“Melisa was, in a word, AMAZING. We scheduled drop-in visits with her to keep an eye on our cat Clementine and Melisa wrote detailed updates for us and sent us a ton of photos, which we loved. We had a pee-incident on the couch that Melisa took in stride (thank you so much, again) and she really went above and beyond, helping put enzymatic cleaner on our couch so that the cat urine didn't just sit for two weeks, popping our mail inside and also keeping an eye on my plants. Stellar sitter and is 100% our go-to person from now on. Thanks again, Melisa!”

About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong dog lover with hands-on professional experience in canine care. Growing up with both a high-energy German Shepherd and a friendly Cockapoo mix gave me an early, deep appreciation for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. In addition to my personal experience, I spent a year working at Wags and Wiggles, a professional doggy daycare. During my time there, I managed group play, monitored dog body language, handled feedings, and ensured a safe, fun environment for dozens of dogs daily. Whether your pup needs active playtime, attentive supervision, or just a quiet walk, you can trust them to be in safe, experienced hands! Availability Schedule: Monday & Wednesday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM & after 4:00 PM Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: After 5:00 PM Saturday & Sunday: Open Availability (All Day) Having spent a year working professionally at Wags and Wiggles doggy daycare and growing up around cats and dogs of all sizes—from a German Shepherd to a Cockapoo—I prioritize safety, security, and clear communication in every client's home. I strictly follow home-entry procedures, keep doors and gates secure, and practice safe, defensive walking practices. I adhere precisely to your feeding, medication, and care routines to keep your pet's environment clean, calm, and familiar, while providing regular photo updates for complete peace of mind.

About: I've been caring for my dogs since I was just a child and have always felt a deep connection to animals. I used to do dog walking for some time and have volunteered in a grooming location as well. You can be certain your furry friend will receive the best care with me! I currently stay at home with my son so I have a pretty open schedule. In the afternoon we go for walks in our neighborhood so we'd love to bring your pup along on a walk with us! We have a front and backyard which are both enclosed with a gate. It's pretty spacious so we'd definitely have a good time. At the moment I don't have a pet of my own- we recently lost our girl due to age at 15 years old. She was such a sweet girl and we loved her dearly. We hope to adopt another one in the near future, but for now I'd like to take care of other babies. You can be confident that your dog will be provided with my best attention. Maintaining his or her routine, such as feeding schedules, will also be my top priority.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Rancho Dominguez
Janalee was an amazing sitter for my cats. She dropped-in twice a day for 6 days and fed them, made sure they had water, took care of litter, and played with them. They got lots of cuddles and pets, and seemed very happy. The cats were in a great mood when I got home. Janalee was so prepared and your fur babies will be in good hands with her.

Citlalli was absolutely amazing! I accidentally booked my two drop-in visits for the wrong day, but she was so flexible, understanding, and generous about it. She took such great care of my dog and sent me the cutest pictures and he looked so happy and comfortable! 🥹 I really appreciated how kind and accommodating she was. I would definitely book with Citlalli again and highly recommend her! ❤️

Definitely first choice, glad i went with her! Book this beautiful young lady people you won’t regret it i promise. We received daily updates and pictures(she even got our very scary kitty who’s by the way never been a people person…to pet her) a miracle in my eyes lol so shout out to her. I’ll definitely be booking again !

Anahis took great care of my furbaby. I had to leave town on an emergency and she was quick to respond and meet with me prior. She provided picture updates and was attentive to bring up any concerns to me. She was also kind enough to feed my desert tortoises. I would book check-ins with her again!

Jacqueline was fantastic, she made me feel comfortable taking care of my cat Tigger , she made sure Tigger was fed and loved everyday and provided pictures everyday to let me know everything was okay. My cat is very shy and she took to well to Jacqueline, it's clear to see that Jacqueline is a kind sole . I would recommend her in a heartbeat and will definitely hire her again.

Madison was fantastic with our dog! We hired her last minute before leaving for a week long trip. She put our minds at the meet and greet with her mother. She came by twice a day to walk LT, feed him, make sure he had fresh water, and give him the attention he needed while we were away. Madison was dependable, communicative, and clearly cared about LT's well being. It was a relief knowing he was looked after by someone we could trust. We came home to a happy, healthy dog, and that's the best review we can give. We wouldn't hesitate to book Madison again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Teah was great from the start. She came and met my bay girl Buttercup before we booked, to make sure she (buttercup) felt comfortable with her. Immediately, Buttercup started to get close to Teah and felt comfortable around her. Teah also sent me pictures and kept me updated while I was away. I will definitely book again in future trips, if she’s available.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks.
