“Kendall is fantastic! Responds quickly, shows up on time, and very understanding of my dogs’ quirks. Kendall stayed at our house while we were out of town, and we’re so appreciative of the photos she sent us. I know they enjoyed being at home rather than in a kennel being boarded elsewhere. We will definitely have Kendall watch our pups again.”

“Lauriel, Thank you so much for taking care of my furry babies this weekend! You have been the best puppy sitter I have gotten from this app! Thanks again, and we hope to see you soon! Alba”

“Skyler was wonderful! She was here for our Poppy girl every night and kept as close to her routine as possible. We will definitely be reaching out to Skyler again for future stays!”

“Jennifer was so great with Remy. Treating my fur baby as her own, over communicating and sending the occasional picture! I will continue to book with Jennifer over and over”

“We had an awesome experience with Kinery! From the moment she arrived, she was warm, friendly, and so respectful of our home. She sent us regular updates (which we loved), was perfectly on time for everything, and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. Our dogs were relaxed, happy, and acting like they’d just had their own little staycation when we got home. It’s such a relief to find someone we trust, and we’d absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie was wonderful with our high maintenance German Shepherd! He's a very finicky eater, and she was very patient with him while getting him to eat on schedule. He also requires medication multiple times per day, and she was able to make sure he took it accordingly. She sent lots of pictures and videos of him happy and playing, so I know he felt comfortable with her which made our family getaway even more enjoyable! I highly recommend Stephanie for your pet sitting needs, she was very professional and communication was great.”

“We were so happy we chose Wendy for dogsitting our 12 year old Poodle. She spent so much time with her day and night. We received several pictures each day. She even got our fussy pill taker to take all her pills each day. We could not tell that anyone had been here all week. Our house was in the same condition as we left it. We highly recommend you give her a try, but please don't need her when we do!”

“Caroline did a great job taking care of our animals. Our dog has special needs and at times it can be quite challenging - I was really impressed with how well she was able to care for him. She is gentle, thoughtful, and kind. Definitely going to be asking her to come back again. Thanks Caroline!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs ranging from a few lbs to 100+ lbs for years! I have also been caring for different types of cats just as long :) Growing up we always had a dog in the house, so that has made me super comfortable to be around them. Whether I’m walking, feeding, cleaning, or administering medication, I am definitely not afraid of the job! I am a proud mama of 2 cats named Archie and Simon. They are my absolute world! I will make sure to give your pets the same care, caution, attention, and love I give my boys! Pet care has always been a passion of mine. In fact, I went to school for it! Although I did not end up pursuing my desire to become a veterinarian, I still try to incorporate that love for animals in my day to day life! I have an extremely flexible work schedule that allows me to almost work fully remote. I would be able to stop over at the house pretty much whenever you need me to. My work set up also allows me to work anywhere if needed. My weekends are almost always open as well! I will always make sure to talk through your expectations to ensure you are comfortable with the nature of each type of visit. I typically would not host any pets in our home. We have a fenced in backyard and several spaces; however, I would not want to put your pet or my cats in an uncomfortable space. At a clients home, I am more than comfortable with backyard access, crate training, cleaning litter boxes, accessing food/water, and any other requirements for the visit! (Totally fine bringing in mail/watering plants!) I will only access the spaces you need me to. I am also fine spending the night if needed. That would be something we could discuss case by case!
About: Hi, I'm Kayci! I have been rescuing animals since I was a kid. I have experience with everything from abandoned newborns to elderly pets. I am familiar with medicine administration, light therapy, bathing, etc,. I am happy to walk, play with, board or even take your fuzzy/furry to their vet visits. Any questions or special requests, just let me know! While I love all animals, I do not accept reptiles or eight-legged babies! Sorry! My availability is pretty flexible, as I'm a real estate agent who works from a home office. I am willing to work with those looking for long term care, as well as one-time visits.
“Jasmine was really great! She was in communication the entire stay. Our cat can be quite difficult and I felt she made a ton of progress no other person has before. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!”

About: Hi! Limited availability but would love to play with new friends (: I loved animals since I can remember, when I was little I used to bring every stray dog or cat home driving my parents crazy haha. I also used to help at shelters and my neighbors with their pets. I’m not afraid of any breed and I think every pet deserves a chance! I currently own 1 dog and 12 rats. In the past I took care of puppies and kittens like also other small animals. I can also take any small animal to my care. I’m energetic, playful, love to give belly scratches and snuggles! I will be a primary caretaker to animals and they will be with me for 24/7. I hope you will like my profile and let me take care of your fuzzy friend! Let me know if you have any questions! I will try to find time if you’re in emergency situation so ask! Availability limited but will try to work something out with you (: Currently not offering boarding or day care. But if I be selected to drop in visits or stays, making sure that your pet is in safe hands is my priority!

About: My love for animals hasn’t changed since I was a kid. I have babysat for several family members, staying at their houses, housing their pets for months and visiting them. I am attentive to their needs, if they need extra attention for house training or have separation anxiety, I intend to help them through it. I will never do something the pets don’t trust and I can follow any request from the owners, if there is something special. I work part-time and going to school, so my schedule is a bit everywhere. However, I keep Tuesdays open all day and can open days up if I’m capable! I will try my best to make time for those who need loving. I am very attentive to my clients pets in their home. I like to go where they feel most comfortable, adhere to the routine they are use to and keep everything safely away. I double check any entrance before leaving, ensure nothing is left on the floor or in rooms for the pets to grab and check the food/ water bowls for proper amounts.
“Debora was the best dog sitter for my dog Stark. We went on 5 day vacation to Cancun and she did an amazing job coming to the house and caring for Stark. I could tell from the start that Debora was responsible, caring and would be the perfect fit to watch Stark in our home while we were away. She even sent me clear updates along with photos and videos which were very comforting to me and my family seeing that Stark was doing really well and was happy. She did everything in her power to make sure Stark was safe, comfortable, and well cared for all around. I would recommend Debora to anyone looking for someone to care for their Dog or other pet.”

“This was the first time that I had Isaac watch my dogs. I had him house/dog sit for me. I originally chose him because of his professionalism in our texting discussions and his promptness with returning messages. We had an initial meet and greet, which he was on time for, and the dogs seemed to like him right away. While I was gone, Isaac sent pictures and updates of how things were going. When I got home, I was amazed at how clean my house was. Typically when I get home from a trip there is dog fur everywhere because my dogs shed very badly. I usually tell my dog sitters where the vacuum is in case the hair starts to bother them, but I do not expect them to vacuum the house for me. However, I never mentioned any of this to Isaac, he just took it upon himself to vacuum the house. The blankets were folded nicely on the dog beds, and on the couch. He even got my mail out of the mailbox and left it sitting for me in the house. These were all extra things that I never asked of him, he just took the initiative to do these things on his own. It was nice coming home to a house I didn’t have to immediately vacuum! I can’t say enough good things about Isaac, I will definitely check with him first when I have to leave town again!”

“Philip took care of my dogs like they were his own. He was patient, attentive, and incredibly respectful of their routines and personalities. One of my dogs can be a little anxious, and Philip handled that with calm reassurance and experience. I got thoughtful updates, photos, and honest communication the whole time. It’s rare to find someone you can trust fully with your pets, but Philip is absolutely one of those people. I’m grateful for the peace of mind he gave me.”

AMAZING doesn’t even begin to describe how incredible she was! She took amazing care of my 8-week-old puppy and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Streamwood on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 7,927 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Streamwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Streamwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Streamwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Streamwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Streamwood. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
