About: With 10+ years of caring for my own pets plus family and friends’ dogs, I bring patience, reliability, and genuine love for every pup. I’m committed to giving dogs the caring attention they deserve when their owners can’t be there. My schedule is very open right now, which gives me a lot of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, and playtime. I’m able to adjust to your pet’s routine and make sure they get consistent care whenever needed. In my clients’ homes, I always follow their routines, preferences, and house rules. My goal is to keep each pet comfortable and cared for while I’m a guest in their space.

About: I’ve taken care of my family dogs for awhile now and my friends and family call me a dog whisperer, and cats can approach me very well. I’m an Eagle Scout and know how to take care of most situations, especially in dog sitting Currently I’m home from college for the summer and looking to play with some living pets and just give them a good time while you are out having yours. I have a fenced yard and 1 labradoodle who is such a friendly soft dog. In her mind she still is a baby and she knows how to play and in amazingly disciplined.

About: I’m reliable, attentive, and focused on making pets feel comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routines. I’m very communicative with owners and always provide updates and photos. I’m also patient with different personalities—whether that’s energetic dogs that need activity or more relaxed pets that just want calm companionship. Pet care fits easily into my routine. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, so I’m able to plan my day around walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. I’m typically up early and active throughout the day, which makes it easy to provide reliable morning and evening care. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications, while making sure pets get plenty of attention and care. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they know their pet is doing well.

David has been walking my dog, Gracie, everyday for about 2 weeks. I had major back surgery and have been unable to walk Gracie. David is always on time and Gracie stands by the front door waiting for David. He is so good with her and takes her to the park so she can play. I highly recommend David.

I have never not owned a pet, I love taking care of them and showing my love! I love all animals and am super comfortable around every kind. Friends can always rely on me to take care of their pets when they’re away, no problem! I just graduated in May from UT and am taking the summer off of work to have fun! I have a very open schedule and can be very flexible to take care of pets. I understand the need for the upmost care for your pets, considering I would want the same as well. Good communication is a key aspect to this care and I would make sure to check in and answer quickly in order to avoid any confusion. Also, I love taking pics so I can always send update pics to ensure safety and trust!

About: Recently had my own dog pass and looking for some companions. Grown up with big dogs all my life and had a small dog for 7+ years. I know how to care for seniors and dogs with chronic health conditions. I’ll love on your pup and will do anything in my power to make them feel cared for. I currently have lots of flexibility and free time to hang with your pets! I am available for check ins, walks, home stays, boarding, and pick ups for day stays I am very attentive to your pets wants and needs! I ensure a safe environment for playing, resting, and eating and give proper quality time while you are away or working! About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, personalities, and energy levels — from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and comfort. I understand that every dog is different, and I always make it a priority to help them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their routine, I’ll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. I am currently a college student with a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to focus on walks, drop-ins, play sessions, and quality care for your pets. I’m dependable, attentive, and always happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I’m especially mindful of dogs who may feel nervous in new environments or around new people. I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, routine, and needs so they can feel as relaxed and happy as possible during our time together. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, and any special needs. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment, and I make sure pets are always supervised. I’m attentive to behavior and will keep you updated with messages and photos so you feel confident your pet is in good hands.

About: Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am recent grad looking for great ways to pay off my student loans ASAP. I've been caring for animals from as young as two years old growing up on my family farm. I've had dogs, cats, and rabbits as pets through childhood and into adulthood. I take great pride in my animal care, and care for others' animals as if they were my own. I love taking dogs on hiking adventures, and I love playing games with cats. With award-winning head-scratches, I easily win over the shyest of animals, and have not yet met a creature that did not like me. I am a songwriter who mainly works from home and takes lots of walks to engage in nature- your dog would be a welcome addition to my routine! I’m ~that kind~ of neurodivergent.. I am adept at reading animals, and I always treat them with kindness and respect. Cool in crisis, I am an excellent person to have around your pet in a worst case scenario.

About: I have been around pets my whole life, but I’ve been taking care of them on my own for about 2 years. I also have personal experience owning a dog, a cat and two guinea pigs. I have cared for pets of all ages from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets that need extra attention. Every pet I have taken care of has always been in good hands I’m a college student in the AFROTC program at UT Austin. My weekdays can get pretty busy with classes, but Mondays and Fridays I’m mostly free. I also have some breaks between classes Tuesday through Thursday where I can stop by for pet care. Fridays and weekends are usually wide open, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they need I don’t bring pets into my own home, but I make sure they’re comfortable and cared for in their own space. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep up with feeding and walks, give them playtime and attention, and make sure they feel safe while you’re away.

It only took a couple of minutes at the start of the pre-engagement meeting and for it to become clear to me that Zach is an excellent experienced dog handler. My own experience with dogs includes training Australian Shepherds for sheep herding competitions and I have qualified for national competition twice. My yardstick for rating a dog handler has a correspondingly higher bar. So along with my complement was that quick understanding that I didn’t need to know anything else and that my dog was is as safe hands as she could be in. People simply don’t reach Zach’s level of engaging with dogs without also demonstrating to the dog that the dog is in anything other than very safe hands and that doesn’t happen if it’s not actually true. So with my and the dog’s approval, Zach was hired and lived up to both mine and the dog’s expectations. No problem.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
