“Another stellar sit with Maria. My dog is happy, my home is clean and smells great and the linens are washed and dried. I so appreciate being able to come home and just play with my dog and unpack. We appreciate you Maria!”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing!! I had to find a sitter last minute, and I loved her bio the moment I read it. She responded quickly to my request and made sure to nail out the details for my dog’s stay. I could tell she’s experienced and loves animals, and so could my dog! She sent regular updates and pictures, and when I saw my dog frolicking in her backyard and snuggled up later on in the evening like he forgot I had dropped him off was all I needed to set my mind at ease haha! Lauren is a fantastic sitter and I will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you so much!!”

“Nina came to the rescue when I was searching for an overnight sitter last minute. I've never left my pup for an extended trip so it was awesome that she was so communicative. My dog isn't great with other dogs and Nina's day job at a doggy day care gave me confidence that I could trust she would be alert and cautious with jet's anxiety around other dogs. Thank you Nina!!!”

“Marcus really helped us out of a bind. When another sitter backed out last minute, Marcus graciously rearranged his schedule and helped us out. He was very friendly and our dogs loved him!”

“Maya was amazing with our girls! She took extra care on our little one who was having some eye gunk an we just knew the whole trip they were being loved on and cared for. Maya was very communicative and sent so many updates and pictures which put us at ease even more. Will definitely reach out to her again if we need a sitter :)”

“By far the most communicative and helpful sitter we have ever had!! Sudesna is the absolute best and took excellent care of our kitter while we were away. 10/10!”
“Lauren was AMAZING and so so good with our quirky and silly dog. Our international flight got cancelled and she was even able to stay an extra day and we’re so thankful our boy had fun with her!!!!”
“Bryan was a dream! He was proactive every step along the way and responsive whenever I reached out before and during the booking. He treated my home and pets with great care and attention. I would happily give Bryan my highest recommendation and gladly have him back anytime. Thank you, Bryan!”

“Gabriela was great. Very punctual and dependable and spent lots of time with our pets. We have a Doberman that is a big baby and hates being left alone. She spent lots of time with her and they really connected. We felt very comfortable with her taking care of our pets.”

“Alana was awesome with Marvin! He’s dog reactive and has tummy troubles (GSD) which make him sometimes not want to eat. She patiently worked through it with him and kept me updated, kept in mind the hot weather and he’s a double-coated dog and he might poop out pretty quickly. My flight was delayed bringing me back home at 2am instead of 11pm and she even changed the sheets so I didn’t have to when I got there. Marvin was clearly calm and happy when I returned, the house looked cleaner than when I left it, and best of all Marvin was in great spirits. Thanks Alana!”

“As Alia was a perfect overnight dog sitter. Our pups loved her and felt safe with her care. She went above and beyond with feeding, playtime, and keeping them happy while we were away for a two week trip. Even when a medical emergency arose, she acted quickly and was able to get our dog care without hesitation. I would recommend her to anyone. She’s one of the best sitters we’ve had!”
“Valarie took excellent care of our 2 dogs and home, while we traveled out of the country for 2 weeks. It’s such a relief to have a sitter as reliable, kind and caring as Valarie,”

“Lydia was a great dog and house sitter! This was the first time we had ever left our babies with someone other than a family member. Lydia is so detail oriented that she even questioned a mistake I had made on the medication instructions for our senior dog. She sent many updates and pictures the whole stay. Will definitely use Lydia again!”

“Shannon was so wonderful with our dog Bowser and cat Louie. She was very prompt to get up updated and photos and left the house spotless. Would be thrilled if we could set up a time for sitting with Shannon again. Thank you so much!”

“Hongyang is amazing! We are from out of town and she watched my pup at the hotel, he took up with her right away. She sent cute pics and he had a blast with her. I highly recommend and will use her again next time we’re in town!”

“Chelsey was wonderful! She was communicative and took great care of our cats. One of our cats often gets stressed out when we are out of town, but when we returned home he showed no signs of distress! Both cats were very happy when we returned home. Also, our home was immaculate. Thank you Chelsey!!!!”

Maya is the most caring and thoughtful person ever and I was so lucky to have had her help in watching my older diabetic dog. I felt truly at ease while he was in her care as she provided me with many pictures and updates and was completely reliable and communicative. Maya is highly recommended by me and I am just so happy to have found her.

Bethany took great care of our pups and home! She was very communicative, sent regular updates/photos and treated our home like it was her own. Our one pup Shiya is older, has some health issues and extra needs. Bethany was so kind, attentive and patient with her. We would highly recommend her!

So grateful for Sha’Pri and the excellent care she took of Ari & Boss in our home! She had such calm energy and patience, the dogs were instantly at ease with her. She was understanding of their needs and went the extra mile to meet them where they are: a slow moving senior gal and a terrified-of-fireworks guy (on 4th of July). Her care gave us all peace of mind. We would happily book Sha’Pri again!

Rebecca went above and beyond for Lucy when she pet sit at my house. She worked on training her which was incredible!! She also took Lucy to the vet when she was sick and cared for her like her own. Rebecca also sent videos, updates, and instructions on how to keep her training up. I will be recommending Rebecca to all my dog parent friends!!

Alana stayed at our home to watch our 2 pups and cat. She was fantastic. From the time that I reached out until after the visit, she communicated every step of the way. She sent pics the entire time we were away. She’s very conscientious and caring… I never worried the entire time. And, I came back to happy pups and a happy kitty because they were so well cared for. Thanks Alana!

McKenna did a great job pet sitting for my Dog Lucy and Cat Leo! She followed my instructions well and reached out with any questions she had. She was very attentive with both animals making sure she was caring for them the best she can! I came home from a long vacation and felt like they were very happy and loved for while I was gone. Additionally she said over my apt some and was very clean! Will book McKenna again for future pet sitting!

Megan was excellent in house sitting our two 9 month old kittens. She was very attentive to their needs and went out of her way to take care of them like her own. She was also super communicative and made sure to clarify things with us. She even sent their pics to us on a daily basis. The kittens seem healthy, happy and well taken care. Will definitely be rebooking Megan for future house sitting.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vinings walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vinings maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vinings choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vinings. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
