About: I have experience with big dogs, medium dogs, and small dogs. I take great care in updating my clients on what’s happening with their pets. I’m working as a substitute Paraeducator so my days can be flexible depending on circumstances. I’ve stayed overnight in peoples houses looking after their pets while also staying at their place all day I always ask clients when I visit where and when pets are allowed in certain parts of the house and yard. I want to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible.
“Paul, was absolutely amazing! Our cat Auggie loved him. We could have had a better sitter and we will absolutely have Paul take care of our pets in the future. I highly recommend him to anyone!”

“We had to leave last minute for a family emergency and Ivana was super helpful, responsive, and easy going. She was able to accommodate a meet and greet prior to us leaving. She was understanding with schedule changes too. I would highly recommend Ivanna for your sitting needs.”

“Jeannie is wonderful! Communication was extremely fast and consistent both before and during the drop-in visits. Couldn’t have left our dog in better hands while we were away.”

About: I’ve been a caretaker of animals for most of my life! Experience with: Puppies, Kittens, Disabled (Blind, Deaf and Amputated pets) and Senior animals. I have administered oral medication and eye drops to cats and dogs. Breeds I've taken care of: Tabbies, Domestic Shorthairs, Labs, Doodles, Golden Retriever, Shih Tzus, Terriers I am a teacher, so I have a lot of flexibility in the summer months (June 25th-August 22nd). It would be my pleasure to dogsit/catsit for those going away on vacation. Please reach out to me with any questions! I offer home visits, walks and check-ins. I sadly can't offer boarding as I have a pet of my own, but I can do all other Rover services!
About: I am trained in animal welfare by AZA accredited institution, and committed to keeping your pet safe, happy, and comfortable. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and ages, and I am ready to help active dogs burn off energy with walks, run, and play. I am a long time pet owner and my first dog care experience came from my pet cockapoo "Felix". I base my daily and weekly routine around the wants and needs of the animals I am caring for to ensure their comfort and wellbeing. I keep pets comfortable by providing care in their own homes, following their routines exactly as instructed and communicating with owners as needed or wanted. On walks or trips to parks, I ensure safety with double checking leashes, getting to know the pets temperament, and staying cautious.
“John shared plenty of photos of our dog, Finley, showing that he was well cared for and happy. He showed up exactly on time and stayed for the duration requested. We will be using John again and I would recommend him to my friends.”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life and have been pet sitting for friends and family for over 7 years. I have experience with walking up to three dogs, drop ins and overnights, administering oral medications on a time sensitive schedule, and providing structure for rambunctious puppies. I love playing fetch in the yard just as much as cuddling on the couch. I look forward to meeting your fur babies! I’m currently a student taking online classes and working part time 1-2 days a week in the early morning. I have a very open and flexible schedule. I will take dogs into a fenced yard or go on walks regularly, provide enrichment with toys and treats, following mealtime schedules, and basic cleanup around the house including scooping poop in the yard.
“Stephanie took great care of my 3.5 month old mini dachshund puppy (Siggi) for a few hours while I had to be away. Stephanie was prompt, communicative, and followed instructions. Best of all, she and Siggi got along very well and I'm glad he has a new reliable friend!”

About: Experienced with reactive dogs. With a lifetime spent caring for dogs, cats, and more, I bring years of hands-on experience and am highly observant of animal behavior. I have skills for working with reactive dogs of all temperaments and training levels. Whether your pup is well-managed and needs their training reinforced, or is still learning to navigate the world, I meet each dog where they are. I understand that reactivity isn’t a choice, and I approach every dog with patience, compassion, and a focus on building their confidence and comfort. I also consider it my job to set your dog up for success, by being mindful of avoiding triggers. As a fellow pet parent, I know firsthand how hard it is to leave your loved ones at home. My own journey with Gibson, my reactive rescue and soul-dog, taught me the importance of reliability, trust, patience, and empathy in pet care. What I offer: • Experience with reactive and special needs dogs • Reliable, flexible scheduling (I’m self-employed and work from home) • Limited bookings for focused, individualized care • Skilled in administering pills and liquid medications, always using force-free, creative methods • Commitment to patience, compassion, and positive reinforcement Every pet is unique, and I tailor my care to their needs and your preferences. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet. I’d love to help your pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I am generally available midday and after standard working hours (with some morning slots available by special request). I set my own work schedule, so can ensure that your pet receives prompt care as scheduled. I’ve become overly sedentary since my own walking buddy passed away. I can provide leisurely and patient walks for pets who prefer that, and I can also provide energetic and vigorous walk/jogs for more active pets. Having had some stressful experiences with pet care as a pet parent, I am (maybe neurotically) concerned with your pet and property’s safety. First and foremost, I follow your directions. Beyond that, safety and security are paramount. If your pet has any special needs or issues that may require extra vigilance in their supervision or care, please alert me in advance. I have experience with escape artists, and fearful animals whose visits begin with a calm game of “hide and seek.” I had a ten-page care guide for my pet, so please don’t be shy in sharing information and direction that sets me up for success with your pet’s care.
“Kevin was such a great cat sitter! Falkor our cat is fairly shy, but Falkor pretty immediately felt comfortable with Kevin. Despite us having spotty service while away, Kevin still made the effort to send us plenty of updates with photos and Falkor seemed so happy! 10/10, will book Kevin again!”

About: My family has always had dogs and over the last 10+ years I have provided care for them. I have cared for my own pets, as well as many other pets on Rover with various health needs and abilities. This includes older dogs and cats, those with health/medical issues/needs, those who need medication, as well as those with other types of support needs. I genuinely get so much joy from spending time loving on the sweet fur babies of this world and look forward to ensuring that while you are away, your fur babies feel loved and well cared for :) I am generally free Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but may be able to make other days/times work occasionally! I often work from home Monday & Tuesday so those days can be more flexible depending on the week. I can occasionally do longer term stays (up to a few weeks), as long as there is a good set up for me to work from your home part time, so feel free to reach out about longer stays as well. I am flexible, and I prefer to hear from you about how you would like your fur baby to be cared for. I am happy to do whatever is easiest and most comfortable for you and your pet(s) :) I am very communicative, professional, respectful of your space and thoughtful in my care and won’t be afraid to ask questions and keep you updated on how things are going!
“Kelsey was an amazing sitter for our dog while we were away! She was great at communicating, expressing any concern she had, and updating with lots of pictures. We were able to enjoy vacation while knowing our anxious dog was in great hands and being cared for so well”

“Amy is great! She’s super patient and great with my reactive dog. Her photos and videos make it clear my dog is comfortable and happy in her care. I feel totally at ease knowing my pup is in her hands!”

“Xiaotong was absolutely fantastic! She gave us lots of photos and updates and was great about giving meds to one of the cats that needed it. We would 100% use her again in the future :)”

“Eric was very thorough with his visit recaps and took very good care of my dog. He always arrived at my house at our agreed time, gave her medicine and hung out with her while she ate dinner as she is sometimes an anxious lady. I will definitely use Eric's services again in the future as my doggy was in such good care with him!”

Liz was an incredible help with my cat Monty! Liz bonded with Monty very quickly. Liz also gave detailed updates, was prompt, and took care of everything that I asked. Monty was well cared for and I received several cute pictures each visit so that I could see how he was doing, which was reassuring. I highly recommend and will rebook Liz next time I leave town!

We had to leave last minute for a family emergency and Ivana was super helpful, responsive, and easy going. She was able to accommodate a meet and greet prior to us leaving. She was understanding with schedule changes too. I would highly recommend Ivanna for your sitting needs.

I'd give 10 stars if I could. Tyler & Alexis are so kind, attentive, and helpful. This is the longest we've ever left our Bengal cats for, and I felt so at ease knowing these two wonderful people were looking out for them. I know they were patient with my picky eater and were communicative about any one-off concerns (like surprise vomit). I feel so at ease with these two and recommend them highly for drop in visits, though they also offer other services.

Timothy always goes above and beyond for us, like bringing in our packages even though we didn't ask (thank you Timothy!!). Our cat Pepper loves him very much, which is saying something because she is a very shy girl. We always feel good leaving her in Timothy's care.

My cat (Meru) absolutely adores Diana, and that is definitely not something that can be said about most people. Every time I leave for a trip it’s a relief to know Meru will be well taken care of by Diana. She’s one of the few people I’d trust to watch my picky cat.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sunnydale. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
