About: I enjoy meeting new clients and dogs everyday! Training puppies/ dogs who need help with training/dog language. I like to make sure the clients dog is happy, and enjoying my company. Making sure dogs sit for a treat, is a great way to make sure they know how to sit for a treat! It’s always good practice! It also is good with their food too! I work part time at a doggy daycare in carol stream. I enjoy meeting new clients/ dogs when they are brought into my work! I love to train newer puppies how to play, sit and stay! I have a fenced in yard and I enjoying spending some relaxing time with my pup! I get to play with him outside a lot. Sometimes i like take them on walks together or separately.
“Kendall is fantastic! Responds quickly, shows up on time, and very understanding of my dogs’ quirks. Kendall stayed at our house while we were out of town, and we’re so appreciative of the photos she sent us. I know they enjoyed being at home rather than in a kennel being boarded elsewhere. We will definitely have Kendall watch our pups again.”

“This was the first time that I had Isaac watch my dogs. I had him house/dog sit for me. I originally chose him because of his professionalism in our texting discussions and his promptness with returning messages. We had an initial meet and greet, which he was on time for, and the dogs seemed to like him right away. While I was gone, Isaac sent pictures and updates of how things were going. When I got home, I was amazed at how clean my house was. Typically when I get home from a trip there is dog fur everywhere because my dogs shed very badly. I usually tell my dog sitters where the vacuum is in case the hair starts to bother them, but I do not expect them to vacuum the house for me. However, I never mentioned any of this to Isaac, he just took it upon himself to vacuum the house. The blankets were folded nicely on the dog beds, and on the couch. He even got my mail out of the mailbox and left it sitting for me in the house. These were all extra things that I never asked of him, he just took the initiative to do these things on his own. It was nice coming home to a house I didn’t have to immediately vacuum! I can’t say enough good things about Isaac, I will definitely check with him first when I have to leave town again!”

“Caroline did a great job looking after our two dogs at our house, while we were traveling. One of our dogs is very skittish but Caroline was very patient with her. She paid close attention to the pups. She is calm, reliable, and trustworthy. She kept the house clean and tidy as well. We recommend her and will be happy to have her watch our pups again!!”

“Skyler was awesome! She communicated well and responded quickly. Augie loved playing and spending time with her. We would definitely recommend Skyler and use her again. Thank you!!”

Learning to handle and bathe dogs from the smallest Toy Poodle all the way to the largest Great Dane from volunteering. Speaking of Danes; I share my home with two rescue Great Danes and a Sun Conure. I specialize in dogs and am a former volunteer at Anderson Animal Shelter and Anderson's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. I can sit for your pets almost any day! I'm free most of the time, other than when I'm out meeting other pets. I provide a large yard for my dogs, a seperate room for my bird, frequent vet checkups, healthy diets, all day access to water and outdoors, moderated chewys and toys, and a personal dog cage for sleeping in at night. In a client's home, instructions and routines are taken very seriously, no matter how specific, to ensure that a pet is well taken care of at all times.
“We were so happy we chose Wendy for dogsitting our 12 year old Poodle. She spent so much time with her day and night. We received several pictures each day. She even got our fussy pill taker to take all her pills each day. We could not tell that anyone had been here all week. Our house was in the same condition as we left it. We highly recommend you give her a try, but please don't need her when we do!”

“Stephanie was great! I was concerned and hesitant as a first timer to Rover and with Stephanie. She immediately put my mind at ease with immediate text responses, pictures and going above and beyond the basic care for cooper. Typically my dog would not eat the first day we’re gone. He ate more then usual. It was clear that when we came home he was happy and not stressed. Thank you Stephanie!”

Suzanna is the best! She took such great care of our sweet pup who has bone cancer. Her care required medications twice per day and lots of patience and love. She gives frequent updates and photos and gives you such peace of mind knowing that your dog is being cared for by someone who truly loves animals. She stayed in our home and left in cleaner than when we left! We are so grateful to have found Suzanna on Rover!

Alyssa is wonderful and took such good care of our animal family. She is a gem and was a perfect fit for our furry ones! It was a pleasure working with her! She is very kind, caring, responsible and professional. Jakey, our dog, was happy to see us when we returned home, but he was also looking for Alyssa, his new best friend. Look forward to using her in the future!
We couldn't be happier with the care our dogs received! From the very beginning, Julie was warm, reliable, and incredibly attentive. Our puppies can be a little shy at first, but they took to Julie right away-always a great sign. Throughout the stay, we received regular updates and photos which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, relaxed puppies and a spotless home. We're so grateful to have found someone we can trust completely. Highly recommend Julie anyone looking for a caring and responsible dog sitter!

Maddison did a fantastic job taking care of my dog! She was responsible, caring, and kept me updated the whole time, which gave me total peace of mind. My pup was happy and well looked after when I got home. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred South Elgin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in South Elgin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Elgin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
