“I had Sarah stay in my house for a weekend that I was out of town and she was absolutely amazing!!! I have 2 boys...Romeo is a social butterfly, knows no strangers but Rafael is a special boy that is very scared and timid around people he doesn't know. After Sarah came over for a meet and greet, Rafi immediately remembered her and loved on her when she came back over to stay for the weekend!! I believe that dogs are excellent judges of character and the way that both Rafi and Romeo acted with Sarah spoke volumes to me!!! I highly recommend her and I will most definitely be contacting her again!!! ?”

“We are so glad we booked Bonnie! It was so nice to be able to not worry about our pets and house while we were out of the country. She went above and beyond to care for our pets and sent us the sweetest updates. Thank you so much!”

“Melanie is absolutely amazing! From the moment we met, I could tell my dog was in good hands. She took such loving care of him, sent me daily photos and updates, and made sure he stuck to his routine. It’s so hard to find someone you can truly trust, but Melanie went above and beyond. I’ll definitely be booking again — highly recommend her to anyone who wants their dog treated like family! 💕🐶”

About: Dogs are a gift from heaven. I have a gift of love for dogs. My dogs mean the world to me. They are everything. When ever I see someone walking their dog I say hi to the dog! I am patient and caring. I believe dogs need that because just like us they have feelings and triggers. I understand each dog is different and I will most certainly adapt to your dogs needs. And of course give plenty of snoot kisses. I am the type of dog lover to lay on the ground with your dog, have conversations and send plenty of pictures and updates to you 🧡 I work a part time job from 5am to 10am. And the rest of the day is for the dogs and whatever they need! Frequent potty breaks and long walks I have unfenced 3 acres and quiet streets and walking trails for exercise and a 7 year old boxer Shepard mix who loves to play. My dog and any dog are allowed on furniture unless you suggest otherwise. I love to walk or wven run long distance. My doggo baylee and I love to 8 miles most days.
“Jacqueline took good care of my Jojo while I had to be on a work trip. She always communicated with me, sent pictures, and Jojo enjoyed being with her. Jojo is a reactive dog, and Jacqueline handled it well. I definitely recommend Jacqueline for dogwalking, sitting, etc!”

“Valerie was great on her first visit. She was very attentive to my nervous pup who wasn’t nervous at all with her. My time away was so enjoyable because of her. Will be rebooking over and over. Thank you!”

About: I have helped look after other peoples pets since I was younger. I have a genuine love for all animals and enjoy looking after them. I am currently a student and coach. I would love to fit pet care into my morning or weekend routine and possible overnights as well. I live in a small apartment and would not be able to bring them to my place, but I do have a care and am a reliable person to come to your home and love your pet.

“Stephanie is a God send. We were in a real emergency and called her at 5pm to come and take care of Frito. She did not hesitate. She came over later that night and stayed through the morning. She sent us pictures of Frito and he was so happy and relaxed. Frito is a naturally anxious dog, we adopted him through a kill shelter. This is the amazing part. She had met Frito once but had not sat for him yet - we have a future booking. We were so confident once we met Stephanie that we knew Frito would be lovingly cared for. Stephanie goes above and beyond (as demonstrated here). She was intuitive with our Frito and knew exactly what he needed. We feel so grateful to have Stephanie as Frito's sitter and you will too.”

About: Animals have always been at the center of my life. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs, cats, goats, sheep, and chickens, so reading animal behavior, staying calm under pressure and knowing when somethings off comes naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve trained my own dogs, worked with rescue animals, and volunteered with KARE, where I help rehabilitate, both wild and domestic animals. That experience has taught me how to handle pets of all temperament and backgrounds, including those who were shy, anxious, or still learning the ropes. I personally cared for dogs, cats, ferrets, chinchillas, sugar, gliders, hedgehogs, snakes, fish, turtles, parrots, and a wide variety of reptiles, so chances are, I’ve worked with a pet like yours before! I bring patience and consistency to every interaction, whether it’s a quick drop in or a longer house sit. What sets me apart is that I don’t just love animals, I understand them. Your pet isn’t just a booking to me, they’re a living creature who deserves calm, attentive care from someone who genuinely knows what they’re doing. i’m generally available weekday mornings, weekday evenings, and weekends. My schedule varies week to week, so I keep my calendar updated in real time. If you don’t see any availability that works, feel free to reach out as my schedule sometimes opens up with short notice! when I’m in your home, my priority is keeping your pet safe and as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow your KARE instructions closely, do a quick safety check on arrival, and reach out immediately if anything seems off. You’ll get photo updates every visit so you can see your pet is happy and well cared for.

“Abby was fantastic!!! She was so flexible in a very stressful emergency situation and incredibly communicative. I appreciate her being available last minute and for taking such good care of my dog!”

About: Animals have been an important part of my life since I was a teenager, when my family had dogs and I learned the responsibility that comes with caring for them. Over the years, I have had both dogs and cats and have cared for them through every stage of life—from the excitement and energy of their first days with me to providing love, patience, and comfort during their final moments. These experiences have taught me that caring for a pet is about much more than feeding and walks. It’s about understanding their personalities, routines, needs, and the little things that make them feel safe and loved. I know how deeply pets become part of the family, and I would care for yours with the same kindness, attention, and respect I have always given my own. I work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility to be present and attentive throughout the day. I can easily accommodate regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, or simply some extra cuddles and companionship. Because I’m home for much of the day, your pets won’t have to spend long periods alone. I enjoy having furry companions nearby while I work and can adjust my routine to fit their individual needs and usual schedule. Whether they’re energetic and ready for a walk or happiest curled up beside me, I’m happy to give them the attention and company that makes them feel comfortable and loved. I have experience caring for pets and understand the importance of keeping them comfortable, happy, and secure while their owners are away. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, companionship, and each pet’s individual routine and personality. I’m equally respectful when caring for someone’s home. I keep things clean, tidy, and secure, follow instructions carefully, and treat every home as if it were my own. I’m dependable, responsible, and happy to provide regular updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets and home are being well cared for.

“I can't recommend Jed highly enough! He truly saved the day by accepting my booking at the very last minute. He was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional. Most importantly, Mazi adored him. I will definitely be booking with him again!”

Communication skills were great, always providing us updates and videos on our pups while we were away. We highly recommend Stephanie and will definitely use her again in the future”

“Renee was awesome. She took care of our 2 dogs at our home while we were away. Our doggies loved her! She’ll be our first one to contact whenever the same situation occurs again. A million thanks to her!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost of House Sitting in Wasco is $67 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $39 and $83 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.
As of November 2026, there are 6,175 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wasco. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wasco walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wasco maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wasco choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
