About: Hi! I'm Julie. I'm a mom and have taken care of cats and dogs for most of my life. I love animals and have a low-key, nurturing and respectful energy that I find most animals are comfortable with. ABOUT ME My husband and I have lived in north Berkeley, near Albany, for over 4 years. I recently left my job as a human resources professional and am taking this year off post-baby and would love to make pet sitting my new side gig! MORE ABOUT MY PET CARE EXPERIENCE I grew up with 4 cats and a dog (a husky) and adopted two of my childhood cats as an adult. I shared a dog (a rat terrier) with my former partner; I have taken care of my brother's dog overnight on occasion (a very energetic medium-sized mix); and I have helped my mom take care of her cats over the years. I have experience with senior/end of life pet care and post-surgery/injury pet care and other special needs. My schedule is pretty flexible on weekdays. I often do daycare drop-offs or pick-ups (near north Berkeley BART). It's easy for me to drop by after drop-off, before pick-up, or mid-day (basically anytime between 9:30-5). I'm detail oriented and write things down as needed. I seek to understand each family's/pet's unique needs, preferences, and habits and adjust to that. I'm sensitive and perceptive and tend to notice when something changes with a pet's behavior or mood. Finally, I am communicative, responsible, and treat your home and your pet with care and love.

“Juyeon was so kind to my cat while I was away for a few days, was great at communicating, and very flexible. When I extended my trip last minute, Juyeon was able to come for another two visits! I definitely recommend Juyeon!”

“Leena took excellent care of my cat while I was away. She was responsible and personable and sent photos of my kitty after each visit. She even moved my trash and recycling bins back to the house after trash day. I will definitely be using her again! Thanks, Leena!”

About: Hey there! I’m Mara — dog mom, educator, and your pup’s new favorite human! While I work in education, I have a super flexible schedule that lets me give plenty of time, love, and attention to your furry best friend. Whether it’s mid-day walks, weekend snuggles, or overnight stays, I’ve got you (and your dog) covered. I’ve cared for just about every kind of pup you can imagine: seniors who move at their own pace, anxious sweethearts who need a little extra patience, wild zoomie machines, and everything in between. I’ve also served as a foster parent for a local shelter, so I’m no stranger to quirky personalities, different energy levels, and dogs who need a little extra TLC while they adjust to new routines. My own pup, Bolton, has been my greatest teacher — showing me the power of consistency, gentle care, and, of course, a perfectly timed treat. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always make sure they feel safe, calm, and cared for. Plus, you’ll get plenty of photo updates so you never feel far from your furry friend. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet — I’d love to get to know your pup! I work full-time but work remotely 2 days a week and have a flexible schedule that allows me to move my meetings around if needed! I have a spacious 3-bedroom apartment with plenty of room for your dog to explore, relax, or follow me around like a little shadow. While I live on the second floor, I have a secure, dog-friendly balcony where pups can sunbathe and enjoy the breeze (supervised, of course!). The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and full of tree-lined sidewalks — perfect for slow sniff walks or energetic strolls depending on your dog’s vibe. I’m always mindful of avoiding busy or overly stimulating routes, especially for dogs who are anxious or reactive. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I keep the space clean, cozy, and full of positive energy. I also limit the number of pets I care for at once, so each dog gets plenty of attention, calm, and care. Whether your pup needs playtime, downtime, or just someone nearby, I’m here to make sure they feel at home.

“Marjorye does drop in visits for our 3 cats any time we’re out of town and she has made us feel more reassured they will be ok especially on longer trips with her attention to detail and care for the kitties. It’s never easy leaving them but on the first day I met her I could tell she really cares for the animal and she continued to show that thru her visits. Thank you!”

“Sandrine is a wonderful cat sitter! She is very thorough and caring. We were especially anxious about our cat with recent health issues and she gave such detailed reports that we were completely reassured that our cat was in good care! She accomplished everything we asked and went above and beyond in photos and reporting. Our cats are also very shy but they both grew to like her and look forward to seeing her at the windows in a short amount of time. Thank-you, Sandrine!”
