About: Hello and welcome! I'm Heather, but I go by Xel (pronounced •zel•) and it's nice to meet you! I have owned more dogs and cats (as well as a ferret, lizard, fish, and a spider and have handled various others) than I can count through the years (I'm almost 40 and we've had a LOT!). Everything from domestic shorthair to Bengal-mix and Schnauzers to German Shepherds. I have house-sat for both friends and family for many years (short and extended!) and I have administered medicine in pill form, as well as inhaler (would be willing to learn injections if necessary). Our oldest cats have lived 18 years, and I currently own four cats (all rescues, aged 2 to 16). Our oldest dogs have lived 15+ I believe, but it's been a long time since owning one (my parents are disabled). I have done a bit of training with dogs and cats alike, but I am not a professional. I'm HIGHLY flexible, so if you would like to know more, feel free to reach out! If you've made it this far, have a lovely day! ♡ I'm available at a moments' notice the majority of the time! This includes overnights, emergencies, and short/extended stays. As long as there is clear communication, I'll do my best to aid in any situation, even if it's within the hour! ♡ For our own cats, our oldest, Max, has to be fed separately from the others, as he needs a higher calorie diet than the others. All of the cats are treated with flea medication and I clean multiple litter boxes several times a week. For friends and family, I have had feeding schedules for both dogs and cats, ranging from custom mixed and weighed portions to simply making sure the auto-feeders/fountains are kept clean and filled. My best friend's dog gets playtime and outside time (he has a runner and a ton of toys to play fetch with). My Aunt's cat would need constant watch, as he needed an inhaler if he walked too far or his anxiety flared. I'm also open to doing light chores, so feel free to reach out with any and all questions! This was the longest I had left the dogs alone since acquiring them in December. I was apprehensive, but needn't have been. Linque impressed me from our first meeting. It is very apparent that she is an animal lover. It also helped that she had experience as a vet tech and with the husky breed, as Rocko is both ailing and a husky mix. Linque took his antics in stride and was super patient with stand-offish Hazel. The dogs were obviously well cared for. I got regular updates with photo and video, and Linque went above and beyond by performing some household tasks that I had not asked of her, my primary concern being the dogs. Thank you, Linque! I will not hesitate to hire you again for future travels.
Stephanie was absolutely fantastic, and we would happily book with her again! Her communication was stellar from beginning to end. She was prompt and reliable with both her arrival and departure, and was also very flexible when a change in our schedule meant we needed to shift her arrival time to a couple of hours later and her departure a couple of hours earlier. Our pets took to her immediately. Even our shy cat, who typically wants nothing to do with strangers, welcomed Stephanie during the meet and greet and actually let Stephanie pet her, which says a lot! Throughout our trip, Stephanie sent us a thoughtful update each day along with some fantastic photos of our pets. I leave very detailed instructions for our pet sitters, and several things Stephanie mentioned during her stay made it obvious that she had read everything thoroughly and was paying close attention to our pets' routines and needs. We've had other sitters where we felt the need to check in more frequently, but Stephanie's communication and attention to detail made us feel completely confident that everything was being taken care of, so we were able to relax and enjoy our time away. When we returned, our home was incredibly tidy. The bed linens had been freshly changed, the litter box was clean, the yard had been cleaned up, and she had even taken care of the messes around our particularly messy eater's food area. It honestly felt like we'd never left. Most importantly, our pets were happy to see us when we got home but showed absolutely no signs of stress from our being away. They were relaxed, happy, and clearly very well cared for. We loved having Stephanie stay with our pets and couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will absolutely book with her again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring sitter!
Caroline was exceptional. She communicated to ensure she understood all details of our trip and our dog’s needs. They were well cared for. We never had a concern. It was so nice not having to worry while we were away. If we ever need dog care again, she would be our choice.
This is the second time Stephanie house sat for our Spaniel and we will definitely use her again! Our spaniel is a little older now and has some long term side effects from a spine surgery so he needs a little extra attention and we didn’t think he would do great in a boarding environment again. Stephanie arrived on time, took great care of our buddy, sent regular photos and updates, as well as left the house in great shape. Most importantly for us, we did not worry about our pup’s care during her stay! We highly recommend Stephanie for caring for your pups.
Heather gave excellent service. I was so nervous about boarding my dogs. They have been with no one else but me since they were babies. They are 11 years old. She make sure that she sent me pictures dessert show that my babies were okay and having a good time. I did a weekend test with her because I'm going out of town for a week and I needed someone to take care of my babies. As long as I have dogs and I need somebody to take care of them I will contact her immediately. If I could go higher than a five star she would get it.
