“We are so grateful Whitney was able to look after our pup! Whitney was so easy to communicate with and took great care of our home and pup. Would definitely book again!”

“Ayla was a fantastic dog and house sitter! She was very responsive and kept me up to date throughout the stay. She was also super flexible when we needed her to watch our in-laws dog as well. She made us feel great about leaving the dogs in her care!”

“Amber was absolutely amazing! She gave regular updates with pictures ! It was reassuring to see my baby so happy while we were away! I would hire Amber again, no questions asked!”

“Dawn was incredible! We came home to two very happy, healthy, and well loved pups. I was unavailable to contact sometimes due to our trip and she was still very diligent in sending photos, videos, and updates! My larger pup has had some health scares and Dawn was very detailed in her notes and was willing to take her to the vet immediately upon a small change in behavior but waited for my input ☺️. I will definitely be reaching out to Dawn in the future for any of our needs. I’ve never felt so confident and comfortable in the care our dogs received. We got our honeymoon and our dogs got almost two weeks of spoiling! Not to mention that this was a last minute booking due to our other sitter canceling with less than a weeks notice for a 12 day trip!!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Ozlen loving on our pups and taking care of our house while we were on vacation. Ozlen kept us posted with tons of pictures and helped us have a carefree vacation knowing all was well at home. We came home to happy pups and everything in order. We give Ozlen our highest recommendation!”

“Jessica was great! She is a great communicator. She always let us know when she was going to arrive to take care of cat. She also let us know when our cat wasn’t eating. She was super caring!”

“Caroline was an excellent caretaker of our 3 cats, including our epileptic who gets meds twice a day. Very professional and kind... we hope she's available next time we leave town!”

“Erin sent photos of our pups and was very thoughtful and thorough with our older dog. She administered meds, and we appreciated her communication. She’ll be caring for them again, and we are looking forward to it (the pups definitely are too)!”

“John was so great! He took awesome pictures of the babies and spend tons of time just loving on them. He did a great job with the litter boxes and special feeding schedules/meds for our whole zoo. Thank you!”

“Noelle was AMAZING with our pups. We have a senior dog, 5 year old and 8 month puppy and she was great with all of them. She clearly paid a lot of attention to them and what they needed.”

“Tammy is an amazing sitter! She made sure she visited before sitting my fur baby to make sure she was comfortable! Did an amazing job providing updates and administering medication and was beyond flexible. Would recommend her in a heart beat to anyone! You’re the best!”

“Amber is great! Highly recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs!! She watched my four cats and was so kind! One of my cats had just gotten spayed and she was very attentive with her.”

Kimmie was amazing! She was able to sit our dog last minute on labor weekend and quickly became best friends with her! She sent lots of updates and pictures and left the house very clean! We could totally tell our pup was loved on like crazy and we will definitely be using Kimmie again :)

6/5⭐️’s for Taylor!! She was absolutely amazing! We were gone for 12 days and that’s the longest we have ever left them, so I was extremely nervous. We have five pets which all have different needs of care and Taylor did a fantastic job with all of them. I recieved multiple check ins a day and plenty of pictures of all of my babies! She even clipped my Dalmatian’s nails that we forgot to trim in our pre-travel stress. She watered my plant children and even mowed our yard! 🤯 I already have her booked for our next trip in November and for two trips next year 🤭

We had a wonderful experience with Callie! She stayed overnight at our home with our two dogs for the weekend and took excellent care of them. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly cared about making sure they were happy and comfortable while we were away. One thing we especially appreciated was the regular updates and photos she sent throughout the weekend. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands. We came home to two happy pups and a well-cared-for home. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.

Raven watched our 2 golden doodles for 2 weeks! They loved her and so did we. Raven is so sweet and she did everything we asked and more. This was the first time we have ever left our pups ( age 6 & 13) with anyone and they were happy with Raven. So nice to know we have her for the next time.

Morgan was fantastic!! One of my dogs can be selective and wasnt shy at all with Morgan during the meet and greet and just wanted cuddles the entire stay. This was the first time we had a house sitter and Morgan gave me a good amount of updates! After the first day, my anxiety was eased and I knew my babies would be wonderful in her care. She even took out the trash, vacuumed, and cleaned our sheets! 11/10!

Nhi was kind, responsive, and very caring for our cats! She kept me updated and sent pics. She noticed one of my cats wasn’t eating her dry food and reached out so we could troubleshoot. Our cats seemed to be really comfortable with her, cuddling with her on day one! Grateful for her help while we were out of town - Will book again!

Ramona is one of the best sitters I’ve ever had for my dog! She truly went above and beyond to take care of both my fur son and my home. She sent such sweet updates and pictures of them together, which made me feel so relieved because I always have anxiety leaving him. Really trustworthy, great communicator and such a big heart for animals. Can’t wait to use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Willow Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Willow Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Willow Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
