“Jenna was amazing! Super responsive and kept me updated while she cared for my kitty! She’s a cat whisperer btw lol, my cat is normally very scared of new people but she happily greeted Jenna on the first visit. Definitely recommend to others!”

“Jessica was absolutely amazing and so attentive when stopping by! She came by for a meet and greet and I could tell right away she could get along with any animal & human, very sweet person! My cat Percy loved her and I could tell when I got home that he had been extremely well taken care of. She wrote very nice & long reviews each visit which when on vacation I absolutely LOVE !! Thank you Jessica!”

About: Personally and professionally dedicated to animal care and welfare. I have a Bachelors degree in Animal Science, a career working in farm animal welfare and management and personal experience of caring for my own dogs and horses for over 15 years. I've raised two rescue pups and provided care and house sitting for sweet seniors. I blend together my personal, educational and professional training to my care of your best friends. My schedule can be flexible, mostly on weekends, to walk and give your sweet family member some snuggles while you're away. I can also be available early mornings or evenings during the weekdays. I always want to set up a time to connect with you and your pet before scheduling any care services so I get to know you both and how I can be most helpful. It's also helpful to have a brief home overview so I know how to respect your space.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a teenager. I now have a rescue dog that is 111lbs, & at 6 years old still thinks he’s a puppy. So I can handle a lot of dog sizes, weights & personalities. Here for walks or check ins & feeding if you’re out of town or need help. Message me! 🐕🦮🐕🦺 I am available for afternoon and evening walks, check ins, feeding and play time. I am also available on weekends and Fridays after 12pm. Just let me know what works for you! I have a large dog at home that is a lot to handle so boarding in my home would be difficult. I am trustworthy and caring so you can trust your furry family member in my care.

About: I have had dogs in my family for my entire life and have been around them for over 30 years. I have a cattle dog Bjorn, and grew up with those, and my cousin has 2 large breed mix dogs that I also love to spend time with. We have 2 cats in our house as well, an orange cat named Fritz and a siamese named Tut. I am currently working part time, and on summer break, so I have lots of time available to assist with feeding and walking dogs currently. I am an experienced walker and have no issues following special instructions to make sure your pup is safe and cared for the way they recognize.

About: I've owned pets my whole life and spent my childhood living on a ranch with just about every farm animal you can name. Now, as an adult living a more suburban lifestyle, I'm happy to provide loving care for your dog and/or cat in a home-based, high attention environment. As a dog mom myself, I know how difficult it is to trust a stranger with your fur child and the importance of continuing the love and care your pet receives at home. I'm available for boarding on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. My husband and I work mostly remote, so your fur baby will receive plenty of attention and companionship from both ourselves and our mini dachshund, Charlie! We have a small fenced-in backyard with concrete and turf for potty breaks. Overnight fur guests will have both indoor and outdoor access and can be crated in the downstairs living room during nighttime sleep hours. Blankets, toys, and preferred treats are welcome to help provide your pet with a sense of home.

“Sophia was the perfect sitter for my cat while I was away for vacation. She was very trustworthy and respectful of my home and my pet - 2 of the most important things in life! She has great experience and definitely cares and it shows. I would definitely recommend and/or book her again.”

“I can always count on Kaitlyn. Cat and dog love her. She recently responding on really short notice and baled me out when I needed to spend the day away from my critters.”

“Natalie is awesome. She has done a few drop ins for my cat. I used to leave him home alone, but he wouldn’t eat well and nervous when I got home. I love now that I come home and he is as content as can be. He eats and uses his litter box. He isn’t nervous and I love that I get so many pictures that I don’t feel guilty about taking the dog and leaving the cat lol. I think he’s getting as spoiled as the dog. Natalie is awesome.”

“Michelle always does an incredible job making sure my babies are well taken care of! Her message & photo updates are frequent and informative, she’s very thorough in completing any tasks that are requested to be done, and she’s super responsive with communication. My kitties all love and trust her and I do as well! 😸”

About: I’ve had/taken care of dogs since I could remember, I currently have two male dogs & two girl cats. I used to work at WAG Hotels, which is a hotel for pets. I’ve also volunteered at Bradshaw Animal Shelter before and that’s where I adopted my sweet boy Brent. I love playing fetch with my dogs as well as taking them on walks. I’ve had experience with puppies and senior dogs that require medication. I’m currently working full time at Costco. My shifts are 4am-1pm so I’m available after 1:30pm. I’m available on Sundays mornings and evenings. On Saturdays I can be available after 3pm. I live in a home with a big backyard which is fenced and the front yard is also fenced. I have a spare room that I use to keep my puppy while I’m away at work that can be used for a guest pet.
“I absolutely love booking Elizabeth! She takes such amazing care of my cats and truly treats them like her own. She’s incredibly thoughtful and attentive to their well-being, and her updates always give me such peace of mind. Elizabeth is super communicative, reliable, and always sends lots of adorable photos, which I really appreciate. I couldn’t ask for a better sitter! Highly recommend!”

About: *accepting weekend or evening clients!* I looooooove dogs. If I could spend my free time with dogs instead of people, that’s always the choice. I’m currently back to school working on my bachelors degree during the week, but I like to take care of dogs in my free time. It’s the perfect job while going to school. I've taken care of our family dogs, friend's dogs when they're out of town, and my own dogs. I did this a few years ago and would like to get back into it. I'm always on time, I reread instructions so I don’t ever miss anything, and want to give owners peace of mind leaving their dogs in someone else’s hands. I have my own two dogs, Reece and Azriel, so I know the struggle of trusting new people with them, and I know I’m fully capable of caring for others dogs as well. I’m fully available evenings after 5, Thursday evening - Sunday fully available. I have classes Monday-Thursday all day, so Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the most available for me. My wife and I alternate feedings and walkings depending on our schedules, and it works well for us. I’m usually the morning walker and she does the day while I’m at school. We play, we walk, we give treats and snuggles all throughout the day. I'd love to be able to do the same for another family.
About: I have over 8 years of pet care experience ranging from friends and family, volunteering at my local SPCA, and having my own fur Babies. I’ve grown up around animals since I was born and have always had such a huge love and care for them, they’re a huge stress reliever for me and I love to care for them! Which is why I took up pet sitting and walking on this app! :) I currently have open availability! I am extremely flexible and am more than happy to take clients last minute! I am also happy to accommodate to any sudden schedule changes. If needed I can follow set schedules, give oral medicine, or any other special care you may want! I always strive to be well informed before taking on or walking any pet! I know it can be uneasy having a new person to take care of your pet which is why I always treat them how I would want anyone to treat my furbaby!
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who’s been around dogs my entire life. Caring for them comes naturally to me, and I treat every pup like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or sticking to their routine, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away! I have two dogs. Pet care would fit into my daily routine as if it were my own. I feed my dogs, walk them 3-4 times a day and give them a lot of opportunities to get out their energy. I always keep the dogs I am sitting on a leash. If I am at someone else’s home I follow the rules that are left for me so that every animal stays safe and is well taken care of as if I was their owner.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Sacramento
Jandy was extremely attentive to our cats while we were away and remembered little things about them that we had shared that seemed to make us being away easier on them! She did a lot more than just clean litters and feed them—the interaction was key to make us feel like our kitties were doing okay without us. She was patient with our cat who can be a cranky to others. 10/10 recommend!

Taylor has been excellent!! Super consistent and communicative. She does a great job making sure I am informed about what goes on during the visits and ask for feedback on what she can improve which I really appreciate. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great sitter for their pets.

Avery is absolutely AMAZING! She took such incredible care of our babies and treated them with the same love and attention we do. Coming home to happy, relaxed dogs who barely seemed to notice we had been gone was the biggest sign of how well they were cared for. It was obvious they felt safe, loved, and completely adored while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! We will 100% be booking with Avery again and recommending her to everyone we know. Thank you so much, Avery, you are truly the best. We’re so grateful for you!

Michael was a fantastic dog sitter for our dog, Maggie. He was friendly, professional, and clearly comfortable working with dogs. Maggie was well cared for which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Communication was excellent, and the entire experience was smooth and stress-free. We look forward to working with Michael again and would gladly recommend him to others.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
