About: Leaving your pet behind is never easy, especially when they are older, need medication, or are happiest with a calm routine and a little extra attention. After spending 17 years with my own two dogs and caring for them through their senior years, I understand how important patience, consistency, and noticing the little things can be. Hi, I’m Kat. I’m a remote professional, artist, photographer, lifelong animal lover, and pet momma of 17 years who is now sharing that same care with other families. Animals have always been part of my life. I grew up in the country, where my family raised cows and we always had cats and dogs around. During my earliest years, we also had chickens and ducks, and because my dad was a science teacher, the classroom ferret even spent summer breaks at our house. Being surrounded by so many different animals taught me early on that each one has its own personality, routine, and way of communicating. Later, I became a pet mom to two very spunky Chihuahuas who were by my side for 17 years. I experienced every stage of their lives, from their energetic younger years to becoming seniors who needed extra patience and care. Along the way, I gained firsthand experience with medication schedules, mobility changes, veterinary appointments, cancer treatment, and the everyday adjustments that come with helping an aging pet stay comfortable. Now that my home is a little quieter, caring for other people’s pets feels like a natural next chapter. I know how important it is to find someone who will notice the little things, respect your pet’s routine, and care for them as the individual they are. Work-From-Home Companionship: One of the biggest advantages I offer is that I work remotely from home. Your pet will have a consistent companion for most of the day rather than someone simply stopping in and out. Some pets enjoy curling up nearby while I work. Others prefer backyard breaks, walks, playtime, or simply knowing someone is close. I am happy to follow their lead and plan the day around their usual routine. A typical day may include breakfast, a morning walk, time to relax while I work, regular potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, afternoon cuddles, dinner, and another walk or quiet time in the evening. Long-term stays are welcome. Before each booking, we can discuss your pet’s normal schedule, how much companionship they are used to, and their comfort level with alone time so I can plan around their individual needs. Boarding in My Home: I want visiting pets to feel like they are staying with family rather than in a kennel. My home has a private backyard for frequent potty breaks, safe neighborhood walking paths, and nearby dog parks for dogs who enjoy them, with your approval. I provide clean beds, blankets, and toys for visiting pets. Everything is washed and cleaned before and after each stay. Well-trained pets are welcome on the furniture and bed when that matches their normal routine at home. Keeping familiar habits in place can help them settle in and feel more comfortable. For added peace of mind, I live approximately five to eight minutes from VEG Emergency Veterinary Group and Modern Animal should veterinary care ever be needed. House Sitting in Your Home: Some pets are happiest in their own environment, and I am happy to come to them. I will carefully follow your instructions for meals, walks, medications, potty breaks, bedtime, playtime, household security, and any agreed-upon home-care needs. Because I work remotely, I can spend much of the day in your home with your pets instead of simply coming and going. I am also a devoted plant mom, so if you have indoor plants, raised beds, or a garden that needs watering while you are away, we can discuss that as part of the stay. I will treat your home with care and respect and leave the spaces I use clean and orderly. Senior and Special-Care Experience: Senior pets have a special place in my heart. I understand that older pets may need a slower pace, more frequent potty breaks, gentler walks, medication, help getting comfortable, or simply a calm person nearby. I am comfortable caring for senior dogs and cats, puppies and adult dogs, small and large breeds, pets requiring oral medication, pets with detailed feeding or care schedules, pets receiving ongoing veterinary treatment, pets with reduced mobility, shy or cautious animals, pets with separation anxiety, and multi-pet households. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, energy, mobility, bathroom habits, and behavior and will contact you promptly if I notice anything unusual. Regular Updates and Plenty of Photos: You will receive regular updates and plenty of photos throughout your pet’s stay so you can see how they are eating, resting, walking, playing, and settling in. As a photographer, I naturally enjoy capturing the expressions and little moments that show off each pet’s personality. Before We Book: When possible, prefer to arrange a meet-and-greet before accepting a new boarding or house-sitting client. This gives us time to discuss your pet’s personality, routine, health, house training, walking habits, medication needs, comfort with alone time, and emergency information. If last minute and pressed for time, FaceTime calls are welcome. Every pet is different, and I want to make sure they feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for while you are away. Whether your dog loves a lively walk, prefers a slow stroll, or simply wants a cozy place to nap nearby while I work, I will care for them with patience, attention, and respect for the routine they already know. Because I work remotely, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am home for most of the day and can provide regular potty breaks, walks, meals, medication, playtime, and plenty of companionship. I plan my schedule around each pet’s usual routine so their days feel familiar, comfortable, and consistent. I care for each pet according to their normal routine, comfort level, and individual needs. In my home, pets have access to a private backyard, clean beds and blankets, nearby walking paths, and plenty of supervised time with me. I keep doors and gates secure, follow all feeding and medication instructions carefully, and never take pets to a dog park without permission. When house sitting, I treat both your pet and your home with care and respect. I follow your instructions closely, maintain household security, keep the spaces I use clean, and provide regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Bassam was absolutely wonderful with Lady Guienvere. It’s so refreshing to find a sitter who is just as enchanted with my fur baby as I am. He was attentive, gentle, and clearly cared deeply for her comfort and happiness. I truly appreciated the care he showed my little one, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again.”

About: I have experience watching dogs of all ages and sizes in NY and now Texas. I understand needs of dogs whether that be sensitive to noises, separation anxiety, etc - I’ve seen it all. Especially with my own six pound Chihuahua! Experience in administering medicine and training, I can help you and accommodate for anything you may need. I have tons of love to give and will provide an easy and calming experience for you and your family. I work from home and am able to give your pet 24/7 attention. Walks can be given every hour and the dog park at least once a day, if your dog likes dog parks. I am available every day and very flexible with scheduling. I live alone in a quiet house with a fenced backyard so there’s plenty of space for your furry friend to get comfortable. I also have a very friendly chihuahua that will be with me for any dog boarding. Your dog may sleep on the furniture or in a crate, whatever you prefer. I can administer medicine (no shots) and live within walking distance of a vet that I know personally, so this is the perfect place in case of any emergencies.

“Karina watched my dog (Zelda) two days in a row. Sent me pics and updates throughout the day. Zelda ran right to her the second day and was definitely excited to see her and tired when I picked her up. Definitely recommend, and will rebook in the future!”

“They were fabulous!!! My dog Inez loved playing with their pup Willy and I got several pics and videos throughout the day. She seemed very tired and content when she got home! Extra special thanks to Katherine because our flight coming back was delayed several times and she was so nice being flexible with having to change pickup time. Would definitely recommended!!”

“Absolutely recommend Daniel, My pet absolutely loves spending time with him and gets so excited every time he sees him. He is also incredibly knowledgeable about dog behavior and care, which gives me total peace of mind whenever I’m away. He is professional and very reliable. He also keeps me posted by sharing photos and videos!”

About: For several years, I've consistently volunteered at numerous animal shelters. My experience ranges from maintaining the health of puppies and kittens to nurturing and caring for older animals. On top of this, I am very cleanly so you can be rest assured your loved one will treated with the sophistication all animals deserve. As a financial planner, I have a hybrid work schedule that is highly flexible. Without delay or hesitation, your pet's needs will be at the top of my priorities! I frequently run so rest assured, your dog will have all the exercise he/she needs! On top of that, my apartment complex has a convenient dog walking environment so potty breaks will be often!

“I highly recommend Amane! She took amazing care of Ari and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She was very responsive, flexible with my pickup time, and kept me updated throughout the stay with lots of photos and messages about what they were doing. About: I have always had animals around me since birth. Dogs and Cats mostly but some turtles and frogs over the years too:) I work from home and currently have 2 dogs (Big Lab and Little terrier) and a kitty cat. I am excited to branch out from sitting for my friends and family's fur babies to meeting other local playmates. I am very attentive to each personality and want to make sure each is comfortable and has fun. My large South Austin yard is fully fenced, and my boys love to make new friends. My cat Lucy tends to nap and avoid dog visitors- unless tuna is involved, LOL. All animals are allowed on the furniture and bed, but I do own a large crate if that is the preferred routine. Working from home allows me to available for potty breaks, company and play time. I would only be away from the house to run short errands. I am happy to discuss any pick up/drop off schedules. I have a large fenced yard in South Austin. My boys come and go as they please to the backyard for play or to potty. My little dog, Uncle Randy, is known to wander if he sniffs an opportunity, so I regularly check the privacy fence to make sure it is secure. Baloo (my big lab) will want to play with guests after a good sniff but normally gets distracted shortly after by his tennis ball. Uncle Randy (my Rat Terrier/ Chihuahua) barks at new guests but then tends to ignore them and wants more snuggles. My boys are best friends and snuggle up every night. I have never had an emergency while sitting other people's pets but I know the closest/best South Austin ER vet clinics from my 20years of living in this neighborhood.

I needed someone to watch Jude for the day while the movers came and I navigated moving logistics so they helped with Jude for a daycare visit. Katelyn and Joe were really easy to book with and tag teamed communication. They offered both a virtual meet and greet or an in person one, they were very accommodating. Jude felt very calm and peaceful in their home. They sent great pictures let me know how he was doing. It made me feel less stressed during the move. I would let them watch Jude again!

Marissa was great! She took great care of our pup Appa while we were out for the day. He had a lot of fun and was very relaxed when we picked him up. Unfortunately we moved to the other side of town, but if we were still nearby we’d absolutely be returning back! Highly recommend Marissa if you need a pup sitter!

Jennifer has been so great!!! She has taken such wonderful care of my dog Wuzzy, she has sent lots of photos and given great updates on how Wuzzy does during daycare with her, and I can always tell how happy and calm Wuzzy is with her. Jennifer has been very responsible, trustworthy, and professional. Thank you Jennifer!!!

Shayna was awesome and so caring of our kiddos while we were traveling and visiting ATX. She was flexible with our pickup and drop off times and really made the trip to ATX a breeze with one less thing to worry about for the day. She’s great at communicating, sending us updates on the kiddos and making sure they were comfortable. Really thankful we were able to find a great sitter. We really recommend Shayna and her services. We hope to come back and use her services again.

Reid and Sabrina, ably assisted by Dexter and Kramer took such good care of our dog Pepsi! She came back happy and tired and we received lots of nice pics and even a video while she was with them. Good vibes from the start, would 100% recommend them to mind your dog!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Sunset Valley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
