“Erika is amazing. Our dog takes some time to trust strangers and she has been very patient with him. Her experience and background are what drew us to her and it is proving that we made the right decision. We will be hiring Erika again on a regular basis.”

“Jessica had great communication and sent us some sweet pictures and updates of our dog when we were gone! Happy to know he was loved when we weren’t home. Thank you!!”

“Stephanie very clearly cares about the animals she looks after and it is easy to see she has their best interest at heart. She also is able to read the personalities of different animals and caters her care to each specific animal. I am so glad she is around and will definitely call her again!”
“We absolutely love having Mary watch our pups! After 4 years, we definitely consider her a part of our little family. She is so patient with our dogs, especially our little one who can be aggressive. We always feel so at peace knowing both dogs are in the best hands, and are getting the very best care💕”

About: I've grown up with animals my entire life and have been caring for them as long as I can remember. For the past three years, I've worked at a local animal shelter, giving me experience in caring for cats and dogs with a range of personalities and behavioral needs. I'm also comfortable giving medication to pets if needed. In addition, I have dog sat for family friends before, so I have experience in this type of care. I have also foster four different dogs that have all gotten adopted, so I'm used to many different personalities. I work part-time four days a week so I can easily find time to care for your animals around that! On Sundays and Mondays I can drop in before 7:30 am or after 12 pm and on Tuesdays and Fridays I can drop in before 2 pm or after 6pm. I am willing to do whatever fits your pet's routine during my drop in visits. I would love to spend time with them each day and make sure they have a great time while you're away. I can crate pets as needed. I'm very flexible on the type of care I'm asked to provide.

About: I have been taking care of animals from a young age of 15. I grew up with a German shepherd which started my love for dogs. I use to volunteer at an animal shelter in Iowa when I was going to college. I would walk every single dog because it would break my heart to see them stuck in such a small space. I also rescued around 20 dogs, 50 cats, and one monkey when I was living overseas. I am very empathetic towards animals especially because they are such innocent beings. I also worked with different rescue groups overseas. I currently have 3 dogs I rescued from Peru South America. Their stories are pretty crazy but now they are living the dog dream. So I am very excited to work with animals! I am a stay at home mom looking to help owners with their pets. Having 3 dogs myself I know how necessary it is to have help! 1st I would like to come meet the pet first so we can create a trust. Then I would make sure they were comfortable in their home with plenty of food and water. I would just follow all the rules the owner has for me especially if there dog is on a specific diet. If it is okay with the owner also carry training treats with me for walks.
“Great energy! My dog absolutely loved her and it felt like he got all the attention he needed! Would definitely come back to Vicki to have her watch Kovu again!”

About: I grew up taking care of my 2 collies and helping out with family members pets. I am experienced with managing large breeds and high energy dogs. I am currently on summer break from university, so I have a lot more free time. I am available on weekdays after 11 and weekends I have full availability. Once I return to school in late August, my schedule will change slightly. I’ll be available on weekdays after 1:30 PM and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If I happen to get out of class early, I may also be available before 1:30 on some days. Safety is my top priority. I treat every pet as my own, maintaining a calm, clean, and safe environment. Ahead of time, I ask about any triggers your pet may have and make sure we walk in comfortable environments.
“She did a great job with my dogs Sutton and Chaz for weekend drop-ins! I honestly don’t know how she managed to walk both of them together, because Sutton can be a terrible walker, but I came home to two very happy dogs. Everything was taken care of, and it was such a relief knowing they were in good hands. I’d definitely recommend her!”

“Sarah did a fabulous job taking care of our two cats. She was timely in her visits and gave updates on how they were doing. The cats were lucky to have such a wonderful caregiver.”

“Elena was fantastic! Elena watched our two pets (Guinea Pigs) while we were out of town. Both pets are recent rescues and they both warmed up to Elena right away. We are very pleased. Elena is very friendly, respectful, great communication, and knowledgeable. We had peace of mind knowing out pets where in great hands.”

Absolutely wonderful catsitter! 🐾❤️ Teagan went above and beyond caring for my cats and I genuinely cannot emphasize enough how amazing she was. From the moment she started, I could tell my cats were in such good hands. She made sure their food plates were clean, spent quality time playing with them and was incredibly attentive to their needs. She also made sure their litter area stayed clean and tidy so there was no mess or unpleasantness left around the house. It was clear that she wasn’t just stopping by to check the basics—she genuinely cared about making sure my cats were happy, comfortable and well looked after. Teagan is such a lovely, thoughtful and responsible person. ❤️ Knowing how well she cared for my cats gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I honestly felt completely relaxed knowing they were under her supervision, which is incredibly important to me as a pet parent. I would 100% recommend Teagan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring and attentive to look after their pets. She truly went above and beyond and I’m so grateful for the care and love she gave my cats!

Cynthia always takes the best care of our cats. This time we had a cat that was separated due to a surgery and Cynthia gave her just as much attention as the other 4 cats. Our girls love playing with Cynthia and the toys she brings. We never worry about our girls because we know Cynthia will care for them like her own. Thank you again Cynthia!

Vicki was absolutely amazing with our diabetic cat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. Giving insulin and caring for a diabetic pet requires experience, patience, and attention to detail, and Vicki handled everything with confidence and compassion. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our cat’s well-being and treated him like one of her own. Knowing our cat was in such capable, loving hands allowed us to truly relax on our trip. We highly recommend Vicki to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and caring pet sitter, especially if your pet has special medical needs. We will definitely be booking with her again!

We have used Kassandra for three years now, and she never disappoints. She takes great care of our two cats, sends us tons of pictures, and keeps us consistently updated. She goes above and beyond, vacuuming, taking out the trash, and more! We love Kassandra, and you will too!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
