About: I've been around pets my entire life; my family has always had cats and dogs in our home. I love caring for animals, as pet care is something I've always been exposed to. Having grown up in a household with animals, I've familiarized myself with general pet-related care to ensure animals are both relaxed and taken care of. I have some rescue experience, and am always looking to create a safe, comfortable environment for any pet I encounter. I have a very flexible schedule and am more than capable of curating and sticking to a schedule that is reflective of your needs. I'm also more than open to working early mornings or late nights! I've preformed dog-sitting and cat-sitting duties in the past successfully, and am very comfortable around new pets! I come from a family of animal lovers. I'm extremely grateful to have grown up in such an environment, as my family's love of animals has certainly rubbed off on me! When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment tailored to each pet's unique needs. I respect routines and surroundings, keeping the pet’s environment familiar to reduce stress. I provide regular updates, keep the home tidy, and make sure the pet feels secure and well-loved throughout the stay. My goal is always to treat every pet as if they were my own.

About: Hello! My name is Avery ..... I have had dogs all throughout my life and plan to keep it that way! As a kid I grew up with with two beagles, a chocolate lab, a pit bull, and most recently a rescue shar pei/ lab mix. I love seeing every animals personality shine through and spoiling them with love and attention. Each one of my dogs has loved the outdoors (almost as much as me) and had lives full of adventure and exercise. I have also lived with cats and love them (through my previous roommate). I love animals of all breeds and sizes and would love the chance to meet yours! I am a current student so my schedule is semi flexible at the moment. Currently unavailable/working Tuesday evenings (although i pick up other shifts when im able). I try my best to keep my calendar updated to reflect my availability, please reach out if you have any questions! I am super active and would love to spend time outside walking with your pet if you' like and the weather allows! If not we can spend time in-doors playing.

“Joe was great! I booked him to walk Graé several times while I flew to Detroit for an interview. Unfortunately, Graé suffered a dog attack the day before I was set to leave so that added a little more burden on Joe than anticipated. Joe walked, fed and administered Graé's meds in the evening and the morning. To make sure they got along Joe stopped by my place the night before for a meet and greet with my pup. While gone, Joes sent photos and updates to his time with him; I great help! I will definitely be using joe again if the need arises and he's available.”

“tara is excellent - timely, reliable, and communicative. I had no worries leaving my dog with her for walks, and she's absolutely someone I would rely upon in the future. highly recommend!”

About: I have 5 pets at home including two dogs, two cats, and a guinea pig. I have grown up always having a dog so I can ensure a good pet lover. I'm currently a pet loving college student who is off for the summer, loves to run, and has a lot of free time and would love to spend time with animals. I have five fur babies at home who love attention. I will gladly give anyones pet just as much if not more of my never ending love and attention. I'm also very experienced in animal behavior so I know when a dog or a cat is stressed or happy.

“She was great with my puppy”

About: I've helped care for family pets in the past, am an attentive cat mama of my own 2 year old cat, and have also previously provided animal care as a personal assistant in Metro Detroit. I've had practice and done a lot of researching to make sure I am a knowledgeable and resourceful caretaker. I work hybrid! When working from home, I can keep my eye on them. And I prepare very well when I know I'm going to be away for a few hours. I understand wanting to make sure animals are tended to, so even if I do have to step out, I time it and try to make sure I'm not gone too long. We will be indoors! If you want your cat to get fresh air outside (aside from being at an open screened window), I have a backpack with a window bubble on it specifically made for small animals, it also opens out into a small structure that'll let them play and stretch their legs a lot more while still not able to roam without supervision! I also have a little tote bag for an animal where they can poke their cute head out. I keep an eye on what they're interacting with to make sure it's nothing that'll harm them as well.

About: Hi! My name is Shalynn R. I am a recent grad from Wayne State who and just moved back to Detroit. I absolutely love dogs and cats of all sizes! I have my own cat (a fluffy maine coon named Augustine) at home. I also grew up with 2 bigs dog myself and have been around different animals my entire life! I have also been walking my best friends family dog regularly for years, and I have pet sit for many family and friends as well. I am not scared of any breed of dog - all are welcome! I really look forward to each interaction I get to have with animals, which makes this the perfect opportunity for me! I am very experienced and a natural animal person, so this is definitely my forte! Thanks so much for the opportunity. I currently work full time on Monday-Friday. I would be able to stop by for drop-ins / walks on those days before / after work! I also have plenty of time for extra drop-ins and/or walks on the weekends. I have experience with lots of types of pets so I understand the special needs your animal may have! I am great at following directions and am comfortable crating your pet and doing any other preventative care you may need.

“Katie was super friendly and great with the pups, and was so patient even when my puppy gave her a hard time. She sends photos while she’s there and is great with communicating with you. She rocks!”

About: I have been watching dogs and cats since I was 15. I am use to all types of dogs and cats, from crazy hyper to very chill and relaxed! I am currently a full time student at Wayne State University! I am free anytime between classes or after i’m done with my classes for the day! I like to have a rough plan for the day so if your pet needs a schedule I love working with those and very use to them!

About: My home and job are in the Midtown area of Detroit but I'm willing to go the distance to make sure your animal is cared for. Can I love and spoil your pet like they are my own? I have a flexible schedule and would enjoy spending my extra time visiting with your pet. I am not a dog owner but play aunt to a timid staffie. I am an enthusiastic professional at fetch, belly rubs, and love going on long walks. I currently own two cats and am a fantastic snuggle buddy. I have a willingness to learn and understand what works best for your pet. I'd most like to understand the things that make your pet an individual and how we can become friends.

About: ~ Please ask about my promo code to receive $20 off your first booking with me! ~ I am liability insured through Pet Sitters Associates, and certified in pet first aid and CPR. ~ Shy and fearful pets welcomed! ~ I only work in smoke-free homes. Hi, I'm Alex (they/he) and I've worked as a pet care provider for over 20 years, with professional experience in overnight pet sitting, managing dog day care groups, and walking dogs in the city as well as leading off-leash pack hikes. I've worked with various species, breeds, sizes, temperaments and stages of life, and I enjoy tailoring care to meet your pet's individual needs. I have experience working with shy and fearful pets. My general approach with any pet is to give them space and time to let THEM approach ME at the speed of trust. Please note that there may be an additional surcharge if your pet has special needs that require extra attention, time, and care. I look forward to sharing my care and attention with your pet <3 I have a flexible schedule that allows me to work around your pet's routine and individual needs. It's helpful for me to have their routine written out so that I can refer back to it during my visit. I'm a reliable, communicative, and down-to-earth individual who will look after your pets and home with the utmost attentiveness, and respect for your home space. I value my privacy and it's important to me to extend the same courtesy to my other humans. - I follow directions well and it's a priority to maintain your pet's routine to help him/her feel better adjusted to you being away. - My rate includes cleaning up after your pet and myself, taking out and bringing in trash/recycling/compost bins, retrieving mail and packages, & watering plants as instructed. - The only drawers and cabinets I am interested in are those in the kitchen as I often cook during overnights. - I don't throw parties-gatherings in my own home so they won't be happening at yours. I may ask for your permission to have my partner visit. They do not pet sit with me but as an animal-lover, cat owner, and former pet sitter, they enjoy meeting new animal friends too. I've experienced them as highly compassionate, great with animals, and very respectful of people's homes. Please let me know if you'd like to meet them as well.

19. Alex R.

“Simple put, Alex is the best! My dog Dally is a playful, but shy girl and does not do well in strange environments. Until we found Alex, we always worried when we went on vacation knowing that Dally would be anxious and stressed. Now that we met Alex and he has stayed at our house a couple of times with Dally, we couldn't be more comfortable. Dally loves Alex and Alex has developed a real fondness for Dally as well. While we are gone we get regular photos of them playing at the park having a great time, and Dally doesn't exhibit any of her usual signs of stress while we're gone (not eating, just watching out the window for us, etc.) Both our house and pooch are well cared for and we can relax and enjoy our time away. Thanks Alex! ”
