“Haylee was great with our doggos! Showed up on time and was able to feed and play with our dogs during her visit. She takes her time with them and gives them a lot of love and attention.”

About: I’ve been a dog groomer for the past five years, but recently left my 9-5 to stay at home with my two year old son. I’ve always worked with animals and wouldn’t have it any other way. Recent SAHM looking for some extra money for the household. My schedule is wide open morning to evening all week long including weekends and holidays. I always respect a pet’s boundaries and always let them do the approaching. I will follow any and all owner’s instructions along with use my own knowledge and experience to ensure all pets are always comfortable, happy, and safe.
“Sydney is fantastic! She clearly cares about animals and took wonderful care of our cats! She even took the time to play with them to help them get comfortable with her and adjust to our absence. Sydeny also went above and beyond checking something for us that we forgot to do before leaving. As a bonus she also sends adorable pictures and videos while you're gone! Highly recommend Sydney!”

About: Hi, I’m Shu! I have a three-year-old Corgi named guoguo, and honestly, most of my dog sitting skills came from taking care of him every day haha. Having my own dog has taught me a lot about feeding routines, walks, playtime, basic care, and paying attention to a dog’s personality and needs. I’ve also always gotten along well with my friends’ and neighbors’ dogs. It’s always fun getting to know dogs with different personalities. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to adjust to each dog’s routine, whether they’re energetic and playful or a little shy and need more time to warm up. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I’ll always treat your dog with the same care and attention I give my own. I’d love to meet your pup and hopefully become one of their new favorite humans! I recently graduated from UCLA, so my schedule is very flexible. I'm available most days, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings. Caring for my own dog is already part of my daily routine, with regular meals, several walks, and playtime every day. I can easily fit your pet into that rhythm. I take care of my own dog every day. That means two home-prepared meals (raw meat plus homemade dry food), 3–4 walks ranging from 20 minutes to an hour.

About: I’ve had my own dog since I was a very little girl and have loved all my friends pets as if they were my own since then. I’ve always felt very connected to animals and I feel as though I do a great job at being attentive and playful. I have experience staying over and watching dogs for a week at a time. I also walk my family-friends dog weekly. I frequently watch after my neighbors cat which has taught me a lot about caring for them as well! I’m currently a student as Santa Monica College but do the majority of my class work online so my schedule is very flexible. Currently I am on break till February and have a super open schedule to devote my time to caring for pets while their owners are out of town for the holidays. I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, and care. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions you have for feeding, walking, and playtime. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away!
“Samantha was so great with our two boys. They were very well cared for and loved . She went above and beyond what was expected and was incredibly kind , professional and communicative.”

About: I take pride in the trust that friends and family have place in me. I will take care of them like my own. Your home will be respected and cared for. I have cared for special needs pets. I work from home as an RN. This gives me a lot of flexibility. I go for walks at least daily. Having a dog (or cat) to walk with encourages me. I love animals. I always try to follow the pet's normal routine closely. I understand the importance of keeping pet's as stress free as possible when their humans are away. I will care for them and your home with kindness and respect.
“Stephanie is wonderful! We love booking with her. She is so sweet and caring and our cat Socks loves her. She even took time out during the holidays to check on him. We always feel totally comfortable when she is watching him. ❤️”

“Aileen does a great job with all my pets. I know my cats especially look forward to her visits. I am a repeat customer and I have another trip booked with her. She follows instructions which is important to me. I especially appreciate the photos she takes on the visit report card. Thanks Aileen!!!”

“Shannon went above and beyond in caring for our two cats! I appreciated her for jumping in for our sort of last minute request and doing such a great job. She communicates well, asks great questions — and her updates and pictures gave us peace of mind while we were out of town. She also got the cats to warm up to her so quickly so huge plus. Highly recommend”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for many years. I grew up around them because my dad is a dog trainer and owns a dog hotel in Mexico, and I’ve always helped him. I’m responsible, patient, and very attentive to each dog’s needs, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m currently working part-time as a nanny, so I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to care for pets throughout the week. I have plenty of time to walk, play with, and look after your pets. “Ashley was able to take care of our 3 cats last minute. She was quick to respond and super nice. She made sure the cats had everything they needed for the weekend and sent updates with pictures. We’d definitely book with her again!”

I’m experienced in administering medications, caring for senior pets, and supporting animals with medical needs, so you can feel confident your pet is in capable, knowledgeable hands. Beyond my medical background, I genuinely love building trust with every pet I care for. I understand that every animal is unique, and I tailor my approach to match their personality, routine, and needs. This allows me to be fully present, flexible, and responsive to each pet’s unique needs and routine. I strive to offer a concierge-style experience for my clients, with reliable communication, thoughtful updates, and a level of detail-oriented care that goes beyond the basics. Because I’m not balancing another full-time role, I’m able to prioritize consistency, availability, and a calm, unhurried approach—something pets truly benefit from. My goal is to make your life easier and your pet’s experience as comfortable and seamless as possible, while giving you complete peace of mind knowing they are my top priority. My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care in your home while maintaining the routine and level of attention your pet is accustomed to. Each pet is unique, so I tailor my visits to meet their individual needs—whether that means daily walks, playtime and enrichment, medication administration, feeding routines, litter box care, or simply providing companionship and reassurance while you’re away. With nearly 20 years of veterinary experience, I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, including seniors and those with medical needs. I take pride in offering a concierge-style pet care experience with thoughtful communication, detailed updates, and a commitment to treating every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving not only reliable care, but genuine love, attention, and understanding in the comfort of their own home.
About: I originally grew up taking care of rabbits,guinea pigs, and chinchillas, which included grooming / shaving/ nail clippings and baths. I even litter trained them myself. I learned at a young age how to be gentle with all types of small animals and the importance of a clean environment. I am also available for exotic animal drop in visit care services (rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas). In my later years I fell in love with dogs and cats. I rescued all of my cats from trees and crawl spaces and learned how to cut their nails as well. When I got my first schnauzer - I learned the joy of training, patience, and positive reinforcement. My favorite thing to do is walk and spend time with animals, so it only makes sense that I create a lifestyle conducive to the things that bring me joy. I love spoiling dogs with special treats and I always talk to them like I would a person because they are so smart and pick up so many words. Walking with dogs outside, playing, chasing squirrels, and the joy of fresh air is my favorite thing to do. No walk is ever long enough for me. I am highly interactive and assertive to animals needs and I know how important positive energy is for their wellness. A good environment allows them to thrive and trust the company they are with. I am currently working part time, and I have a somewhat flexible work schedule, so pet care is something I enjoy and do daily as I have a pup of my own. I share my pup part time with my ex partner, so I have many days available to help take care of other animals. If it was completely up to me I’d have a tiny farm. I love animals so much and walking dogs is my absolute favorite pastime. I live in a one bedroom apartment with my cat Penny. My pup visits me two days a week. My cat is very dog friendly because she is used to my pup visiting twice a week. Fresh water, teeth brushing, home cooked meals/kibble are all things I do and I have stairs for smaller dogs to come on my couch. No areas in my home are off limits to pets.
About: My previous experience was primarily in vet medicine by being a vet technician. I've cared for puppies and kittens all the way to their golden senior years. I've been by their side through happy events to some anxious times, and provided calm through it all. I can provide a safe and calming environment for pets. I also have personal experience with having a dog and cat of my own. Most of my availability is Friday-Monday. I can pet sit overnight, or make a check-in during the day. Please let me know at least two days in advance with information on your loved fur-baby, so I can be prepared and make accommodations for them. I will care for your pets as I do mine. Sometimes they come up for pets and cuddles, other times they require space. I will acknowledge their needs and try to understand their body language to bridge the language barrier. Also, if they need play time, require more attention, or have anxiety, I can accomodate.
About: I've had large dogs for the past 20 years. Two of which I had all their lives until ages 14 and 17. I am equipped to deal with all stages and actually prefer seniors for their abundant wisdom. In the past 10 years I cared for a rescue German Sheppard with a bite history. This required a lot of understanding of behavior and rehabilitation. This also opened my eyes to animal/human dynamics within the home. I am a business owner and make my own hours. Through my business I had the pleasure to spend time with wolfdog sanctuaries and have learned much about animal behavior and human interactions with this amazing species. My husband works from home so there is always someone home. I enjoy animal energy around me. The sound of an animal around the house is truly a blessing. I am not at the stage where I can have a full-time commitment just yet, but would welcome having a visitor often. A safe environment is key. Making your pet comfortable and giving them the space they need to deal with your absence is priority. They can explore and make themselves comfortable without. Plenty of balls and walks. I can dedicate 1hour walks twice/day. We have a raised pet feeder, various beds to sit on, and extra leashes, collars, blankets, and can provide food and medicines according to requirements.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Perry
Aileen did a tremendous job coming over twice a day to visit and walk my dog Franklin. It was his first time staying “home alone” and she helped make it a complete success. Pictures from each visit were a comfort as I could see how happy he was with her. Thanks so much for

Vanessa was wonderful! She arrived right on time and communicated clearly throughout the visit. She even brought my packages inside without me having to ask, which was such a thoughtful extra touch. Most importantly, my dogs were happy and relaxed when I got home. I would definitely recommend Vanessa and would happily book her again!

Lisa was awesome and super easy to work with! She took great care of our cat during our short trip away and dropped in help feed and spend time with them. Lisa was responsive and extremely communicative throughout the entire process and we really appreciated her updates. Really glad our cat got to meet Lisa, and would definitely recommend her!

Samantha was a rockstar! She was timely and compassionate with our kitty. We had a tragedy take place days before our booking began. She was so kind and willing to make last-minute adjustments to extend the number of days she could drop in. I will definitely rebook her in the future and recommend her to any pet parent.

Joanne is very responsive and flexible. Our original dog sitter bailed last minute and Joanne saved the day by looking after and taking care of our girl with a last minute request. She’s very friendly, flexible and respectful. Looking forward to booking her again in the future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
