“Tammy was an excellent sitter for our cats. She visited in our home and took great care of our pets while out for a few days and sent photo updates. I highly recommend Tammy for anyone's pet sitting needs!”

“Kimmie was fantastic! She was communicative from the start, asked good questions, and made sure she understood our dog's routine. She went above and beyond taking care of our pup and our house. We would highly recommend her! She is the best Rover experience we've had!”

“Kaelin did a wonderful job taking care of our house and two dogs for six days while we were out of town. She sent pictures daily and seemed to really enjoy her time with the dogs. I recommend her services wholeheartedly!”

“Holly was fantastic with Storm and Kitty. Both pets were clearly happy and relaxed when we got home, which is always what you want to see. She sent plenty of updates and photos throughout the stay, which made it easy to relax knowing everything was going well. Kitty, who tends to run the house, also seemed very pleased with her, which says a lot. Holly followed all of our instructions, took great care of the house, and even handled the bedding. Everything was in great shape when we returned. Very easy to work with, communicative, and thoughtful. We’d absolutely book her again.”

“Rachel was a “dreamboat” for our senior pups! She was available for them during the daytime and woke up early with them every morning! We could not ask for a better experience with a sitter for Sallie and Pixie and our home. If we have needs in the future she will be the first one we call!”

“All three of our pets, two dogs and a cat, warmed right up to Julia. She made sure to understand all of their needs and routine, spent good quality time caring for them, and provided thoughtful updates and photos.”

“Carolina was great. She took care of our dog Rudy while we were gone and paid attention to his special care/medicine needs. She stayed in our home and was clean and courteous. Would recommend and use again!”

About: I recently graduated from NC State University with a degree in design and a minor in zoology! Now that I’m in post-grad life, I’m working remotely and looking to spend time doing what I love most: hanging out with animals. While I’ve shared most of my life living with cats but dog sitting has actually been my main thing! Long before downloading the Rover app, I was primarily dog sitting for people in person—starting back in 2020 when I pulled double duty babysitting both toddlers and their fur babies. Needless to say, dogs know I'm a trusted friend! From energetic medium and large breeds to the sweetest small pups, I love them all—that absolutely includes our precious senior dogs! I have a huge heart for older pups who just want company to hang out with. Because of my background with cats, I am an absolute pro at routine. I run a tight, loving schedule—timely meals, plenty of playtime and walks, and endless cuddles tailored to exactly what your dog likes. Your pup will be in the safest, most attentive hands. I’ll keep you completely in the loop with consistent updates. Plus, as a design grad, don't be surprised if a a simple portrait of your pet lands in your inbox as a bonus :) Since I work remotely from my laptop, my schedule is flexible, allowing me to easily prioritize your babies whenever they need attention. I will be at your home for the majority of the time, only popping out occasionally to grab food or run quick errands. I absolutely adore my own cats and treat them like royalty, so you can rest assured your fur babies will receive that exact same level of love and quality care! To ensure they have the best experience possible! I always make it a point to learn about their specific routines, favorite toys, safe zones, and any necessary medications ahead of time :)

“Marquita watched our dog Biscuit while we were on a trip out of the country for 8 days. She was great with him and kept our house tidy as well. Would recommend her for your pet sitting needs!”
“Brooklynn is the best! She sent so many photo updates and my dog looked so happy. I didn’t worry about him at all while we were gone! We will definitely be booking with her in the future.”

“Sarah stayed with Stella while we were traveling for 10 days. Each day she would update us as to how she and Stella were getting along. She walked and played fetch with her. I loved the pictures of Stella that she would send us. She gave Stella lots of love and belly rubs and soon they became best buds. I would have her dog sit for us again.”

“Kara was wonderful and Nina loved her immediately. She provided updates and pictures the whole time, putting us at ease that our senior pup was well taken care of while we were gone. Will absolutely book again!”

About: I grew up on a farm in Indiana. Animals have been a part of my life since I learned to walk. I have cared for animals, traveled with animals, and loved animals throughout my lifetime. I have potty-trained puppies for friends, and I have dog-sat, along with some exotic animal sitting, many times over my years. I have also cared for my aging pets as they transitioned from life. I recently retired from a career in teaching special education students. I have a husband who is willing to allow me to leave a week or so here and there, so I can house and pet-sit at this time if you're going on vacation. My schedule is open right now. I love to walk and hike. If your pet likes to go for walks, that is something that we will do daily, a few times a day, depending on weather. I play with animals, tug of war and fetch, and petting is essential. Pets require lots of love and attention in order to be healthy and happy.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Millbrook
Natalie was fantastic with Storm and Kitty. She communicated proactively the entire stay, handled a set of thunderstorms without any issue, and stayed calm and easygoing through a minor mess along the way. She was flexible with schedule changes on our end and clearly paid close attention to the written instructions (meds, feeding, walk timing around heat). Came home to two happy, well-cared-for pets. Highly recommend and would book again without hesitation.

Asheton was absolutely amazing, and one of my best experiences with Rover yet. She sent me plenty of updates and photos while I was away, and she followed my dog’s routine, including medication. She was accommodating when I had last-minute travel complications and stayed with Dixie an extra day. I felt so comfortable leaving Dixie in her care, and Asheton will now hopefully be our go-to dog sitter!

Maria was kind and punctual. She came over for a meet and greet and the boys loved her. She was able to follow instructions well and even critically think on her feet when Goose decided he didnt like the extra food so she skipped it instead of wasting more. 10/10 will be booking again for a wedding in October 🖤😽

Rachel was a good friend and caregiver to our big boy - Rhodesian Ridgeback - Rufus for the 6 days and nights we were away. The house was immaculate when we returned and Rufus was healthy and happy. Rachel even watered my wife's garden when needed. No complaints and a hearty recommendation.
jacob does a great job with my 2 dogs, one who has some anxiety issues but he works to make her feel comfortable. he leaves my home the same way he found it and communicates with me if any issues arise. i wouldn't hesitate to use him again to watch my home and dogs.

Olivia took amazing care of my two cats. I booked with her twice and she was extremely flexible and saved me in watching my cats last minute. My cats absolutely love her. Both of my cats need medicine and she did a great job giving Mr. White his inhaler and Romeo his pill each day. Highly recommend Olivia and will be using her in the future.

We had an amazing experience with our dog sitter this past weekend! From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such caring and capable hands. She provided regular updates, photos, and messages, which made being away so much easier. Our dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly received plenty of attention, and love. It was obvious that she genuinely care about animals and treat them like their own. We came home to a relaxed, happy dog and a spotless home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,998 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Millbrook. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Millbrook walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Millbrook maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Millbrook choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
