“Jacob was fantastic. My dog is not always easy to work with due to some resource guarding issues, but Jacob had the patience and kindness to meet his needs. I feel very lucky that he took care of my dog, and I will be seeking his help again in the future.”

“Thanks for taking care of Charlie! I appreciated that we did a meet and greet beforehand so that our pup could be familiar with HL and Elizabeth.”

From puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats — I know what it takes to administer love and care during all developmental stages of life! My heart is full when I get to see either a happy dog tail-wag or a purrfectly content cat make biscuits. At this time I am not hosting animals in my home. I will do house visits and walks. I prefer to take your pet on routes they are familiar with to start. After getting to know your pet, I can take them on walks in new environments to encourage new training opportunities. Please disclose if your pet has ever been aggressive or experiences severe anxiety behaviors. I want to provide a safe environment for your fur baby and myself by being aware of any sensitivities or triggers. “So glad that Tessa could take Alfred in a midday walk while I worked. Gave me peace of mind knowing he was taken care of and wouldn’t have to wait for me if I couldn’t get away from work for a lunch time walk. Thank you so much!!!”

“Olga did a great job walking my dog, Jenny on short notice. I would use her again without hesitation. She was always right on time, sent lots of photos and also checked to make sure Jenny's water bowl was full.”

“Alejandra took excellent care of my dog Finn while I was on a 2 week long trip. Communication was excellent and I genuinely felt like she enjoyed spending time with Finn. Don’t hesitate to book Alejandra for whatever pet care needs you have - dog walking, house sitting, etc. She is very reliable and professional.”

“We are so thankful to have Loren look in on our old dog on our longer days; our dog loves her! She is always kind, courteous, and responsive. In fact, the last time she came our key and lock got stick but she was patient, reached out, and was able to get in! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our favorite critter!”

“Eric was able to walk Tugboat on short notice. So helpful and kind. I appreciated the help. Eric also was able to get Tugboat to not be interested in pulling. Can't thank Eric enough. Tugboat was always excited to see Eric and knew the time was coming. Can't recommend Eric enough.”

About: I love all animals, with proper direction I’m positive I can give adequate care to any and all animals and ensure their safety and health. I work full time with a nonprofit organization downtown that helps unhoused youths. My schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 2:30 pm - 10:30. My days off are Friday and Saturday. I can take one break depending on the how far the location is from my work to give a potty break. In my free time I’m devoted to whatever may come and is needed for any and all pets ❤️ I’ve worked with the state for most of my adult life and always have passed a background check. My resume includes elderly care, hospital healthcare, in home healthcare, and most recently three years as a domestic violence/homeless shelter advocate with a non profit organization in rural Alaska. I’ve had animals my entire life and enjoy the company of all! I have experience with not only cats and dogs but fish, rodents and reptiles as well. I am open and eager to learn and care for all different kinds of animals and am confident in my abilities to do so with adequate information from the pet parents.
About: I have been cat sitting and dog walking for the past two years for coworkers and family friends- and now I’m on Rover too! I’ve got two golden retrievers of my own who I love dearly as well! I am a student at the University of Vermont studying political science and english! During the summers I come home to Anchorage, Alaska. I love all things outdoors- hiking, running, you name it. I have also been working part time at Middle Way Cafe (in Anchorage) for almost 3 years. Because I have grown up with animals, I feel confident in my ability to care for them. I also volunteer at our local animal shelters and am passionate about finding animals good homes! I value communication and will update you on your pets mood, send pictures, etc. I have a lot of experience with anxious dogs, so rest assured your pets are in good hands even if they tend to be nervous when you leave.
About: I have loved most animals for as long as I can remember. I am very compassionate towards animals and feel love and concern when I see a lost or unloved animal. I have pet and house sat for two families who came back to me multiple times. I am always willing to adjust my usual routine to make the owners and their furry family members comfortable. I sat for a friend once who requested that I keep their large, fluffy husky mix in my car whenever I left the house. My priority will always be keeping your furbabies happy, healthy, safe, and comfortable. Last, but certainly not least, I have two dogs of my own who I treat as if they were my own children. I am always thinking of how I would want other humans to treat them when I decide how to work with someone else's pets. During the summer, my pet care will be my highest priority. During the school year (mid August through late December and mid January through late May) I work as a teaching assistant and must prioritize that but I would endeavor to schedule all non-work related activities around the needs of the pet and their family. As I have two dogs of my own neither of which get along well with other dogs, I would not be able to care for another pet in my own home, but I am always willing to stay in another home if pets require constant supervision. I would always follow any instructions regarding pet care given me by the owners. If clear instructions are not given to me, I will ask questions and I will simply do my best to make the pet comfortable and not to change their routine more than absolutely necessary.

University Area dog parents share their Rover experiences
After almost 6 months of service, I just have to leave another review. Tiffany has been an absolute blessing. She goes above and beyond every day to get my Honey out for plenty of exercise and socialization. I don’t think she skipped a single day, even through this entire grueling winter. She is truly dedicated and clearly cares just as much about Honey as I do. She is attentive and keeps me updated on anything abnormal about Honey’s behavior and even her poops. I can rest easy knowing with 100% certainty that Honey is safe and sound no matter how far their adventures take them. She has been here every step of the way as I’ve fought through an onslaught of illnesses, surgeries, chronic pain and even a cancer scare, making sure my baby was well cared for even on days I could barely get out of bed. She’s even helping me get back out there and do more with Honey myself. “Above and beyond” doesn’t even begin to describe how much she has gone out of her way to help us. Tiffany is part of our little family now and I am endlessly grateful to have her in our lives. A truly radiant, beautiful soul.

My dog can be difficult and a bit defensive of his home and people. Jacob got to see my dog Diesel at his worst, but then he turned it around within a day. Not many people have the patience and calmness it requires to handle a dog like mine, so I felt very lucky and fortunate that Jacob was so great. I recommend him to anyone for any animal! He’s terrific.

Sarah is amazing!!!! She has given Griffey daily walks for the past year and a half and we are going to miss her so much! She treats your pets as her own, and goes above and beyond every single time. Our pets get so excited every time she comes, which is a true example as to how much care she gives. There is no one else we trust as much as Sarah - book her!!!

Iman was absolutely amazing! She was able to accommodate my request to walk my sweet Koa last minute. Before the walk, she took the time to visit us and ask specific questions about my pup’s likes and dislikes. It was incredibly reassuring, and I am incredibly grateful for her help!

Eric was very professional during the meet/greet and immediately put me at ease about having someone else come walk our dogs when we are not able. He took the dogs for their first walk yesterday and sent lots of photos and communicated very well. I would highly recommend Eric!!!

We are so thankful to have Loren look in on our old dog on our longer days; our dog loves her! She is always kind, courteous, and responsive. In fact, the last time she came our key and lock got stick but she was patient, reached out, and was able to get in! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our favorite critter!
