About: What sets me apart as a pet caregiver is the lifelong love and experience I have with animals. Growing up, I was lucky enough to have two dogs and two cats, which taught me from a young age how much patience, attention, and genuine care animals deserve. I also have a dog at home who I absolutely adore and love spending time with, whether that’s playing, going on walks, or simply keeping them company. I understand that pets are family, and I want every animal in my care to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while their person is away. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs, and I genuinely enjoy building a bond with them. I would treat your pets with the same kindness and care I would want for my own. My schedule is very flexible because I’m currently focused primarily on school. This allows me to be available for pet care and give your pets the time, attention, and care they deserve. I’m happy to provide drop-in visits and dog walks, giving your pets plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away whether that be vacation or work!
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was basically a kid, and yes — your dog will become obsessed with me. I’m reliable, patient, and great with pets who need extra attention, belly rubs, or a hype-woman on walks. I’m a full-time student, but my fall semester is ending, so I’ll have plenty of time for your pets. I’m available most days for walks or drop-ins. I only do in-home care, so your pet gets to stay in their own comfy space. I’m hypervigilant, gentle, and big on routines—I keep doors secure, follow instructions, and treat your home and pet with respect.
About: I have been around dogs my entire life! I have three and I know dog behaviors very well. I love being around dogs and I own a jumpy dog so I know very well how to handle them! I am available any time needed currently! Any normal or odd time I can do! I can be there whenever you need and am okay with any time at all. I can handle any accommodation needed, like crating at certain times, extremely specific things needed done, etc! I can handle any specific schedule and any key details about your baby!
“Jennifer took care of my special needs cat and my 3 other cats. She was there morning and night and gave medicine to the diabetic cat I have. I shall be using her again in the near future.”

About: As a full-time student, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home, which allows me to give dogs the time, attention, and companionship they need. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, and staying active or prefers a slower, more relaxed routine, I’m happy to match their energy and routine. My biggest priority is making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and at home in my care. I take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, respect their boundaries, and give them plenty of attention, enrichment, and love throughout their stay. I’m currently a full-time student, so I’m home most of the day and able to give your pet plenty of attention and care. I’ll make sure they get lots of cuddle time, proper enrichment, regular potty breaks, and everything they need to feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ve always been an animal lover and have a deep love for my own pets. I do my best to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where they can feel happy and at ease. For the past six years, I’ve also had the rewarding experience of fostering both cats and dogs, which has taught me how to care for animals with a variety of personalities and needs. Your pet’s health and well-being will always be my first priority, followed by making sure they feel loved, comfortable, and well supervised while they’re in my care.
About: I had a dog for over 10 years and after he sadly passed away, I realized that I still had a lot of love to give! I’m currently a stay at home mom who absolutely adores pets, so my schedule is completely up to what your pet needs and what their schedule is! I live in an upstairs apartment that has lots of space for play time but also has cozy spots for nap time! The apartment has a secured front balcony that can be blocked off at request.

About: I've grown up fostering puppies and eventually taking care of three family dogs. Additionally, I've volunteered for a cat rescue group known as 'Cats In Need.' Aiding in adoption days, active enrichment, flea removal treatments and of course loving affection. I provided basic needs such as food, water, and cleanliness. I'm currently a full-time college student with great availability! Pet care is just like second nature to me as I grew up with three dogs, and even own a crested gecko. I'm an early riser, love to be active and fit, love to be around nature and stay cozy inside. My busiest days are Tuesday and Thursday, only one lecture on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the rest of the week is completely free. I am in a fairly well sized studio apartment with a gated area of grass! Currently my only pet is a crested gecko who is in a terrarium and does not make too much noise nor poses a concern. Clients are free to sleep on my bed, and get the utmost affection from me. Staying actively enriched is important, so many toys, simple training, and walks are provided!

“Mario took excellent care of my American Bully Reggie. Mario was professional, polite, on time and kept me updated with great pics!! He was responsible & followed my instructions perfectly. I am brand new to Rover and he was patient with me & helped walked me through the steps I needed to book him with ease. Mario did 3 drop in visits for me over the past weekend. Reggie won't eat when we are not home, so it was such a comfort knowing he was going to drop in and Reggie would eat, get some play time, loving & some training. Mario definitely knows how to handle dogs, his passion shines & his training skills come in handy. I will absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him. Thank you so much Mario.”

I have a large dog bed as i often sit larger dogs but your fur baby will regardless of size or gender will feel right at home.
“Heather was incredible! She did drop-in visits for 10 days and took such great care of my dog. Super dependable, great communication, and my pup loved her. We also had a situation come up while we were away, and Heather went above and beyond to help and make sure everything was taken care of. Total peace of mind — highly recommend and will absolutely rebook!”

“Kelsi did an amazing job with our kitty. Even though our kitty was timid and shy, she made sure to find her in her hiding spot and get a picture. She updated us every day and we felt relieved to know our fur baby was being so well cared for. Highly recommend Kelsi and we will use her again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Watson
Amanda was a pleasure to work with and she showed great experience working with my cats. My 2 year old Tuxedo cat (Jimmy) warmed up to her quickly which doesn't always happen so from there everything went great. Amanda's daily visit reviews contained photos which were greatly appreciated and I was able to send her additional help information during the multiple visits. My cats truly enjoyed Amanda's visits and I highly recommend Amanda for any single cat and/or multiple cat owner.

It was wonderful to have Roselyn come and care for my pets. She did a great job of communicating any questions she had. After receiving my Rover Card I was very content and excited to see that she did an amazing job of meeting my pets needs. I highly recommend booking with Roselyn if you're in need of a sitter for your fur babies. It was my first ever booking with Rover and I'm glad I chose Roselyn :). I will continue to use her services as long as they are needed and she is available.

Lincoln was very responsive, respectful, and thoughtful, and he asked great questions to make sure Myra was comfortable and well cared for. Myra absolutely loved spending time with him, and I had complete peace of mind leaving her in his care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Lincoln again and would highly recommend him to any pet owner!

Diana helped me take care of my baby cat Sorachi VERY last minute while I went out of town & took great care of her. I really appreciate her super quick responses & detailed notes (& adorable pics) she left for Sorachi each visit she had. Highly recommend her if you need someone to take care of your fur babies. Thank you Diana! :)

Trey was absolutely wonderful with checking in on my little kitty every evening while I was away on a trip. My cat is rather timid with strangers, and I’ve never had a non-family member watch her prior to this (so I was also a bit anxious). I was put at ease from the first check-in, with Trey sending pictures of her actually coming out to say hello and coaxing her forward! They went above and beyond what I had requested during the week, and I’m so appreciative. They know the exact sort of delicate and gentle approach that an anxious or scared cat needs. I’ve found my sitter for future trips! Thank you, Trey! :)

Madison was fantastic with our dog! We hired her last minute before leaving for a week long trip. She put our minds at the meet and greet with her mother. She came by twice a day to walk LT, feed him, make sure he had fresh water, and give him the attention he needed while we were away. Madison was dependable, communicative, and clearly cared about LT's well being. It was a relief knowing he was looked after by someone we could trust. We came home to a happy, healthy dog, and that's the best review we can give. We wouldn't hesitate to book Madison again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
