About: I have rescued 3 Frenchies over the years, and fostered numerous others starting in 2008. I've fostered multiple Roadogs and Slaughterhouse Survivors (our second Frenchie rescue was a meat trade rescue who came from SHS) and currently foster for It Starts with One. I currently have one very mellow, very dog friendly, female, adult spayed Frenchie now named Reagan - who I recently adopted from the Labelle Foundation. Reagan is happy to play a little with other dogs, but she could take it or leave it. She does not resource guard and she's never shown any aggression toward the other dogs we've fostered and cared for. We also have a foster currently from Starts with One Today named Luna. She's a French Bulldog found on Skid Row and she's a gentle giant with a similar disposition to Reagan. I am a stay at home parent and I'm home for the majority of the day. I have a single story, single family home with a fully gated backyard with a 6' fence - we also have a small/medium sized doggie door (with optional ramp for the 2 steps (raised foundation) for seniors) which is available all day (we'll teach them how to use it). Please bring a harness for your dog. You are welcome to send their bed from home if you think that is a comfort item, but I don't need you to bring anything besides their food and a harness. I have experienced with: - Senior Dogs - Giving Medications (syringe, hiding in food, pushing) - Syringe Feeding - Post Surgical Care - Senior Care - Basic Potty Training Reinforcement - Palliative/Hospice Care We Have: - Dog Bed - Food and Water Bowls - 36" x 36" gated enclosure [if needed] - Crates [medium travel or large wire, if needed] and crate liners In my house: my husband and two teenagers. They give extra love but won't be responsible for any actual pet care. Note: the nightly rate is based on 24 hours. I do not prorate if you pick up early. The rate is per each night ie 8am to 8am. Or 4pm to 4pm. You can schedule your pick up or drop offs for anytime between 7am and 8pm. It's rare that I'm not home during the day - when that happens, it's usually for a very short period of time (like dropping kids at school). I'm kinda a homebody. I close the dog door around 9/10pm and reopen it at 7am. It stays open as long as I'm home, so pretty much all day 7am-10pm. I care for pets in my home only at this time. I do not offer pet sitting in your home. I have a single family home with a fully gated backyard and doggy door. Safety: Please be sure to convey any triggers or behaviors - I can probably handle most - but to ensure everyone is safe its important to know before you book. When your dog arrives at my home, I will place an airtag on your dog's collar with geofences set up, as well as a dog tag with my information, just to be extra safe. I feed dogs separately just to be extra sure there are no food squables. Our dog is not a resource guarder, but why risk it? I crate boarded and foster dogs when I am not home (which is rare) to ensure safety - once I'm comfortable that a dog is doing fine with our dog, we can stop (or feel free to request me to continue if you feel better about that).

About: I have had and taken care of rescue dogs since I was 10 years old. I have experience watching and caring for dogs of various breeds, sizes and ages (puppy to senior with special needs) I am an animal lover and will care for your pet with love and attention. I work from home so have plenty of time and flexibility to meet your pets needs. I routinely walk my own dog several times per day. I live in a gated apartment with my own sweet and playful dog. My dog has free reign, and I do have experience with owners bringing a crate for their dog. I have experience feeding dogs with sensitive stomachs and a multiple dog household.

“I scheduled a dogsitting appointment with Jake for Sadie on a recent Thursday morning. While driving to LA the Wednesday night before my appointment with Jake, Sadie and I were involved in a car accident. Fortunately, other than some soreness, we were both unhurt. At the scene of the accident, paramedics would not permit me to comfort Sadie or use my phone while they examined me for injuries. I asked one of the policemen on the scene to please use my phone to call Jake to come and pick Sadie up from the accident scene. Jake and I had never met, this was to be our first dogsitting encounter, but Jake came right away to the scene of the accident and rescued Sadie from what seemed like a sure trip to the dog pound. I was so relieved to know that Sadie was safe and being cared for. I was taken to a nearby hospital, examined, and released at midnight. The following morning, I called Jake and came over to check on Sadie. Jake had rescued not only Sadie, but also her dog bed out of the wrecked car. I can't tell Jake enough how thankful I am that he came through for me. Jake, thanks so much for taking great care of Sadie when we desparately needed it. I will forever owe you. Sadie had some soreness the next day, but she is smilling and good to go again now...Thanks, Jake!”
