“Stephanie was a great cat sitter. She really helped us out when another Rover sitter canceled and it was getting closer to our departure. She responded immediately and we set up a meet and greet. All went well and we booked her that day. I didn't manage my time effectively and ended up leaving a small note about staying at our apartment and our cat Meka. No problem, we were able to communicate through text and she just knew what to do anyway. She sent pictures every morning and also extra ones with cute poses. I could see Meka had made a new friend. Our plane got in late and she stayed to make sure the cat was feed. Everything was in order and our plants were even taken care of. Don't hesitate book Stephanie, we would again.”
About: I'm incredibly responsible and have a deep, lifelong love for animals. I cared for my dog for 16 years and my cat for 18, both well into their senior years. My dog recently passed, and I miss him every day. Joining Rover felt like a natural next step, as I'm not quite ready to get another dog of my own. I have hands-on experience with senior pet care, kidney disease management, and the administration of subcutaneous fluids. I also volunteer at a farm sanctuary. My office is in the Arts District, so I can walk dogs in the neighborhood before/after work and on my lunch break. For pet sitting I can work remotely from your home, or bring your dog to work with me if they prefer a change of scenery. I'm extremely responsible and will make sure your instructions are followed. I've spent over 10 years caring for animals, including 16 years with my own dog and 18 years with my cat, both of whom have since passed. About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and connecting with animals of all kinds is my greatest joy. Rescued is my favourite breed, and I specialize in watching senior pets and special needs pets. I have experience with seniors who require medications and particular care, as well as special needs, including but not limited blind, deaf, and three-legged pets. I have a flexible work schedule and when I’m not at work, I’m a huge homebody and live alone, so your pet will get tons of one-on-one attention and love. I don’t have any dogs or cats of my own, and I only watch one dog at a time, so if your pet needs to be the sole pet, then we are a perfect fit. I do have one sweet senior guinea pig; she can be secured in another room if you’re worried about your pet bothering her. I absolutely love watching small pets as well and have tons of experience with guinea pigs. Please note that I currently work hybrid and go into work 2-3x a week. However I only have to be there from 10-3, so your pet would only be alone for a max of five hours. Luckily my work is super flexible, so if I need to adjust my hours or office days for your pet, please let me know and I can adjust my schedule. My office is also super dog friendly, if you think they’d like to come with me! My place is very quiet; I live alone and never have people over, and I’m home most of the time, so I’m great for anxious or shy pets. I also only board one dog at a time, so your pet will get 100% of my attention, which is also great for shy and nervous dogs who don’t do well with other dogs. (If you have two dogs I’m happy to watch them together, I just don’t watch dogs from different families at once.) I don’t have a backyard, but I do have a spacious balcony for your dog to sunbathe. I’m on the top floor and my building has an elevator, which is ideal for senior and special needs pups. Your pet is welcome anywhere in my apartment, from the couch to my bed, my home is their home.

She actually got my kitten, Mookie, and my older cat, Toni, to play together! I came home to three happy, relaxed pets. Omg Luke is the BEST! I’m a crazy dog mom and luke was so calm, sweet and kind with me and my dog. He was super communicative - definitely has become my go-to dog sitter forever now. Emily crushed it! She was super throughout the entire process. Will definitely use again. She was very proactive from the first message - setting up a meet and greet. She was great with Rory during the meeting. For the stay, she was also great! Updates came in frequently, she asked questions, etc. Zero concerns or questions with how our pet was doing. At the end of the stay, she provided an overall summary and some thoughts on Rory which were super helpful. Our house was kept as if no one had stayed here - in a good way! Clean and tidy. Ashton stayed in my home, with my dog Lulu, for two weeks while I traveled for work. Most importantly Lulu was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for when I returned. Ashton was also just a great house guest. She was clean, quiet, and communicative. 10/10 will rebook with Ashton!
What can I say about Sam. Upon meeting Sam for the first time I had a good feeling. Super professional, calm and kind. We had never hired someone to take care of our (very) needy, (terribly) grumpy dog so we were really nervous about how it would go. Usually our dog stays with family who already knows his deal. We didn’t know quite how to prepare someone new let alone what to ask. Sam was very patient and helped us through the process. After meeting Sam there was no doubt he would be our sitter. He was so sweet with our dog and the quirks we warned Sam about were no deterrent at all. His view on pet care, especially those in their golden years is very special. Speaks to the kind heart Sam has. We had a tight turn around between trips and Sam was very understanding and flexible (and didn’t I mention kind??) with us when dealing with logistics. Sam sent pictures of our dog and had great communication while we were away. I could tell our grouchy guy was in heaven from the updates despite our pup having to get eye drops which wasn’t a problem for Sam at all. Long story short, Sam is a lovely human who takes pride in what he does, truly cares about the animals in his care. No doubt would recommend Sam in a heartbeat and would use Sam again.
Angel is wonderful and we were so happy to have him care for our dog while we were away for a holiday weekend. He is very professional and caring and it’s clear he knows how to find the right approach to different dogs. He gave our boy plenty of exercise, walks, hikes, and play time and was consistent about sending pictures and updates!
Kay was a fantastic house and dog sitter. We were away for a week, and she took wonderful care of our two dogs. It was clear she genuinely enjoyed spending time with them, and she went above and beyond throughout her stay. She sent us lots of photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We came home to an immaculate house with everything in perfect order. I can’t recommend Kay highly enough!
Georgie absolutely loved her time with Katy! It was so nice to have a sitter who paid such close attention to my dog’s needs and sent daily updates of the great time they were having. When I returned home I could barely tell anyone had been staying in my place it was so spotless and tidy, exactly as I left it. Will definitely be booking Katy again, she’s very attentive and respectful, and Georgie would say she’s a very fun adventure buddy.
My shy cat took to Janet very quickly, coming out to see Janet at the meet and greet, which my cat often does not do. Janet was careful to ensure she remembered all the details in caring for my cat, even taking notes. Janet was a great communicator, trustworthy, and sent me lots of good pics of my cat. I would definitely trust Janet to watch my cat again and I would recommend her to anyone.
