“Monica took such great care of our two pitbulls over the long weekend!! She was very communicative and took great care of not only the dogs, but also our house. I appreciated all her updates throughout the weekend and all the cute pictures she sent! We would definitely trust her to take care of our girls again! She was fantastic and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog sitter!”

“Karen is a superstar! The dogs loved her and so did we! Karen is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to dog behaviors and personalities. It was our pleasure to have her watch Temple and Bandit over the weekend.”

“As soon as I met Loren I felt completely comfortable leaving our 15 month old pampered Coton de Tulear with her. She sent me great pictures that showed Moppie was relaxed and happy. I would not hesitate to get her to dog sit again!”

About: Hi everyone, my name is Laura and my husband's name is Al! Our life is pretty animal focused and we see our animals as our family, like our own kids. We like to spend most of our free time with our fur kids; hiking, playing, cuddling, etc. Personally, we are not fond of kenneling our animals when we can't take care of them which is what brought us to Rover! We want to provide the kind of experience and level of care for other animal families just like we do for our own. We treat all our clients like they are one of pack so that they feel right at home and comfortable whether they are staying with us or we are coming to them. We have 4 dogs and 1 cat. Our oldest, Foxy, is a sweet 17 year old cattle dog mix with beautiful brindle color fur. She may be a senior dog but no one told her that because she still has a lot of pep in her step! Our second oldest dog, Zeus, is a 12 year old pitbill mix who still thinks and acts like a puppy. He also thinks he's the size of a toy dog and doesn't quite understand when he cannot fit in my lap. They both have been together for about 12 yrs. Our cat ,Ziggy, is our referee for when our dogs start to play too rough. He meows loudly until they stop and boy does it work. Lucy is our 5 year old beagle with lot of energy that keeps all of us on our toes. She is very vocal when she wants something which be pretty cute. Last but not least, we have our newest addition, Ludo. He is a 1year pit bull who loves to give everyone, dogs especially, he meets tons of kisses. He loves all dogs but the small ones hold a special place in his heart. They all are house broken and know their eat and walk schedules. Our typical day on the weekends is just playing with the dogs and laying around and more playing with the dogs. Our service is great because we have over 16 years of experience with a variety of animals. From taking care of our friends pets and family's pets and also pets we have never met along the way! We have a huge 2 story house and we are in the process of installing fence. We would love to a second home and family for your babies! Let us know if you have any questions.
“Carol’s son stayed at our house and took great care of our dog, left the house clean, and provided frequent updates. We would work with them again and would recommend Carol and/or her family to others!”

“Kelsey was very good sitter, she took care of Oreo really well in our absence. She kept sending us updates and pictures. Our main requirement was not to leave Oreo alone for long periods, Kelsey made sure about it. Oreo was happy when we returned home. We would rebook her again. Thanks Kelsey. Because of you our trip went smooth”

“Dawn was absolutely wonderful. She stayed at my house with my two dogs and cat and took amazing care of them. She sent videos and pictures of each of them throughout the day, was able to give all the medications, and took amazing care of my home. It was great to be able to just relax on my trip and not have to worry about my fur babies and home.”

“We will never be able to thank Lori enough. There was a fire in our building and she got both pets, and herself, out safely. Our pets immediately warmed up to her, we received lots of photos throughout the weekend, and I knew without a doubt that our pets were safe and taken care of. We would absolutely book with Lori again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.”

“Nicole was great with our dog. He could be challenging at times but Nicole was very patient with him until he was comfortable with her. She’s also good at communicating. She sent us pictures daily and got on calls during the 10 days we were abroad. She also took care of the garden and the rest of the house. It was a such a relief to come back to a happy dog and an orderly house. We will definitely book Nicole again :)”

“Suzanne was so great! She sent so many updates throughout the 5 days I was gone! She left the place cleaner than she found it! Was super communicative!! I would book her again in a heartbeat.”

“Olivia is so sweet!! She was awesome and accommodated my last minute request to take care of my kitties. She even made time to do a meet and greet!! She is so friendly and super responsive/communicative. I will for sure be booking with her again!!”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats through my own pets and everyday pet care. I understand that every pet has a different personality, routine, and comfort level, so I always take the time to learn what works best for each pet. I’m comfortable with daily feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, basic grooming, and keeping pets on their normal routine. I’m also happy to provide extra attention and more frequent potty breaks for puppies when needed. One thing that sets me apart is that I treat every pet as an individual. I pay attention to their behavior and body language and want them to feel safe and comfortable in my home. Communication with pet parents is also very important to me. I’m happy to send regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing how your pet is doing while you’re away. Before a first booking, I prefer to meet the pet and owner so we can go over feeding instructions, routines, personality, and anything else that will help make their stay comfortable. I have a flexible schedule and can plan my day around pet care. I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, feeding, playtime, walks, and check-ins while keeping each pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. My priority is to provide a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet. Before a first booking, I prefer to have a Meet & Greet so we can discuss your pet’s routine, personality, feeding instructions, and any special needs. For pets staying in my home, I supervise interactions with my own pets and make sure each pet has a safe and comfortable space. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully and keep doors, gates, and other potential escape routes secure. For drop-in visits or care in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine and make sure they have fresh water, appropriate food, a clean environment, and plenty of attention. I also provide photos and updates during visits so you know how your pet is doing.
“Megan watched our two cats and two labs in our home and did an amazing job! We appreciated her frequent updates and that she didn’t hesitate to ask clarifying questions. It’s hard to leave our pups and cats, but she was truly wonderful and gave us peace of mind that they were well taken care of! 10/10 will rebook with Megan in the future!”

About: I have experience caring for both children and pets in different situations that require responsibility and attention. I have cared for two babies for the family I lived with while their mother was on vacation and also during a post-operative recovery period. I have also provided pet care for the family I currently work with, including full weeks and weekends. My responsibilities included feeding in the morning, bathroom breaks throughout the day, and ensuring they were well cared for and comfortable, Also the pets of my friends I always try to take them for a moderate walk whenever I'm with them. I make sure they have fresh water at all times, and I let them lie in bed with me or sit on the couch where the caregivers do the same. My weekly routine is structured and consistent, which allows me to provide reliable care. I work Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and after that I am at home and available. I will soon begin online classes, so I will continue to be home and present during the week. On Fridays, I work from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and I am free afterward. During weekends, I usually stay at home, organize my week, clean, and relax by watching movies or playing video games. I also go to the gym in the mornings and I enjoy long walks whenever they are needed, especially for pets that require extra exercise and attention. For pet care, I currently have a baby bearded dragon that spends most of her time safely in her terrarium. For everyone’s safety, I will not take her out when caring for your pets to avoid any accidents. I do not currently have dogs or cats, as I prefer to maintain stability before adopting in the future. If your pets stay at my home, I have a safe area where they can go outside for bathroom breaks, and there are nearby parks for walks and exercise. If I care for your pets in your home, I will always respect your space, belongings, and household rules. I also work as a nanny and am extremely careful and responsible in my work. I have also cared for the family dogs I nanny for, and I truly adore animals and enjoy spending time with them.
“Barrett was great. We normally board our dogs, so we were a little nervous at first doing something different, but Barrett put our nerves at ease. He went above and beyond and spoiled our dogs while we were gone. They were well taken care of. We highly recommend him.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stony Hill
I don't have the words to express how thankful we are that Richie was our pet sitter for our wedding weekend. Not only was he amazing at his regular duties, making sure our cat got the medicine he needed even when he was being difficult, and making sure our pets all got given lots of love, but when our oldest dog had a very sudden health decline Ritchie stepped up in ways well beyond the call of duty. Not only did he help communicate with us throughout the ordeal, but when we had to make the tough call to have our boy put down while we were hours away from home, Ritchie stayed with him and gave him pets until the end, and helped us FaceTime to say goodbye and be there in that moment in the only way we could. If I could give him 100 stars I would! Thank you so much Richie, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and know how truly grateful we are for everything you did this weekend! ❤️

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stony Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stony Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stony Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stony Hill. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
