About: I have grown up with dogs since I was 5 years old caring for 3 dogs till old age! I have experience caring for senior dogs and have demonstrated patience in caring for my senior dog until he was 19. I am currently job seeking, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to take care of dogs! I am free mostly in the daytime but can adjust if needed. About: I’ve been caring for pets for more than 30 years, both my own and those belonging to friends and family. Over time, I became the person people call when they need someone they genuinely trust with their animals and their home. For years, pet sitting has simply been part of my life. I’m the go-to sitter for many of my friends, and I’ve reached the point where I want to make caring for animals a much more significant part of what I do. I’ve cared for pets through every stage of life, from healthy, energetic animals to seniors with complex medical needs. The longest I cared for one pet was 15 years. That experience taught me how important it is to know what is normal for an individual animal and to notice when something changes. That is a big part of how I approach pet sitting. I pay attention. I learn their routines, how they communicate, what makes them comfortable, and what stresses them out. I notice changes in appetite, energy, behavior, bathroom habits, breathing, vocalization, and the other small things that can tell you an animal is not feeling quite right. I’m also very comfortable following detailed care instructions. I have experience with special diets, oral medications, senior-pet care, behavioral issues, and more involved care routines. I understand that when an animal has specific needs, consistency matters. At the same time, I don’t believe every pet needs to be handled the same way. Some animals want constant companionship. Others prefer a little distance until they decide they trust you. Some want long walks and lots of play. Others are happiest sleeping nearby while you leave them alone. I don’t force interaction. I let the animal tell me what kind of relationship they are comfortable having with me. My goal when house sitting is to keep their life as normal as possible while you’re gone. That means maintaining their feeding, walking, play, medication, and sleep routines as closely as I can, while giving them the level of companionship they are used to. I also send regular updates and photos so you don’t have to wonder how things are going at home. And I take the “house” part of house sitting seriously. I treat someone else’s home with the same respect I would want someone to show mine. I keep the space clean and orderly, water plants, bring in mail and packages, take care of the ordinary household tasks that still need to happen while you’re away, and handle minor issues when I reasonably can. The feedback I hear most often is that the animals are happy and relaxed when their people return, and the house looks great. That’s exactly what I want. I want you to come home to happy pets, a cared-for home, and the feeling that while you were away, everything was in good hands. I work mostly from home, with the occasional job taking me out of the home for a few hours at a time. Sometimes as little as 2 hours, and sometimes as much as 8. I tend to schedule all my work and pet-sitting around each other so there's no conflict. For puppies, I won't leave them for more than an hour at a time, as they need more bathroom breaks. For smaller dogs, I try to cap it at 3-4 hours. Larger dogs can handle me being away for about 6 hours, and cats I can leave for up to 8. I follow each pet’s established routine closely and let trust develop at their pace. I’m attentive to changes in behavior or health, keep the home secure and orderly, and handle basic household needs while you’re away. My goal is simple: happy pets, a cared-for home, and no surprises when you return.

About: My first dog was when I was 5 yrs old and have had 6 since then. I have been a reliable source for my friends to love their dogs like my own and have dog sat, walked, and even taken them camping for a nature break. I chose River to fill the void of not being allowed dogs where I live. They are simply the best! About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and connecting with animals of all kinds is my greatest joy. Rescued is my favourite breed, and I specialize in watching senior pets and special needs pets. I have experience with seniors who require medications and particular care, as well as special needs, including but not limited to blind, deaf, and three-legged pets. I have a flexible work schedule and when I’m not at work, I’m a huge homebody and live alone, so your pet will get tons of one-on-one attention and love. I don’t have any dogs or cats of my own, and I only watch one dog at a time, so if your pet needs to be the sole pet, then we are a perfect fit. I do have one sweet senior guinea pig; she can be secured in another room if you’re worried about your pet bothering her. I absolutely love watching small pets as well and have tons of experience with guinea pigs. Please note that I currently work hybrid and go into work 2-3x a week. However I only have to be there from 10-3, so your pet would only be alone for a max of five hours. Luckily my work is super flexible, so if I need to adjust my hours or office days for your pet, please let me know and I can adjust my schedule. My office is also super dog friendly, if you think they’d like to come with me! My place is very quiet; I live alone and never have people over, and I’m home most of the time, so I’m great for anxious or shy pets. I also only board one dog at a time, so your pet will get 100% of my attention, which is also great for shy and nervous dogs who don’t do well with other dogs. (If you have two dogs I’m happy to watch them together, I just don’t watch dogs from different families at once.) I don’t have a backyard, but I do have a spacious balcony for your dog to sunbathe. I’m on the top floor and my building has an elevator, which is ideal for senior and special needs pups. Your pet is welcome anywhere in my apartment, from the couch to my bed, my home is their home.

About: I've grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. I put my all into making sure they are safe, fed, and most importantly, happy. I currently have a female cat of my own. I work from home Monday-Friday. My job is not very demanding so I'm usually hanging out, watching tv, and playing with my cat Freya. I feed her at 8am and 6pm with little snacks or kibble available throughout the day. She has a Litter Robot that she loves to use. She has access to the entire house, but our guest bedroom is the dedicated "cat room" if your cat is overwhelmed by newer spaces. I live in a 3 story apartment/townhome with laminate floors throughout. I keep my space very clean and tidy to ensure there is never anything dangerous or dirty out in the open. Cats that stay with me can have access to the entire home, or I can put a second litter box in the guest bedroom and allow them to call that their home away from home. Complete with toys and a cat tower and windows for endless entertainment. If pet sitting at your home, I am well versed in feeding and litter clean up, accidents, play time, and giving attention. I think seeing a happy cat is fulfilling, so I intend to make sure any visits end with a smile.
