I was incredibly nervous about leaving my two dogs in the care of someone else, as one of them has lots of anxiety issues and can be reactive with people and other dogs. But Dale did incredible and had no issues. He was super patient with my reactive dog and was super mindful about all my concerns. I was so so anxious and left a whole essay of information/instructions he needed to know and he made sure to keep all of that in mind. I will definitely keep him in mind for future sitter needs.

About: I have had dogs and cats all my life (also fish, hamsters, mice, and a hedgehog). From puppies and kittens to elderly chihuahuas and grouchy senior cats, I have handled it all. I routinely care for pets for my friends and family and am happy to care for your babies too. I'm recently retired so I have a lot of time on my hands! I'm happy to administer medication or cater to your pet in whatever ways they need. I recently retired from my full-time job and will be mostly at home doing a little contract work here and there. I already care for my own five pets (or six if you count the fish) and can easily add yours to the mix. I will listen to what your pet needs and accommodate whatever it is they need/want. I am used to dealing with a diverse group of pets and providing each of them with what they need.

Danielle is absolutely amazing with Mishka! She is great about listening to Mishka’s cues when she wants to keep walking or needs a chill day to just play inside. It’s very apparent how much she cares about the dogs she walks. Mishka is so excited to see her each day and it shows in all the pics that Danielle sends! I’m so happy to have found someone I trust Mish with in Austin.

About: I've been caring for dogs for over 8 years and understand that every dog has their own unique personality, needs, and routine. As a dog owner myself, I currently have a 7-year-old Pit Bull mix and a 10-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix, so I have firsthand experience caring for dogs with different energy levels, temperaments, and care requirements. In addition to walking dogs for years, I've also cared for many dogs that weren't my own, giving me experience earning the trust of pets in new environments and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I'm incredibly detail-oriented because I know the little things matter—whether it's following feeding instructions exactly, giving medications, sticking to a familiar routine, or recognizing when a dog needs extra patience, playtime, or reassurance. My goal is always to provide the same level of care and attention that I'd want for my own dogs. Above all, I want every pet in my care to feel loved, happy, and well cared for. I'll make sure your dog gets plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and companionship so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in good hands. I'd be happy to help with your pet care needs! I work full-time from home, which gives me the flexibility to accommodate a variety of schedules and provide dependable care throughout the day. Whether you need a recurring dog walker, last-minute drop-in visit, or a unique schedule, I'll do my best to make it work. I'm available for dog walks and drop-in visits daily between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. I understand that every family has a different routine, so I'm happy to work with you to find times that best fit your schedule and your dog's needs. My goal is to provide reliable, stress-free care while making sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and love they deserve. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Every dog is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences to make sure they feel as comfortable as possible while you're away. For walks, I'm happy to bring one or both of my friendly, well-socialized dogs along if your pup enjoys canine companionship—but only if that's something you'd like. If your dog prefers one-on-one attention, I'm just as happy to keep our walks focused on them. Whether it's neighborhood sidewalks, local trails, or your dog's favorite walking route, I'll make sure they get exercise in an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, and have the most fun. For drop-in visits, I treat every client's home with the same care and respect that I would my own. I'm extremely detail-oriented and know how important it is to follow your instructions exactly as requested. From feeding schedules and medications to potty breaks, playtime, or any special routines, you can trust that I'll pay close attention to every detail without cutting corners. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your home is respected and your dog is receiving the loving, reliable care they deserve.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 10, growing up in a home full of pets. That early experience gave me a natural comfort with animals and a genuine love for building trust with them. I’m reliable, attentive, and enjoy making sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just good company. I would love to take good care of your fur baby! 💛🐶🐈🐾✨ I’m currently a self employed tattoo artist and designer. I am very flexible and have plenty of availability to take care of your fur babies. I will mostly be available week days 9am-5pm I am not currently accepting jobs to take care of your pets in my home as I don’t have a suitable space with my two roommates and two kitties but would be happy to take care of your pet in your own home.

About: I've been caring for pets since I was eight years old and my family adopted its first dog. Beyond the typical duties of walking, feeding, playing, and training I've performed for my personal pets, I also began walking dogs at shelters when I was in middle school, and continued to throughout college. Since graduating college a year ago, I've been hired to walk and take care of multiple dogs in my neighborhood, which I've done so joyfully. I am also a member of Trusted Housesitters, and have travelled around the country to visit new places while caring for pets. I have a variety of experience and am the biggest dog lover you'll probably ever meet! I currently work virtually, so am incredibly flexible and able to accommodate a variety of situations during my workday. This means I can work on both workdays and weekends. Furthermore, I am generally very flexible and have lots of free time, so chances are I'll be able to make something work! I will care for my client's pet in their home with care and love. I try to walk dogs I care for at least 3 times a day for at least 15-20 minutes - more if the dog is very active. I also make sure to fill the water bowl and feed the pups on time. I will also go outside to the backyard (if present) and play with the dog there. Because I work from home, I am extremely flexible and able to give dogs more attention than they might get at a kennel or other situation. Overall, I am extremely conscientious, and what's more, I am a genuine dog lover and am attuned to their needs. I will care for your dog with the utmost attention and love.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and couldn’t imagine life without them. Growing up, my family had a Bull Terrier and an Italian Greyhound, so I’ve been caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels from a young age. During college, I lived with a 65-pound Aussiedoodle and helped with daily walks, playtime, feeding, and overall care. Now I have an adorable mini Dachshund puppy of my own who keeps me on my toes! I played college tennis, so staying active has always been a big part of my life. I love spending time outside, whether it's going for long walks, runs, or playing fetch at the park. I'm patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy giving dogs the exercise, attention, and love they deserve. Whether your pup loves an adventure or prefers a relaxed stroll, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. I'm available on both weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, or boarding. Since I'm home most of the time, your pup won't be left alone for long and will get lots of playtime, potty breaks, and love. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a house with a fully fenced, secure backyard where dogs can safely play and explore. We also have concrete floors, which makes it easy to keep everything clean after muddy paws or accidents. Our neighborhood has beautiful walking trails and plenty of open space, so your pup will enjoy regular walks, exercise, and fresh air. I have a mini Dachshund puppy who loves making new friends, and I'll always make sure introductions are done safely and that every dog feels comfortable and cared for.

About: My wife and I own a beauty studio which allows us to have a pretty flexible schedule. We like to use our extra time to help out. I've always had a passion for dogs and love spending time with our mini Aussie Maui. Our dog is super friendly! He loves kids and other dogs and seems to always have a huge smile on his face. I love taking our pup on long walks on the Greenbelt and for swims around the hill country. I've been a dog owner for 30+ years and I am confident I'll provide a safe and positive experience for you and your dog! Fortunately my schedule is super flexible. I'm able to work whenever I like which makes working with animals extremely convenient. My wife and I have a dog of our own, but we're often fostering dogs or caring for dogs via Rover. Dogs are a huge passion of mine, and I'm incredibly thankful I can help out! We have a fenced backyard. We also have extra dog beds, food and water bowls, leashes, collars and harnesses as well as tons of toys and treats. We have baby gates and play pens. Large and small kennels. We have a baby pool for pups to play in during the summer in our backyard. We also have everything needed to bathe and groom pups if they get a little messy. Our cars have either doggy hammocks or a puppy chair. We have just about everything you can think of a dog might need.

About: Working from home allows me to spend more time with my dog and give my clients’ dogs all the attention they deserve. Taking care of my bulldog daily requires applying nose butter, baby whites, dental wipes and more. I am happy to do this for my clients fur babies too! I currently work full time from home as an IT business analyst. This allows me flexibility to help care for other pets all day everyday I have a 4 year old English bulldog at home. I take him on walks daily (when it is not too hot). Due to bulldog’s health issues I clean his face and nose daily. I am very comfortable caring for clients’ pets and providing whatever service they may need.

  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
