“Excellent!!! Our pups loved having Kimberly here and I have a very good feeling they were well loved!! She communicated daily, sent pictures and updates which was very nice - definitely recommend and will use again!”

“Ann has watched my pups prior and they were SO happy to see her return!!! I have her booked for our future vacations as well. She is the best, sends lots to pictures, keeps me updated and house is perfect when I returned.”

“Erika is a sweetheart! She did a wonderful job caring for my cat while I was out of town. She left my place cleaner than she found it and kept in communication to calm an anxious cat-mom's mind. Would recommend and plan on asking her again when the time comes.”

About: With over 12 years of experience, I've cared for multiple dogs, trained two, and consistently follow routines. I enjoy walking dogs and ensuring they’re happy, healthy, and well-fed. I’ve also cared for my uncle’s dogs and picked up many effective training techniques along the way. I'm reliable, patient, and passionate about giving every dog the attention and structure they need. I currently don’t have another job, so my schedule is completely open and flexible. I’m available any day, any time, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Whether it’s a last-minute request or a regular routine, I’m happy to adjust to what works best for you and your dog’s needs. My open availability means you can always count on me. I always follow the feeding and walking schedules provided by clients to ensure each dog’s routine stays consistent and comfortable. Most clients leave a list or specific details, and I make sure to stick to them closely. In between scheduled tasks, I spend quality time playing with the dogs, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company so they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while you're away.
“Nick did a fantastic job with our old girl Tia! He watched her in our home. He came several times a day and sent a report and pictures everyday. Nick let us know when he 1st arrived and when he finished his visit. Thanks for taking care of our girl and home!”

“We interviewed several people to house sit and watch our.pets. We chose Sarah to house sit for our 2 adult German shepherds. Most people are intimidated by them. They absolutely love her and she is so good with them. We have had Sarah for almost 1 year, and she has not let us down.”

About: I grew up around a variety of animals my whole life and I have been caring for others pets since I was 13 years old. I have always loved animals and treat everyone's pets as if they were my own. My senior year of high school I created my senior project around therapy dogs and helping special needs children. I trained my own dog to be a certified therapy dog through the organization known as Pet Partners. The remainder of the project was visiting with special needs children and doing educational activities. We also visited libraries and young children with developing their reading skills. I recently graduated from Purdue University with an Animal Science degree which has allowed me to gain even more knowledge on how to care for people's pets. I also have knowledge of animal CPR and first aid for cats and dogs. I'm looking forward to being apart of this pet care community and providing excellent care to all the pets I encounter.
“Melanie is absolutely amazing! From the moment we met, I could tell my dog was in good hands. She took such loving care of him, sent me daily photos and updates, and made sure he stuck to his routine. It’s so hard to find someone you can truly trust, but Melanie went above and beyond. I’ll definitely be booking again — highly recommend her to anyone who wants their dog treated like family! 💕🐶”

“Emily is great! She was able to house sit for us over the weekend and she was super friendly, sent lots of updates, and took great care of Penny. She was eager to learn about Penny and her routine and stick to it so that she was comfortable while we were gone. Not only did she take great care of our dog Penny, she also left the house extremely clean. I would highly recommend Emily to watch your pups!”

“This is our second time having Gail watch Duke - she’s attentive, responsive and all the things you want with someone watching your fur baby! She goes the extra mile not only as a dog sitter but in your house, too. The house was spotless and not a thing out of place. We can’t wait to have Gail watch Duke again!”

“Josh and Susan have watched our 2 pups 3 times now and we couldn’t be happier. It’s the best feeling going away and knowing our pets are in good hands. The pics they send are always a great bonus. We will definitely use them again. 😊”

“My friend’s birthday was downtown Saturday night and despite knowing about it ahead of time, I waited until the last minute to find someone to hang with Caesar. Megan helped me out with no hesitation. The thing I appreciated was the most was she didn’t bombard me with questions or updates during the stay. I feel like it is hard to enjoy yourself when you are second guessing if the person hanging with your pup is up to the task. Highly recommend and will book her again.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Julie took such wonderful care of our puppy, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was obvious he was getting plenty of love, attention, and care.”

“Maddie was great! She stayed at our house with our 14 year old, blind fur baby, Liz. She kept us well informed throughout the weekend. It was so nice to have a trustworthy sitter and return to a happy, relaxed dog. Liz was in excellent hands, and we could tell she felt completely comfortable and safe with Maddie. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and reliable sitter!”

About: A walk without a dog is a missed opportunity. I have been a pet owner for 30 years. Chester, Goldie and Anya graced our home with love, lots of fur and many cuddles. I care for all pets as I have my own with a nurturing, adventurous attitude. I look forward to meeting your family! I go for long walks daily and would love to include your pet on the journey. I am available to care for your pet before and after work. I am off most weekends and some weekdays as well. I have a loving kitty who grew up with dogs and cats. I am happy to care for your pet in home. I have an available kennel for pups who find comfort there at night and am also happy to cuddle and play with them where they thrive. Miles of greenway are just steps away from my home.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Julie took such wonderful care of our puppy, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was obvious he was getting plenty of love, attention, and care.

Megan was a wonderful sitter! She was attentive, loving and sweet with our puppy while we were away for the weekend. She has a clear communication style that is warm and informative. She went above and beyond to keep our home clean and use the space well and blew us away that she taught our dog not to jump in the 2 days we were gone! She has a gift for animals and it shows. Highly recommend!!

Goka was great. She is trustworthy and obviously loves animals. She took our dog on walks (more than he's used to with just us, which I'm sure he loved), visited frequently and sent us photos of how he was doing. It was really great for him to be able to stay at home.

I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter for my puppy Queenie! From the start it was clear her knowledge of dogs and puppies was far beyond the basics, and the little details made a big difference. She was reliable and trustworthy from the beginning. I never had to worry while being away— she communicated regularly, gave updates, and followed through on every commitment. Highly recommend without reservation! A+++

Maddie was great! Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 7,902 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Farmington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Farmington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Farmington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Farmington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Farmington. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
