Availability

I work part time from home, so bathroom trips will be frequent, as will walks! I only leave the house if my husband is there, or if the trip is short such as a quick grocery run or doctors appointment. We walk twice daily, once in the morning and once in the afternoon to pick my son up from school on weekdays, or on weekends the second walk is after dinner.

Information Rachel R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know behavioral issues that they may have (separation anxiety, stranger danger, kid aggression/fear, marking, lack of house training, jumping, problems when trying to walk them, food aggression, chewing and barking). If the pet is in any physical pain due to a shot, recent surgery, age, or a medical condition please let me know so we can adjust! Additionally I need to know if your dog is an escape artist (so I can use a tie out or be present when they are in the backyard). I am able to accommodate almost any pet, but I like to be prepared! I need proof that their rabies shot is up to date (email or a photo will work) . For puppies I will also need parvo & kennel cough. If your dog has any medical issues or allergies please let me know. I love to know their little individual quirks good and bad!

A typical day

We have a large open area behind the house, and a fenced yard for potty breaks. I also do walks 2 times a day. We are close to a playground and dog park for walkable excursions. We prefer to not go to the dog park for your dogs safety but if there are reasons for not being able to walk/run for an active dog, we can take them with your permission and weather permitting. We live in a residential area, on a culdesac. We also have a plethora of toy options from stuffies, to interactive puzzles, and chew toys.

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Rachel and my Husband’s name is Dan, and we would like to thank you for considering us for your pets needs! We have owned dogs all of our lives, and love all animals big and small! I have a degree in animal biology and have volunteered with several animal shelters and zoos over the years. I have taken dog CPR, and attended obedience training classes. I have a wonderful husband, and two delightful animal loving kids! We adore opening out home to your canine babies. We also love taking care of your feline kids too! We have a small fenced backyard. We have an older mellow little Chihuahua/ French bulldog mix, who loves to be with other dogs! I love sharing photos with you! Let us be your pets second family, when you need us! Disclosures/ Disclaimers: -Please do not drop your pet off or attend a meet and greet if you or your pet has any contagious illness or if your pet has fleas, worms, etc.. - Please be aware of the additional cost when booking care for puppies (dogs under 1 year old) this is to cover any additional care needed due to house training accidents and chewing. We added this change in order to keep our rates affordable overall. This additional cost can be refunded if no issues arise. This is built into the rover app already. -I currently work from home part time and both children are at school during the stay (with the exceptions of breaks). We have daily walks and lots of love and attention given throughout the day. The pets are only left alone for grocery shopping, my kid’s school events, or an occasional appointment, and no more than two hours. If your pet cannot be left for these periods, please be aware that an extra charge could be assessed for dogs who cannot be alone at all due to severe separation anxiety, medical issues, or your personal preference. This is called “constant care”. This fee is $15.00 a day. - I try to accommodate any pet but if there is a history of aggression that requires me to not take any other clients during that pets stay and/or separate them from the children and our family dog, there can be a fee accessed, this would be no more than $60.00 a night for normal times, and $75.00 for holiday stays. Pick up and drop offs are restricted to a 6 mile drive/ 12 mile round trip from my home. Longer drives can be arranged and fees discussed when booking. When in my home they are treated as one of our own. All of us treat them with love and respect. We follow a daily routine, and will follow yours as close as you need.

Rachel took very good care of our little labradoodle! Coco has many allergies and requires daily medicine. I appreciate Rachel and her family very much! I would definitely recommend Rachel!

Rachel was so kind and attentive to our pup. She gave us daily updates on what they’d done for the day and it made it feel like our pup was happily at home while we were away. Thank you so much Rachel!
