About: My family and I love dogs. We also love cats, but unfortunately I’m allergic to them. We’ve raised three dogs over the years and currently have a 4-year-old Golden Retriever named Jax. I pretty much work from home and have a 4 year old Golden Retreiver named Jax so our routine is already made for a dog. I have a fenced in back yard. Your dog will have a playmate in Jax. I enjoy going out and playing fetch with Jax although he's not much of a fetch guy. He enjoys me faking like I'm going to chase him and then he gets the zoomies and runs around the yard like a crazy boy.
“Ashley and Andrew couldn’t have taken better care of Bruce. He felt right at home.and was so happy. So many walks and play and love. Ashley and Andrew are so enthusiastic, very kind and very flexible. Over and above!”

“April took time to really make sure Beausarge got comfortable on his first visit. She went over his training commands and took him for a walk. He can be a little high needs and she took great care of him. We will definitely be using April again.”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I understand that pets are family. I pride myself on maintaining routines, providing plenty of exercise and affection, and keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages. My goal is to ensure every pet feels comfortable, happy, and loved while in my care. I treat every animal as if they were my own and strive to create a stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. I have a flexible schedule and provide attentive, reliable care throughout the day. This flexibility enables me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including walks, drop-in visits, boarding, and last-minute requests. I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for pets in my care. I have a friendly beagle, a fully fenced yard for supervised play and exercise, and accommodations to help pets feel at home. About: I have had dogs most of my life. From my childhood dog to the ones I raised as an adult. I have potty-trained dogs to use a bell to indicate they have to go out, taught them to back away from table food, and to give up stolen items. I will treat your dog lovingly and as if they are my own. I am mostly retired and home the majority of the day. The dog will go no longer than 4 hours without a potty break, and most days it will be shorter than that. Your pet will be the only one in the house with me. I block off my stairs so the dog is always very close and mostly within eyesight.
“Giselle came in clutch last minute when I had a work debacle. Was very flexible during all the shifting of the dogs drop off time and I got the pups back good and tired! Which is the way I always want to get the dogs back!”

“We’re so thankful to Todd for taking such great care of Maeve while we were at a friend’s wedding. From the start, he was responsive, thoughtful, and kept us updated with sweet photos of Maeve enjoying herself. She was happy, relaxed, and in great hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve always had a dog in my life to take care of. I have worked as a dog handler at a doggy day care center monitoring up to forty dogs at a time. I have been exclusively walking and watching dogs for over 2 years now. I currently have small client list building and am always looking for more experience. I walk a few dogs weekly and there’s always room for more. Every dog is different and every dog has different needs and this is a chance to learn how to communicate better. I follow the instructions of the parent. I do not have a yard but I live near a forest preserve built for dog walking and plan on using it when I take dogs for walks.
About: I’m a reliable, trustworthy pet sitter with experience caring for puppies, senior pets, dogs, and cats. I am a U.S. Army soldier. I have also taken care of all different types of pets (dogs, cats, bunnies) for family and friends growing up, including walking, boarding, feeding, and bathing. As an all around pet lover, I would love to treat your own dog like family and give them everything that need until you come back. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Hope to hear from you soon :) As of now, I am available weekends! I am free Friday’s after 3pm but other than that, I’m am free all day throughout the weekend. “Dave is by far the best dogsitter I’ve ever had on Rover. Dave is the sweetest person, he has a beautiful soul - my little pup Henri was at his house every day for two weeks straight, including weekends, and he was always so happy to go with Dave. Dave always sent me lots of photos and told me how he was doing with the other dogs. I was so reassured to have such an amazing place for Henri to go during my intensive training. Thank you so much Dave, I’m sure our paths will cross again. And thank you to Rover for bringing people like Dave into our lives!”

April was very accommodating especially since Pepsi has been having an off week with an upset tummy and a toenail injury. She knew and understood how a 1 year old male large breed dog would be. She listened to my requests and information and made sure Pepsi was in good hands. Pepsi wasn’t allowed to go outside due to his injury and April made sure to listen and entertain Pepsi indoors with her children. She is a great sitter, very caring!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Streamwood commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
