Alyssa is the sitter of our dreams- we could not be happier with how attentive, kind, and thoughtful she is! Anyone who chooses Alyssa to care for their four-legged babies is getting a true companion and advocate; and lots of pics/videos of them while you are away.

Nicole was wonderful to our pups! This was the first time we’ve left them overnight since adopting them so we were a little nervous at first. But she completely calmed our nerves!! I cannot thank her enough for treats them like they are hers. We will for sure be using her again! Thank you, Nicole!!

About: I am an experienced pet sitter with over five years of experience. My experience includes working with puppies, kittens, and senior fur babies. I am a retired nurse and have experience giving dogs their medicine. Moreover, I have experience with dealing with seizures, congestive heart failure and joint pain in fur babies which helps ensure safe care. Providing a safe, calm and loving environment is a priority while caring for your furbaby. Pet sitting is my full time job. I have time to provide one on one personal care for your fur baby. Would love the opportunity to do a meet and greet to review further availability. I have a fenced in yard for zoomies, fetch and reliving themselves. Our community has sidewalks for safe walking exercise too. I have two small dogs ( one senior & one puppy) and two senior cats to keep your Furbaby company. I have a crate if needed or gates if a need arises to ensure safety. However, your Furbaby will have free roam of the house if no safety concerns.

Fantastic! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We appreciated the multiple daily walks, pup cups (so said Kenai and Koda), daily updates and pictures of our fur family. Kenia and Koda always playing, which helped us feel connected while we were away. John N. was flexible and accommodating to our needs, even when we had to make last-minute changes to our schedule. He even took out the trash and did some light housekeeping! highly recommend John to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and loving pet sitter. You won't regret choosing him!

Dawn is an absolute gem and took amazing care of our Boxer rescue, Bruno. She sent regular updates with tons of pictures (something our daughters loved) over the three days we were gone. Dawn went above and beyond during her stay and we are grateful to have found someone who can handle our anxious boy. In fact, we’ve already rebooked her for our beach vacation this summer!

Whitney was amazing! She stepped in last minute after another sitter canceled and took such great care of Yoshi. She kept me updated with plenty of pictures and videos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Yoshi got lots of walks (a real treat for him!), and we came home to a clean house with everything just as we left it. I would definitely recommend Whitney to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

Chrisztina was amazing with my pet furry boys. She sent me videos and pictures every day. She understood that Oscar has never being boarded or left our sides since he was two months old. Charlie was adjusted fine. Oscar likes to follow us around the house or he is in his home. I believe he knew that we left him as he followed Chrisztina everywhere too. I love Chrisztina for her get go personality. She really does care care about animals. Also, she’s very reasonable, too reasonable. She should increase her fee.

I trusted Ayla with my pets and plants for a long 10 night booking and she did not disappoint. She was prompt and consistent with communication. She sent frequent updates and made sure that my 3 animals were comfortable, happy, and very well taken care of. She also took great care of my plants, and they even look better than when I left them. She cleaned the house and changed the sheets at the end of her stay, which was not expected, but a nice addition to the experience. Overall, I would highly recommend and will definitely book her again.

About: I have had dogs my whole life ranging from 175 to 50 pounds. My family also breeds dogs so I’m comfortable with all ages. I have dog sat for numerous family and friends and love all animals so your pet will get treated as if they were my own. I’ve also took care of dogs that take medication, are on special diets. I have a full time job but I make my own schedule so I will base that off of my schedule with rover. Pets will be well taken care of and took on walks. If your pet is more laid back and likes to lay around all day then we will do that. If your pet has a lot of energy and like to run the we can do that as well. I have plenty of yard for your pet/pets to play. I currently don’t have any other animals in the house and am waiting for my puppy to be born! Your pet will be allowed on furniture unless that is a rule you have then I will not go against it. I have plenty of toys, dog beds, and crates if needed.

Jessica was a Godsend. Due to a last minute sitter cancellation that left me scrambling for a long work trip, I found Jessica. Then right before my trip, my pup got an injury. I walked through everything with Jessica and with her prior experience caring for fosters, I knew he was in the right hands while I was away. She took amazing care of my guy, kept me up to date on everything and sent loads of pictures of my guy. I am forever grateful for the care she provided while I was away for an extended period and helping Beckham recover from his injury. Highly recommend booking with Jessica!

About: I have had dogs in my life since I was a baby and I truly dont think we dersve how pure and amazing they are. I used to dog sit during highschool for my neighbors and even now when friends go out of town I am always open to have their pup at the house or watch them at theirs. I have trained 3 dogs from 7 weeks old so I am able to help you out at any age pup you have. I will love on them like they are my own and I cant wait :) I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to work from home some days a week. I am never gone for more than 4 hours in a day but can always adjust my schedule if I am watching a dog that cant have me gone long. You tell me your needs and I will work around that. I have one friendly pup of my own named kona and a private fenced in dog park that is normally empty that I bring her to a couple times a day. I usually go on a couple walks a day so I can do as many or as few walks as your pups needs :)

About: With more than 10 years of experience caring for dogs, I have had the opportunity to work with all types of breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. My experience includes caring for energetic puppies, senior dogs, large and small breeds, and dogs with a wide range of personalities and individual needs. I am patient, dependable, attentive, and comfortable adapting my care to each dog’s unique routine and temperament. I understand the importance of providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment while ensuring that every dog receives the attention, exercise, companionship, and care they need. Over the years, customers have greatly enjoyed my services and appreciated my friendly, caring, and likable personality. I have built positive relationships with both dogs and their owners, earning trust through reliable care and genuine compassion for animals. My goal is always to make sure every dog feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for while in my care. I work full time but dont work a typical 9-5 so Im very flexible and able to work around most schedules. And rarely take vacations so weekends are typically open. I have a great dane who wants to be freinds with anything with 4 legs and definitely two legs. Hes not territorial or aggressive. So keeping your pet here would be a fun time for everyone. Back yard is not fenced so your dog would always be on a leash. But we would go for walks pending your approval as I live in a perfect neighborhood for walking.

About: I have experience caring for multiple dogs in the same household, including managing individual routines, feeding schedules, walks, and medications. I’ve cared for puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs, and I’m comfortable handling up to three dogs at a time. I focus on calm, consistent care and clear communication to help dogs feel safe and settled while their humans are away. Hi, I’m Tara — a calm, attentive house sitter with a deep respect for animals, routines, and the homes I care for. I work remotely as a Creative Wellness Guide and Poet, which allows me to be fully present with pets throughout the day while maintaining a steady, flexible schedule. I’m currently based in the Raleigh–Durham area and enjoy caring for pets while exploring familiar neighborhoods or new places at a relaxed pace. I’m naturally observant and patient, and animals tend to respond well to my calm presence. Whether your dog enjoys walks and companionship or your cat prefers quiet consistency, I follow their lead and keep their routines steady. I take pride in maintaining a peaceful home environment, caring for pets thoughtfully, and communicating clearly with pet parents. House and pet sitting allows me to combine my love of animals, nature, and travel with meaningful, responsible care. It’s a privilege to support both pets and their humans so everyone can feel at ease while apart. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes so pets can stay in their familiar environment and routines. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and household guidelines. I’m attentive to safety, keep doors and gates secure, and make sure pets are supervised and comfortable throughout the day. I respect each home as if it were my own and aim to keep the space calm, clean, and well maintained. I communicate clearly with pet parents, provide updates as requested, and reach out promptly if I notice anything out of the ordinary with a pet’s behavior or health.

FAQs for House Sitting - Eagle Rock

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Eagle Rock on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,568 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Eagle Rock. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Eagle Rock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Eagle Rock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eagle Rock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eagle Rock. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
