About: I enjoy meeting new clients and dogs everyday! Training puppies/ dogs who need help with training/dog language. I like to make sure the clients dog is happy, and enjoying my company. Making sure dogs sit for a treat, is a great way to make sure they know how to sit for a treat! It’s always good practice! It also is good with their food too! I work part time at a doggy daycare in carol stream. I enjoy meeting new clients/ dogs when they are brought into my work! I love to train newer puppies how to play, sit and stay! I have a fenced in yard and I enjoying spending some relaxing time with my pup! I get to play with him outside a lot. Sometimes i like take them on walks together or separately.

About: I've taken care of cats my whole life, and I know that each one has their own personalities. I'm patient, having taught my own cats basic commands that they generally listen to. I have experience with diabetic and senior felines as well. My experience doesn't stop with felines, though, I've cared for many kinds of animals over the years. Among them are snakes, rats, mice, hamsters, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, fresh water fish, small birds, and dogs. I work part time, but my ultimate goal is to make pet sitting my main career. I've always preferred being around and taking care of animals. I treat animals how I'd want to be treated if i was in their paws, and same with people and their property. Always leave a place as good or better than you found it.

About: I am 19 years old and I like to go by Leslie. Growing up on a farm along with multiple giant dogs, I've learned my fair share of pet care. Learning to handle and bathe dogs from the smallest Toy Poodle all the way to the largest Great Dane from volunteering. Speaking of Danes; I share my home with two rescue Great Danes and a Sun Conure. I specialize in dogs and am a former volunteer at Anderson Animal Shelter and Anderson's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. I can sit for your pets almost any day! I'm free most of the time, other than when I'm out meeting other pets. I provide a large yard for my dogs, a seperate room for my bird, frequent vet checkups, healthy diets, all day access to water and outdoors, moderated chewys and toys, and a personal dog cage for sleeping in at night. In a client's home, instructions and routines are taken very seriously, no matter how specific, to ensure that a pet is well taken care of at all times.

Kinery was outstanding. She housesat for us and our puppy and cat, and the entire time we felt 100% confident they were in good hands. It was our first time leaving our pup with anyone, and she treated him like he was her own. She went above and beyond, even buying him special treats and taking him for a play date with her own dog. She gave special attention to our overly anxious cat to make him as comfortable as possible. We will definitely call her anytime we need someone to watch them, and highly recommend her to anyone who needs pet care!

About: I have gained the reputation in my neighborhood to be the one to call for any pet needs. I’ve taken care dogs, cats, even chickens and I love every second of it. I am currently a college student and I am taking classes over the summer. I am basically free all the time and I am able to schedule my week around pet care. I have pets at home so I will not be able to bring animals into it. I will care for animals at the clients home, allowing the animal to be comfortable in its own environment.

About: I’ve worked as a dog caretaker at a doggy daycare for a couple years. During that time I’ve done basic care for the dogs but also have had to learn to administer insulin to some dogs. Whilst also helping to foster multiple dogs over the years. Most recently I have worked as a dog bather for over two and a half years. I am comfortable around all dogs and sizes. I’m currently looking to work with animals part time as they are a big part of my life and what brings me joy. Being able to be around and help dogs or cats have a better day means a lot. Whatever is needed for your fur family member I am able to accommodate. I understand some dogs are on routines that need to be kept. I also respect the wishes of the client and their home.

This was the first time that I had Isaac watch my dogs. I had him house/dog sit for me. I originally chose him because of his professionalism in our texting discussions and his promptness with returning messages. We had an initial meet and greet, which he was on time for, and the dogs seemed to like him right away. While I was gone, Isaac sent pictures and updates of how things were going. When I got home, I was amazed at how clean my house was. Typically when I get home from a trip there is dog fur everywhere because my dogs shed very badly. I usually tell my dog sitters where the vacuum is in case the hair starts to bother them, but I do not expect them to vacuum the house for me. However, I never mentioned any of this to Isaac, he just took it upon himself to vacuum the house. The blankets were folded nicely on the dog beds, and on the couch. He even got my mail out of the mailbox and left it sitting for me in the house. These were all extra things that I never asked of him, he just took the initiative to do these things on his own. It was nice coming home to a house I didn’t have to immediately vacuum! I can’t say enough good things about Isaac, I will definitely check with him first when I have to leave town again!

We were so happy we chose Wendy for dogsitting our 12 year old Poodle. She spent so much time with her day and night. We received several pictures each day. She even got our fussy pill taker to take all her pills each day. We could not tell that anyone had been here all week. Our house was in the same condition as we left it. We highly recommend you give her a try, but please don't need her when we do!

Lydia sat for my 2 dogs for 8 days while I was visiting family. The dogs did just fine and seemed happy when I came home. The deal was to stay in my house where they felt safe and at home. They stayed at her house instead, not what I had planned. But they were safe and taken care of and that is what matters. I received a few photos and minimal communication. It is hard to leave our loved ones at home, but everything turned out fine.

FAQs for House Sitting - East Dundee

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Dundee on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,899 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Dundee. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Dundee walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Dundee maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Dundee choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Dundee. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
