“We have a fearful senior rescue dog with a complicated history, and Liz has been great about doing an initial meet-and-great and then an extended drop-in to spend time with our dog alone. She very much understands how to interact with a fearful dog who needs time to feel trusting. Her experience as the guardian of a rescue dog herself definitely comes into play. She was punctual, cheerful, and generous-minded, and we really appreciate her willingness to work with Penny! We will definitely use her again.”

“Melissa was so helpful in taking care of Mila. She was communicative, reliable, and played with Mila to make sure she could burn off energy. You can tell she truly cares about animals and I am so grateful for her help.”

“Rachel was communicative, reliable, and made my first Rover experience a positive one. She proactively checked in before my trip, sent fun updates during each visit, and seemed to follow all of the instructions I left. I’d be happy to book with her again.”

“Gaelen and Shenelle are great with our active dog. They are always willing to step in (even last minute) and we really appreciate that about them.”

About: I have been obsessed with animals of all kinds since birth but my love for dogs started with my very first pup - Buck the black lab, who I grew up with. As I kid I started my own dog walking business putting up posters all around the streets of Long Beach. And then my very first job as a teenager was at PetSmart at their Pet Hotel caring for dogs in boarding and doggie daycare. Since then I have consistently volunteered in dog rescue working at adoption events and caring for dogs onsite at their facilities. While I am working on building my own small business, nothing would bring me more joy than you care for your sweet pups while you're away. I am currently working on building my own small artisan ice cream business and I am looking to help supplement my income part time while still doing something I am passionate about! I am available to walk and check in on your pet (or even take them on a nice hike) most weekdays especially in the morning or midday hours. I am available some weekends as well if planned in advance! I have a lot of experience house and pet sitting so I take caring for a pet inside of their own space very seriously. Dogs LOVE routine so I am more than happy to follow all of the typical feeding, medication, and training routines that you have already established with your pet. We can also go on walking routes that your dog is already most comfortable with.
About: Hi there! Huge fan of furry, four-legged friends here. I have 9 years cumulative experience working directly with dogs in a doggy daycare setting as well as through the Wag! app(cats too!). My experience with animal care in general extends back to since I was a young adult caring for family pets and neighbors’ pets. Most of those animals were cats and dogs, though I did also care for rabbits and reptiles. I’m excited to be here and looking forward to meeting new people and animals through this platform! :) In addition to pet care, I have one job that requires me to be away from home on Mondays from 11am-4pm and every other Wednesday(usually 1-3pm but timing flexible). Beyond that, I have some scheduled and scattered dog walks throughout the week, so I am able to pop back and forth frequently to check in on boarded animals that might be staying over! I have a gated yard, large kennel, dog bed, and tons of toys, treats, and bowls on site to accommodate your pup(s) or cat(s)! I don’t have any animals of my own at the moment, though I do have a decent number of plant babies in the house and yard. I also have a doggy first aid kit and I am planning on getting certified for CPR!
“Luke was so thorough, respectful, and punctual. He maintained open communication throughout the booking and walking process. He took great care of our baby girl and helped us know she was in good hands. Thank you so much Luke!”

About: I’ve been a huge animal lover since I was a little kid! I grew up pet sitting for neighbors and friends, and picked up lots of dog walking gigs. In my summer and winter breaks from school, I worked for a professional pet sitting company, called the right fluff, and cared for dogs, cats, hamsters, and more! I have experience with house sitting as well as smaller check ups, and dog walking! I have experience administering oral pills. I also have experience with senior dogs, puppies, and every age in between. I love animals and would love to meet yours! I currently work weekdays 10:30am-4:30pm. On weekdays I would be able to provide visits before and after and I’m able to do overnights as well. On weekends I am off and am able to do more frequent visits or walks. I have lots of experience working with dogs with different temperaments. I’m able to crate a dog, put on a harness, administer oral pills, and I’ve taken a pet first aid course. I’m used to cleaning up any accidents as well! I have worked with dogs with lots of different temperaments!
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, including many many guests, and I treat every animal in my house like family. I know that every guest needs something different and I put real effort into making sure they are comfortable and HAPPY. I do not believe in negative reinforcement, and I focus on building trust through patience. I know that settling into a new home can be overwhelming for some pups. To make this easy, my house is set up to cater to as many different needs as possible. I have a dedicated room (my gym) for dogs that need to be alone and watch Bluey on the TV in there, but I prefer to make my guests comfortable to lounge on the many dog beds I have scattered around the house. Also, my home features solid flooring, so I have 0 issue with catering to nerves while your fur baby is settling in. I do my best to make them comfortable while they are in a temporary new pack. I also have crates available if your dog finds comfort in that. Their choice. But otherwise, they have the run of the place just like any loved family animal should. I have a secure fenced yard and I never leave my guests outside even for a short time, and then they are back inside with me. I also play, however much your fur baby wants to. Fetch, soccer, whatever makes them happy. This is the best part of this job. My goal is to provide a calm, affectionate environment where your dog feels safe, understood, and truly at home while you’re away. I work as a consultant with a flexible schedule, which means I am home and available for my guests throughout the day. My routine is built around the dogs—we do morning yard time, afternoon play sessions (soccer and fetch are favorites), and plenty of lounging in between. Because I’m based at home, I can provide the consistent supervision and companionship that helps dogs feel secure when they are in a new space without their humans. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully secured, fenced yard for outdoor play, but I never leave guests unattended outside; we go out together and come back in together. Inside, my home is designed for dogs, featuring solid flooring for easy cleanup and a dedicated room with Bluey on TV for pups who need a break. Whether your dog prefers to snuggle on one of the many beds scattered around or on the couch or in an open crate, I happily accommodate their needs.
“Sasha is the ideal care giver for pets! She’s attentive, so caring and gentle, and a great communicator! My cats loved her and it was a relief to know they were well cared for!”

About: My name's Kat and I absolutely love dogs! I've been taking care of them for over 20 years. I also volunteer at the local animal shelters as a dog walker so am extremely comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. My current fur babies are a 16 year old Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie) named Sophie and a 6 year old poodle-bichon mix named Wally. We are a package deal. :) We live in a small house with beautiful fenced-in backyard in mid-city. Together, Sophie, Wally and I will make sure your pup has an amazing time during their stay! We look forward to meeting you! I work normal hours running a small business from home so am able to give lots of attention to your pup! We typically take 2 shorter walks a day, generally around 15-20 minutes each. I also take a longer walk (about an hour) around lunch time and will bring along any higher-energy dogs I’m watching who need more exercise. Playtime happens whenever your dog wants! Wally loves playing with his toys and other dogs, so they will have a playmate if they come over. The house is on the corner lot and has a fenced-in backyard that I let the pups out in every couple hours. I will always greet you first with Sophie and Wally outside to ensure the pups will be just fine, but Sophie and Wally are sweet and used to having friends around so that hasn’t been an issue in the past. Inside we have hardwood floors. The space is a decent size with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen area, so large enough to separate the dogs if needed. Dogs are allowed on the furniture. The pups have full roam of the house. They are both super chill. Sophie mainly cuddles up in her bed under my desk as I work or chooses to hide and sleep under my bed. Wally hangs out in the AC in the living room and watches out the front window - he’s the “neighborhood watch.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats over the last few years. I didn’t have pets growing up but have always adored furry friends. I have experience with drop-ins and walking, and am ready to help take care of your family members. Pictured in my profile is my family shiba inu named Kohaku! I work in radio, but my schedule is very flexible! I am available most weekends and work from home two days of the week. On office days I am available after 3pm. Communication is key! I am able to provide whatever is needed as long as we discuss ahead of time to ensure a safe and loving environment for your pets in your home.
About: I love doggies and am extremely dedicated to making sure they are in a safe and loving environment. I’ve been taking my puppy for training classes and love to see him learn and grow. I also have a lot of patience and approach caring for my pup with positive reinforcement and tons of love. I work from home 3 days a week so I have flexibility in my schedule to dog sit during the work day. I schedule morning and afternoon walks as well as play time. I personally take my pup out for 3-4 walks a day ranging from (15-30 ) minutes. We have access to an open space right in our back yard and a big lawn for pups to sniff around in. We do not have a fenced yard so I leash my puppy. I also have a crate at home but to be completely honestly I do not mind cuddling with my pups and let them take naps on our couch or bean bag. Since I do have a puppy he gets along best with other doggies who like to play.
“Vuanh dropped in to check on Frankie twice during a busy weekend for me and he couldn't have been sweeter with my pup. He kept me up to date and sent awesome photos! So happy to have found a great dog sitter nearby!”

“Amy was exceptional! Super communicative and made sure my lil guy was well taken care of, despite his anti-social behavior! 10/10 would recommend Amy to anyone in need of a cat sitter! ☺️”

“Literally, Amber is a life saver. I needed a last minute pet sitter & she was a perfect sitter for my boy Smokey. He’s on three different types of medication twice a day and she was on it! Updated pictures & spent quality time with Smokey. 10/10 recommend, she even left a sweet card, checked on me when I returned home, and some snack for her new furry bff.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, including cats, dogs, and horses, which has given me hands-on experience with pets of all sizes and temperaments. With my mom being a veterinarian, I was exposed early on to proper animal care, health awareness, and the importance of patience and compassion when working with pets. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering basic medications, grooming, exercise needs, and recognizing signs that something may be off. In addition to caring for my own animals, I regularly look after friends’ pets, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Because I work from home, I’m able to maintain your pet’s normal routine, whether that means regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, or medication schedules. I’m home for the majority of the day, so pets in my care won’t be left alone for long periods and will receive plenty of companionship, engagement, and care. Working remotely makes it easy for me to prioritize their comfort and needs while ensuring they feel safe and well cared for. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I follow all feeding, medication, and routine instructions carefully, ensuring pets feel secure and comfortable. In your home, I respect your space while keeping pets safe, happy, and on their usual schedule. I provide regular updates so you can relax knowing your pet is well cared for.
West Adams pet parents share their Rover experiences
I happened to be looking through the camera when Madeline arrived to see my dog. His tail almost falls off. He was so happy! I turned off the camera and went on to do what I needed to do knowing he was fine! I got so many pictures! I loved the pictures of his feedings! Upon returning Tuna was happy, his just -in - case wee-wee pads had been changed. Everything was fine. I asked her a few things and gave so many detailed instructions and she always replied with a great attitude. I highly recommend her!!!

Alessandra is an excellent sitter! She has great communication, and I always felt that my baby was in caring and professional hands. I truly appreciated her last-minute availability and flexibility. I would absolutely love to work with her again and highly recommend her to others!

I took a chance booking Janelle last minute for over two weeks of daily visits and I’m so glad I did! She was so sweet and communicative, cleaned up after my kitty in multiple ways, and even took out my trash at the end of the job. I will definitely be booking with Janelle again!

Mariah was an excellent pet sitter! She provided great communication throughout the stay, including regular updates and pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. She was also able to make last minute accommodations to best fit my puppy’s needs, and I truly appreciated her flexibility and care. My puppy was well taken care of, and I would absolutely love to work with Mariah again in the future. Highly recommend!

Emily was absolutely amazing. She watched our two kitties for a week while we were away, and I felt so comfortable with them in her care. She sent tons of updates, pictures, and went above and beyond to clean up after them, play with them, and bond with them. I can tell they already miss her, and we can’t wait to book her again the next time we leave town.

Yuliia was wonderful! She was great with the cats and very communicative. I loved all the photos she sent and she was proactive about things like the litter box and checking on the food levels for their feeder. I would definitely recommend Yuliia as a cat sitter for anyone looking for a sitter for their cats!
