Availability
Pet care is an integrated part of my daily routine. I maintain a structured but flexible schedule built around consistent check-ins, established routines, and attentive supervision rather than fixed time blocks. My days are organized to ensure pets receive timely meals, outdoor breaks, enrichment, and quiet rest periods, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs such as medication schedules, senior pets, or increased oversight. I work with a limited number of households at a time so I can remain focused, responsive, and present for each animal in my care. I support both recurring care schedules and repeat bookings throughout the year, planning availability in advance to ensure continuity and reliability. Because I prioritize focused, high-quality care, availability may be limited during peak travel periods, and advance notice is always appreciated when possible.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety, consistency, and clear communication guide how I provide care in every setting. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I follow established routines closely and tailor care to each pet’s individual needs, temperament, and comfort level. In my home, pets are cared for in a calm, structured environment with attentive supervision. Daily routines are predictable and intentional, and dogs are fed and rested in their own designated space to support comfort and safety. I work with a limited number of households at a time to ensure focused, high-quality care and to avoid overstimulation or stress. In a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining the pet’s normal day-to-day routine so their environment feels familiar and secure. Care includes feeding, fresh water, medication administration when needed, exercise or enrichment appropriate to the pet, and calm companionship. I respect each home, follow care instructions carefully, and provide regular updates so clients feel informed and confident while they’re away. Across all services, meet and greets are required for new clients to ensure a safe and appropriate fit, and expectations are discussed in advance so routines, needs, and boundaries are clearly understood.

Information Erica & Christopher K. would like to know about your pet
Before care begins, it’s important to have a complete and accurate understanding of each pet’s routine, temperament, and needs. This helps ensure safety, consistency, and a positive experience for everyone involved. Key information includes: Daily feeding schedules and amounts (including special diets) Medication details and any medical considerations Exercise needs or enrichment preferences for dogs, and play style or interaction preferences for cats Temperament, triggers, and comfort levels with people, other animals, and changes to routine Any history of anxiety, reactivity, or behavioral concerns Litter box routines, preferences, and locations for cats Veterinary contact information and emergency preferences Honest and thorough communication is essential. Undisclosed medical or behavioral issues can impact a pet’s safety and the quality of care provided. A meet and greet is required for new clients so routines, expectations, and any special considerations can be discussed in advance. For clients who receive recurring care, as well as repeat clients who book multiple times per year, I request brief check-ins to confirm there have been no major changes to routines, health, or behavior, and to address any new needs.
A typical day
A typical day is built around each pet’s established routine, with a thoughtful balance of activity, enrichment, and rest. Consistency comes first, and activities are tailored to the pet’s age, energy level, and preferences. Fun and enrichment might include neighborhood walks, time outside, interactive play, puzzle toys, scent work, or gentle reinforcement for dogs. For cats, enrichment may include wand play, window watching, or quiet companionship—letting them set the pace. For safety reasons, I avoid high-arousal games such as tug and play with tug-style toys. I pay close attention to cues and energy levels, making sure pets have time to decompress and rest between activities. The goal isn’t constant stimulation, but a calm, engaging day that feels familiar and comfortable, so pets can settle easily while their people are away.

Pet care experience
I provide professional, reliable, and attentive pet care for clients who value consistency, safety, and clear communication. My approach is calm, structured, and individualized—because every animal has different needs, routines, and comfort levels. I have lifelong experience caring for animals and previously worked for several years at a professional dog boarding kennel. During that time, I gained hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, daily care routines, and basic grooming support for on-site groomers. I am comfortable administering medications, following detailed care plans, and managing multi-pet households. My husband, Christopher, is part of my care team and may assist with visits and overnight care when appropriate. I am home most of the day, which allows for consistent supervision, structured routines, and attentive care—particularly for animals who benefit from regular human presence or increased oversight. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for a variety of other companion animals. Care for non-traditional pets is considered on a case-by-case basis and discussed in advance to ensure routines and handling needs are clearly understood. My goal is to provide dependable, low-stress care while you’re away, so you can travel knowing your pets and home are in capable, experienced hands. Services & Care Structure Care is tailored to each pet’s needs, temperament, and required level of supervision. I work with a limited number of households at a time to ensure focused, high-quality care. A typical day may include: Morning and evening outdoor breaks Meals served according to owner instructions Structured play or enrichment Quiet rest periods Evening wind-down and final check-in Dogs are fed and rested in their own designated space to support comfort and safety. I have a fully fenced yard and a friendly resident dog for pets who enjoy appropriate canine companionship. Policies & Requirements Meet & Greets A meet and greet is required for all new clients. Boarding is not offered for first-time clients. This allows us to confirm a safe and comfortable fit for everyone involved. Behavior & Safety For safety reasons, I do not accept aggressive animals for any services. All pets are assessed during the meet and greet to determine suitability for my care environment. Vaccinations All pets must be up to date on required vaccinations. Proof is required prior to the start of care. Photos of current vaccination status and rabies documentation are accepted. Spay / Neuter Status Intact dogs and females in heat may be accepted on a case-by-case basis with advance disclosure. Undisclosed status may result in cancellation of care. Care Information A completed Rover profile and detailed care instructions are required, including feeding schedules, medication details, and veterinary contact information. Written or typed copies of instructions left in the home are also preferred. Last-Minute & Emergency Requests Last-minute and emergency bookings may be accepted when availability allows. Emergency or short-notice requests may include an additional fee. Walks & Drop-In Visits For walks and drop-in visits, I typically serve clients within approximately five miles of my home near the Boniface entrance to JBER. However, I do not have base access. If I am already house sitting nearby, I may be able to accommodate requests outside this radius—feel free to ask. House Sitting Coverage Winter (October–March): Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, Wasilla Summer (April–September): Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer, Wasilla, Willow, Sutton, Cooper Landing, Whittier, Hope, and Girdwood
