But what I wanted to commend Erica on this time is that while in her care, Quinn came down with a seasonal allergy. Erica noticed immediately, took precautionary measures during a period she couldn't reach me in Indonesia, and then took Quinn into the vet and essentially had the entire issue resolved for us prior to coming home. Quinn's feeling fine and her condition on the mend, and it's all thanks to Erica's thoughtfulness and care and love of our babies!”

Daniel stays home full time, and there are usually at least two people home at all times, which gave me great peace of mind knowing our dog would never be left alone. One of their adult children has been dog sitting for years and is very experienced, and the other spent lots of time playing with our dog, which made him so happy. It’s wonderful to see how they all work together to make sure every dog gets plenty of attention and care. They kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, took our dog on walks, and made sure he felt comfortable and loved while monitoring all the dogs closely. Our dog absolutely adored them and he gave everyone tons of kisses when we picked him up, which is his special way of saying “I love you.” Their own dog, Meelo, is such a sweet dog. Even though he’s blind, they’re very mindful and careful, introducing dogs slowly so everyone feels safe and at ease. I’m so relieved to have found such a kind and reliable family who will give our dog the same care and attention we do at home. She requires day care not just walks so they adjusted their schedule to get her super early in the morning and brought her home however late we wanted so she wasn't home alone too long. They sent updates and even let Carol ride in Nikko's side car when they walk Nikko. Nikko is also so good with Carol, who has zero energy most days. 10/10 recommended”

About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.
“This was my 1st time with Daniel & Joelle, who were very accommodating. My pup did a day long to get used to them & see if she'd be a good fit for a week upcoming boarding. Everything went well. Meelo is a very sweet old guy, which is great for my pup who's been bullied & is shy at first. Though it was her 1st day & so somewhat anxiety provoking to be left, she still seemed relaxed when I picked her up & asked everyone for scratches & pets during the day. It also seemed she took a liking to their daughter Esther:) She'll try a week there a few weeks from now.”
About: I have volunteered with multiple animal shelters (including fostering), a big cat sanctuary, and has worked at a veterinary clinic and pet boarding facility. I will be your pet's main caregiver, and have also owned dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, ferrets, frogs, and turtles throughout my life. My partner Marlon loves to walk/run with dogs and has had dogs, and is a chicken lover as well! I am very prepared to handle many situations and pet personalities. I recently cared for our senior dog (18-years-old!) with medical needs, and fostered puppies, so I am very understanding of dog needs. I understand how to make dogs feel safe and part of our family, and will send daily pictures to you so you know they're in good hands. **Have pets that aren't dogs?** I also own a cat, chickens, two turtles, and frogs. I volunteer at a cat rescue and have volunteered at a big cat sanctuary, have had hamsters, ferrets, an iguana, axolotls, fish.... I can handle most animals, just ask! **Notes** - Rates are per 24 hours. There will be an additional late fee of $5.00 for every hour past the agreed time for pick-up, unless you clearly communicate with us about your timeline. - Housesitting includes an overnight stay and care as needed (feeding, walks, and potty breaks) throughout the day. I may need to care for other clients or my own pets, or go into work. If you require constant care (24hrs per day, animal cannot be left alone), this needs to be arranged beforehand and the price will be higher than my regular housesitting rate. I work from home so time for pet care is flexible, I usually have plenty of time for walks or hikes with dogs that are visiting. I have a fenced yard and have the ability to make zones within my home if it's necessary. I try to stick to the typical schedule the animals are used to, to the best of my ability and schedule.
