“Jenna was amazing! Super responsive and kept me updated while she cared for my kitty! She’s a cat whisperer btw lol, my cat is normally very scared of new people but she happily greeted Jenna on the first visit. Definitely recommend to others!”

“ulie has been amazing looking after my pup. Ziggy recently turned one and has been by my side for most of the time. This has been a sudden routine change for both of us, me going into the office. Julie has helped us both with this transition. She’s extremely communicative, sends a ton of pictures of a very happy dog. I will continue to use her services and have peace that my pup is in good hands.”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a teenager. I now have a rescue dog that is 111lbs, & at 6 years old still thinks he’s a puppy. So I can handle a lot of dog sizes, weights & personalities. Here for walks or check ins & feeding if you’re out of town or need help. Message me! 🐕🦮🐕🦺 I am available for afternoon and evening walks, check ins, feeding and play time. I am also available on weekends and Fridays after 12pm. Just let me know what works for you! I have a large dog at home that is a lot to handle so boarding in my home would be difficult. I am trustworthy and caring so you can trust your furry family member in my care.
“Jessica was absolutely amazing and so attentive when stopping by! She came by for a meet and greet and I could tell right away she could get along with any animal & human, very sweet person! My cat Percy loved her and I could tell when I got home that he had been extremely well taken care of. She wrote very nice & long reviews each visit which when on vacation I absolutely LOVE !! Thank you Jessica!”

“Kaitlyn has done drop-ins for us multiple times now and always does an excellent job! Very responsible and communicative. We love booking with her and would recommend her to others!”

“We were so grateful to have Natalie dropping in on our pup while we were away for a weekend. She was very communicative and Laika loved her. We highly recommend her!!”

About: I have taken care of my aunts two dogs while on vacation for many years. I am currently responsible for her two dogs while she’s out of town multiple times a year. I also dog AND cat sit for my sister in law multiple times a year- she has 4 cats and a pit bull. I correctly work part time, and I am usually free after 3PM on weekdays. My weekends are open all day. I am happy to accept last minute requests as long as I’m available!! I do not currently plan on having pets in my own home, but I plan to follow the pet parents requests and rules as they know what’s best for their babies.

About: I have had dogs in my family for my entire life and have been around them for over 30 years. I have a cattle dog Bjorn, and grew up with those, and my cousin has 2 large breed mix dogs that I also love to spend time with. We have 2 cats in our house as well, an orange cat named Fritz and a siamese named Tut. I am currently working part time, and on summer break, so I have lots of time available to assist with feeding and walking dogs currently. I am an experienced walker and have no issues following special instructions to make sure your pup is safe and cared for the way they recognize.

About: *currently on summer break - so open availability until August 31st!* I looooooove dogs. If I could spend my free time with dogs instead of people, that’s always the choice. I’m currently back to school working on my bachelors degree during the week, but I like to take care of dogs in my free time. It’s the perfect job while going to school. I've taken care of our family dogs, friend's dogs when they're out of town, and my own dogs. I did this a few years ago and would like to get back into it. I'm always on time, I reread instructions so I don’t ever miss anything, and want to give owners peace of mind leaving their dogs in someone else’s hands. I have my own two dogs, Reece and Azriel, so I know the struggle of trusting new people with them, and I know I’m fully capable of caring for others dogs as well. I’m fully available since I’m on summer break until August 31st. Once school starts again, I can do early mornings and early evenings, and will be free throughout the weekend. My wife and I alternate feedings and walkings depending on our schedules, and it works well for us. I’m usually the morning walker and she does the day while I’m at school. We play, we walk, we give treats and snuggles all throughout the day. I'd love to be able to do the same for another family.
“Thank you Carrie!!! She did a great job taking care of Cleo and was great at troubleshooting. There was an apartment issue and she helped work with me remotely to solve it. Thank you thank you! She communicated quickly on the app and always provided updates from her check ins. There is nothing more I could have asked for.”

“Haley was a great sitter for our two cats! She was attentive, provided great updates, and was super flexible when we changed the dates for which we needed her. We will absolutely have her watch our kitties again!”

About: I’ve had/taken care of dogs since I could remember, I currently have two male dogs & two girl cats. I used to work at WAG Hotels, which is a hotel for pets. I’ve also volunteered at Bradshaw Animal Shelter before and that’s where I adopted my sweet boy Brent. I love playing fetch with my dogs as well as taking them on walks. I’ve had experience with puppies and senior dogs that require medication. I’m currently working full time at Costco. My shifts are 4am-1pm so I’m available after 1:30pm. I’m available on Sundays mornings and evenings. On Saturdays I can be available after 3pm. I live in a home with a big backyard which is fenced and the front yard is also fenced. I have a spare room that I use to keep my puppy while I’m away at work that can be used for a guest pet.
About: I'm a huge animal lover who has been surrounded by animals for my whole life. I've personally owned and cared for several dogs, cats, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and a surprising number of hermit crabs. I went to UC Davis for animal science, and have worked professionally with rodents for several years. I feel comfortable working with a wide variety of animals, including things like reptiles that I haven't personally owned. I'm well versed in animal health issues so you can rely on me to point out if I think anything weird is up with your pet. Also, I have a lot of experience with post-op care and giving medications, so I'm also more than happy to help on that front! I recently quit my day job to focus on my online master's program, so I have a lot of availability! My schooling is asynchronous so I don't have to plan too much around classes, but I do have my own dog at home which is why I'm hesitant to do overnight stays. I'm hesitant to care for cats or dogs in my own home because my own dog has an iffy history meeting others, and I wouldn't want to risk anyone getting hurt with him. However, easily transportable pocket pets are more than welcome in my home, as the dog and all my cats have a history of coexisting nicely with cages animals! Otherwise, I'm all about following directions as closely as possible, and would never do anything outside of what I've been instructed to do. I know what it's like to entrust your pets in the care of someone else, and it can be really scary and nerve wracking. I'm happy to send update photos, have video calls, or anything else that helps everyone feel comfortable!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for years and understand that every dog has their own unique personality and needs. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone who will treat your pet with the same love and care you do. I have experience with daily walks, feeding, playtime, administering routines, and providing lots of attention and companionship. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages throughout each visit. Caring for my own dog has also taught me patience, consistency, and how to recognize when a dog needs extra space or a calmer approach. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. My availability is flexible, and I’m happy to accommodate your pup’s preferred walking times, whether they need morning exercise, midday breaks, or evening strolls. As a dog mom, I know how important it is to trust someone with your pup. I provide patient, attentive walks focused on safety and happiness.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Sacramento
One of the best dog sitters for the hard to reach dog. Our pup is up there as the toughest customer ( fearful anxious ) & we appreciate Kelcya's calm, steady approach to providing care, meds & feeding. Even when the dog refuses all attempts to eat his meds/food a good chunk of the time, Kelcya keeps on trying. It's means a lot when your miles away, just knowing your pups are safe & cared for by a professional. Thank you!

Jandy was extremely attentive to our cats while we were away and remembered little things about them that we had shared that seemed to make us being away easier on them! She did a lot more than just clean litters and feed them—the interaction was key to make us feel like our kitties were doing okay without us. She was patient with our cat who can be a cranky to others. 10/10 recommend!

Taylor has been excellent!! Super consistent and communicative. She does a great job making sure I am informed about what goes on during the visits and ask for feedback on what she can improve which I really appreciate. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great sitter for their pets.

Avery is absolutely AMAZING! She took such incredible care of our babies and treated them with the same love and attention we do. Coming home to happy, relaxed dogs who barely seemed to notice we had been gone was the biggest sign of how well they were cared for. It was obvious they felt safe, loved, and completely adored while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! We will 100% be booking with Avery again and recommending her to everyone we know. Thank you so much, Avery, you are truly the best. We’re so grateful for you!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
