About: I’ve been a mom to small dogs most my adult life. I currently have a chill 7 lb shih tzu mix that would love company on our two daily walks. I work part-time and am never away for more than 4 hours. (Often my college age son is home when I’m out) I’ve taken care of very young pups as well as older dogs requiring medications and special diets. I’m responsible and loving, doing my best to keep pups content while their people are away. I’m communicative and responsive and provide daily pupdates. I work two to three days a week for no more than 4 hours, so I’m home a lot. I have a 6 year-old shih tzu mix that I walk twice a day so I have a good routine established. My college age son lives with me and is super helpful and responsible. Generally if I’m out, he’s home to give extra potty breaks and belly rubs. My back yard is quite big and securely fenced-lots of room for sniffing! My house is cozy and comfortable-I’m happy to have pups on my lap on the couch and in my bed for the night.
“We requested a last minute multi-day drop-in from Carrianne to watch our babies while we were away. She did a great job taking care of them and sending us lots of photos! Would rebook to watch our babies again!”

“Laura was so caring with our cat and communicative. She even came to check on him last minute when we had to extend our trip. We will definitely be booking with Laura again!”

“Easy peasy experience with Jennifer. They will definitely someone I ask to come back in the future. I love how attentive and kind they were with my old lady of a cat. Thanks Jennifer!”

“Skippy was great -- came with all of the right questions for a sitter, took great care of Koufax, left the house in a great state. Could not have asked for more.”

“Christiana is the best and has cared for our 2 cats numerous times over the past year. Always reliable, communicative and attentive to each cat’s needs and moods. It gives us peace of mind while we’re away knowing they enjoy being around Chris and are well taken care of!”

“Francheska was proacative to set up a meet and greet. She was punctual on the day of service and took lots of photos while caring for my pet. I would recommend her in the future and will reach out next time I need help!”

“Amy is great! She’s super patient and great with my reactive dog. Her photos and videos make it clear my dog is comfortable and happy in her care. I feel totally at ease knowing my pup is in her hands!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Billy exceeded all expectations! He was so kind and kept us updated the entire time we were out of town. Our dogs loved Billy and he went above and beyond the entire weekend. We will absolutely be using Billy any time we are gone, and referring him to everyone!!”

“Francesca is amazing! She not only checked in on our baby but spent time helping her to learn commands! Cupcakke loves her and we will use her any time she is available! Highly recommend!”

“Lisa has been beyond wonderful to our boy Benny. He can be a bit difficult and doesn’t warm up to just anybody. Lisa has been so patient and allowed him the time to get comfortable with a new person. We would be thrilled to book Lisa again.”

About: I've loved and cared for dogs for 20+ years — and it's the senior and high-needs ones that have shaped me most as a caretaker. I've worked professionally as a dog walker and sitter, volunteered on a farm tending to sheep, pigs, and cows, and have logged years of animal care across a wide variety of contexts. My focus and true passion is senior and high-needs dogs. I currently care for Momo, my 11-year-old mini poodle rescue, who requires daily medication, mobility support, and consistent patience with separation anxiety rooted in past trauma. I'm fully comfortable managing medication schedules, specialized diets, and the kind of attentive, adaptive care that older or more complex dogs require. I also guided my previous dog, an Old English Sheepdog, through her full senior journey — including dementia-informed reactivity, significant mobility challenges, and all the nuanced day-to-day care that came with loving a big dog through her final chapter. I share my home with two poodles: Momo, and Stormy — a big, friendly 7-year-old standard who loves meeting new dogs and is equally happy to give them space if that's what they need. Stormy splits his time between my home and family nearby, so his presence varies by stay. I now work from home in a different field, and pet care is my way of staying connected to the animals I love. Your dog gets calm, present, unhurried attention from someone who is genuinely home — and genuinely invested. Senior dogs, anxious dogs, and dogs who need a little extra are especially welcome here! I work from home the majority of the week, so I'm present and available throughout most days. I'm typically in office one to two days a week — usually Wednesdays and/or Thursdays — for roughly 8 hours. Outside of those days, I'm home and attentive during business hours and fully available on evenings and weekends. I have a fully fenced yard, a one-story layout with no stairs to navigate — especially important for senior or mobility-limited dogs — and gate separation available so visiting dogs can be in the mix while still having their own space. Crates are available if needed. I keep pet cameras throughout the home so I can monitor remotely on the rare occasion I'm out. All dogs have dedicated feeding stations and I'm happy to accommodate varying meal times and dietary needs. Animal CPR documentation is posted in the home, an emergency vet is less than a mile away, and I have reliable transportation should anything come up.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - White Center
Chis was amazing. We have a very sick kitten, and she was the most perfect caregiver to her while we were away. She was super organized, communicated well, and gave us very thoughtful updates. It was my first weekend away since our kitten being very ill. There isn’t anyone I could have trusted more. We are beyond grateful.

This was our second booking with Ivanna & Jacob after being very happy with their service on our first booking. They're a pleasant young couple and took great care of our collection of our three furry babies - our cat and the cats belonging to each of our two daughters - on both occasions. We absolutely recommend them!
Maura was absolutely incredible and was so sweet to our girls. This was our first time using rover and Maura literally gave us the perfect experience. She was always on time, took care of the girls’ needs, and send us detailed updates! We loved that she took time to play with them and they warmed up to her quickly which gave us a lot of peace of mind. She was such a blessing while we were gone!

We asked Karen to watch our cat for two weeks while we were on vacation, and we could not be happier! Bleu is usually very standoffish with new people -- it takes him a while to warm up. But he bonded with Karen immediately. She was great -- on top of everything and very responsive. She sent pictures and updates every time she dropped in, and she was so friendly with both us and Bleu. When you love your animals as we do, it's tough to leave them in the hands of people you don't know. Now that we know Karen, she's Bleu's person from now on when we're not home. We would give her the highest possible recommendation.

Pinar has checked in on my kitties on several different occasions & every time she has gone above & beyond! From all the photos & thorough report cards, it's always apparent that my cats are loved on & very well cared for whenever she comes by. Any furry friend would be lucky to be under her care!

Lisa was amazing! She took such wonderful care of Luna while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Luna had someone kind and attentive checking in on her. Luna was happy, relaxed, and clearly enjoyed having the company. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book with Lisa again. Highly recommend!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in White Center. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
