila was so sweet to my senior pup Charlie! This was my first time boarding him with anyone. We FaceTimed before hand which reassured me that Charlie was in good hands, she took notes regarding special routine things he needed and while on my trip Mila sent photo updates that put my mind at ease. Charlie was loved and well taken care of, going to Milas made him feel like a part of the family ! We’ve pre booked with her again and I know Charlie is looking forward to it !”

“My dogs mean everything to me and it can be difficult to find a dog sitter who understands the assignment. Allison understood the assignment. My girls are 10 years apart in age are different in temperament and personality. To me, it doesn’t take a lot to care for them but I never know if that is different in the eyes of the sitter. Allison welcomed them both into her home and cared for them just as I would. She provided updates and photos throughout the stay. She was also flexible in drop off time as I had a brain fart when initially booking the stay. I will definitely choose Allison again for future stays!”

“Clay was an amazing host. He sent regular updates/pictures and was very flexible when I needed to adjust my drop-off and pickup times. Maggie and Arthur loved their stay. Will definitely be boarding with Clay again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Harbor
This was 15 month old Annebelle’s first boarding experience and she was nervous and cautious. Sarah met us at the door, got down to Annebelle’s level to greet her, and slowly introduced her to new surroundings. We could see Annebelle perk up when Sarah's children met Annebelle. Sarah sent photographs to show how Annebelle was adjusting. We could tell from the photos that Annebelle was having a good time p]laying with other dogs. We would not hesitate to leave Annebelle with Sarah in the future.

Kevin and Mandy were awesome with my little dog, Leo! We did a meet and greet where I could tell my dog felt comfortable in their space and around their cats… then during my trip, they texted me photos of naps and adventures…I was secretly worried Leo wouldn’t want to come home 😂 I could tell Leo had a blast and was in good hands. Jenny is a great Rover that I have used twice now and got so lucky finding her! She’s good with communication, trustworthy, friendly, and I can tell my dog loves her. She definitely makes your pet feel at home and I have peace of mind when using her services. 5 stars!

Haley is so great with our dog. I was nervous to leave him with someone else as he’s older and has some issues, but Haley is caring, patient and understanding. She also always sends us updates, too, which I love. Thank you for taking care of Pyro like you’re own ❤️

Nicole and Cody are awesome when they really do treat your pet like their own. I was a little nervous leaving my dutch shepherd pooka with them but they sent pictures and videos to let me know how he was doing. I would recommend them to anyone looking for great pet sitter i know I will definitely be using them in the future.
We had such a wonderful experience with Brianna! She boarded our two dogs for several days and went above and beyond in every way. She sent frequent update photos, which gave us so much peace of mind, and was incredibly attentive to all of their needs. It was clear our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. Brianna was accommodating, reliable, and genuinely caring. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional dog care!

We are so grateful to Dana and her family for taking such great care of Milo. They treated him like part of their own family and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Milo was happy, well cared for, and clearly had a great time. We truly appreciate the love and attention they gave him and would absolutely trust them again!

Fantastic sitters/boarders with my 2 large Great Pyrenees at their home. They came back healthy, joyous, and happy and really enjoyed themselves at the doggy resort that is their home. Louis and his wife also came to my home to attend my 2 cats who were also healthy and happy upon our return. They are my first choice as long as they are available!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
