“Isabella did a great job with our two dogs overnight! We had some changes last minute on our end to arrival and departure times and she was very flexible with our needs. She sent lots of pictures, asked good questions, followed our instructions, and we came back to happy dogs! Thank you!!”

“Jacqueline took good care of my Jojo while I had to be on a work trip. She always communicated with me, sent pictures, and Jojo enjoyed being with her. Jojo is a reactive dog, and Jacqueline handled it well. I definitely recommend Jacqueline for dogwalking, sitting, etc!”

About: Hey! I'm Jayda, an animal lover providing responsible and loving care. I specialize in puppy training and gentle senior care, ensuring every pet feels safe and cherished. Your furry friend's well-being is my top priority! Pet care fits seamlessly into my flexible daily and weekly routine. As a part-time worker and college student, my schedule allows me to dedicate ample time to your pet's needs. I can easily adjust my availability to accommodate walks, playtime, feeding, and any necessary care, ensuring your furry friend receives consistent attention and love, no matter what! I have a big yard with no fences but willing to walk animals in my neighborhood and my house is animal friendly. No one smokes or drinks as well it’s a clean house.
“Miranda took such good care of my home and my dog! I got daily photos and updates on how my little guy was doing. The house also looks untouched, as if someone didn’t stay there the week I was gone! I will definitely be a return customer!”

“We enjoyed having Emily care for our Great Dane and kitty! They adored her and were completely relaxed by the time we returned from our trip! She was responsive and she came to visit in timely increments for house sitting. All in all, it was a great experience using Rover, though some of the sitters were confused with the house sitting time frame settings, they may need to be versed there. Outside of that particular scenario, it was an excellent experience.”
“Eloise is amazing. I felt very confident from the start of our interactions to the meet and greet and the eventual stay that she would take great care of Opal. I was correct! She’s super thorough yet laidback, sent updates and was easy to communicate with!”

“We can't tell you how amazing Sandy was! She came to our rescue in a dire situation. She went above and beyond on every level from taking care of all of our pets to doing other things we never expected! She was providing updates and pictures for us while we were away and maintained our house as well. Anyone would be extremely lucky to have her care for your animals! She will be our go to whenever we are in need of a sitter in the future! We need more people like Sandy in this world.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 11, my dogs, my friends dog’s, and my family members dogs, I’ve fed them, walked them and bathed them. Right now I have a free schedule and starting next month on the 24th I will be starting my classes at Elgin community college doing 5 classes, for 4 days a week Since my parents work most of the time, we bought cameras to keep an eye on the dogs whenever no one is home to take care of them and everyday I make sure they get exercise by playing around the house, We also make sure they get some sun by letting them play outside.

“Fantastic job with our cat— took the time to play and spend time with him. Our cat got more comfortable more quickly than he does with most sitters. During our meet and greet, you could tell he loves animals. Would book again 100%.”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was born. My first dog was a 100 pound German Shepard mix, then we got a miniature border collie mix, then a hound, and now we have a one year old german shepard belgian malinois. I have helped train and take care of all of our family dogs and we take our dogs on at least 2 walks a day! I can take care of any type of dog and I will of course love every animal I take care of. I have no problem picking up poop on walks! I would love to help you take care of your Dogs! I am currently a college student at Judson University studying Architecture. I would be able to take care of your pet before 7:45am and I am available during lunch time. I am also volleyball player and practices are normally from 4-6 so I would be able to go over after that. MWF I have class from 1-5 so I wouldn’t be able to go in that time frame and my volleyball games are normally Tuesday and Thursday nights which I could go over after those. I have a fenced in yard at my house but I also have energetic dogs so I take them on walks every day twice a day. They both love to play fetch and obviously they love to go on their daily walks. I can do anything from just letting them out and throwing the ball for them to walking around the block or even a mile. I am flexible with what kind of service your pet may need!
“We had an awesome experience with Kinery! From the moment she arrived, she was warm, friendly, and so respectful of our home. She sent us regular updates (which we loved), was perfectly on time for everything, and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. Our dogs were relaxed, happy, and acting like they’d just had their own little staycation when we got home. It’s such a relief to find someone we trust, and we’d absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: Dogs are a gift from heaven. I have a gift of love for dogs. My dogs mean the world to me. They are everything. When ever I see someone walking their dog I say hi to the dog! I am patient and caring. I believe dogs need that because just like us they have feelings and triggers. I understand each dog is different and I will most certainly adapt to your dogs needs. And of course give plenty of snoot kisses. I am the type of dog lover to lay on the ground with your dog, have conversations and send plenty of pictures and updates to you 🧡 I work a part time job from 5am to 10am. And the rest of the day is for the dogs and whatever they need! Frequent potty breaks and long walks I have unfenced 3 acres and quiet streets and walking trails for exercise and a 7 year old boxer Shepard mix who loves to play. My dog and any dog are allowed on furniture unless you suggest otherwise. I love to walk or wven run long distance. My doggo baylee and I love to 8 miles most days.
About: I’ve grown up taking care of numerous types of animals, primarily cats and dogs. My neighbors, family and friends rely on me for their pet care needs because I treat them as my own, giving them love and attention in addition to their regular feedings and potty needs. I am available on the weekends! On Friday’s, my availability would start after 5pm. I am available all day on Saturdays. Sunday’s I do take care of horses during the day from 9am-3pm; however, I am available before and after for walks and potty breaks. I make your pet’s needs my main priority. If they should make any messes while you are away, I always do my best to clean it up as thought it never happened, so you can come home to a happy fur baby and find your home just the way you left it.
About: We as a family do not have any dogs or cats in the home, so your fur friend will get all the love and attention it needs. We love to spoil them if we can and let them explore our home like it's their own. During the week, I am typically at work during the day, but i work remotely at least once a week so i can be flexible with enough notice. I will always make sure your pets are fed and are given proper bathroom time, no one likes accidents inside the home, but sometimes they do occur. I will clean it as well as possible and make sure your fur friend is okay and give them all the love. I do understand that some pets can be more hesitant or shy, I am always prepared to gain their trust over time and would never rush the process.
“Sydney was great! Very friendly and willing to do all the tiny things our little guys needed! She sent us pictures and kept us updated on how they were doing as this was their first time with a sitter. We would highly recommend her for anyone and hope to use her services again. I'd rate higher if I could.”

“10 stars for Riley! She took such good care of all of our pets, I can't thank her enough. It made our trip so much more pleasant knowing that everything was running smoothly at home. She is by far the best sitter we have had and most important our pets love her too.”

“Suzanna- was a pleasure to work with. She sent me pictures of my dogs while I was out. Very much on time when we discussed leaving and coming back to the house. We certainly felt comfortable with her at our house. Would highly recommend again! Thank you for staying with our pups! Joanna C.”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs for the last 1( years, all over 40lbs. I’m also familiar with dealing with reactive dogs, I was social distancing well before that was a thing 😃. I’ve taken care of my parent’s cat for the last 2 years and I’m comfortable with changing cat litter. I look forward to meeting you and your pups/kittens. I’m currently in school on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, after 5pm. The rest of my schedule is open to provide the service your pet needs. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Almora Heights
Jennifer is very patient and caring. She took her time with my dog warming up to her and building trust. She communicated throughout with any questions or concerns. Helped me ease the separation anxiety. Upon arriving at home I could see that my dog was good and well taken care of and greeted us full of excitement.

Isabella did a great job with our two dogs overnight! We had some changes last minute on our end to arrival and departure times and she was very flexible with our needs. She sent lots of pictures, asked good questions, followed our instructions, and we came back to happy dogs! Thank you!!

Scott took great care of our animals! We have two rascally dogs, and three cats who keep us busy. Our largest dog weighs 160 pounds and was so traumatized the last time we brought him to a bordering facility he didn’t stop crying for two weeks after we brought him home. After staying in our home with Scott the dogs were happy to see us, but fully themselves and the happy dogs we left. Additionally, the house was clean and neat when we got home. Thank you Scott!

Heather was so great with our senior dog. She stayed at our house and it was so nice to know our dog was cared for while we were gone. Our dog is not easy, she has mobility and potty issues and Heather handled her so well. She was very communicative while we were away, sent us daily updates and pictures.

Alyssa is wonderful and took such good care of our animal family. She is a gem and was a perfect fit for our furry ones! It was a pleasure working with her! She is very kind, caring, responsible and professional. Jakey, our dog, was happy to see us when we returned home, but he was also looking for Alyssa, his new best friend. Look forward to using her in the future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Almora Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Almora Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Almora Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
