“Our first visit with Avery and it was Great! Avery seemed to bond with our Dog Harley almost immediately from first meet and greet. She was prompt with communication and photos . We will definitely will not hesitate to use her pet care again in the future.”

“I help rescue and foster special needs dogs, those physically or mentally abused. While helping Sadie as a temporary foster, no one in the rescue group was willing to take care of her. So, I decided to add her to my family. I say this because I need someone that understand how to care for Sadie emotional needs. From the very first time Sadie and I met Jordyn, we knew she would be the perfect sitter when I travel for work. Jordyn gave so much love to Sadie while I was gone that I was able to focus on work and not worry about Sadie. Jordyn was amazing sending me updates and photos!! When I travel for work in the future Jordyn will be the only person I call to take care of Sadie.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life. Currently live with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and my family has 3 other dogs! I’ve dog-sat for many years, both staying at homes and frequently checking in. I have a natural way of connecting with animals, and I love spending time with them! During the summer, I will have availability to walk dogs, let dogs out, and care for pets during the day and evenings on weekdays. June weekdays I am available after 12, and July weekdays I am available all day. Weekend availability is not consistent throughout the summer. I live with two dogs and two cats. I walk the dogs frequently, feed them breakfast and dinner, and keep their spaces clean and safe! I monitor pets as they chew on toys, and throw away toys that could be dangerous. Managing 4 pets is a handful, but I love it!

My schedule is very open for overnight stays, drop ins, and dog walking! I have always loved and carried a deep understanding and respect for all animals. I love caring and providing the best care for them 🧡 Im currently a part time artist with a very open and flexible schedule so I have plenty of time to fit your pets into my schedule providing the best care! “THANK YOU so much for taking such good care of Freya! We had Katelynn stay at our house for 5 days and we got so many updates about how Freya was doing. Will ABSOLUTELY continue to book Katelynn, especially since we have a major surgery coming up for Freya and there might be days where I cannot come home and check on her during work. Thanks again!”

About: I am experienced in administering medicinal injections, nail trimming and teeth brushing of larger breeds, lifting 60+ lbs, pad and potty training, and assisting senior and special needs dogs. I currently work remote and spend most of the day with my own pup by my side. We go to the nearby dog park at least weekly, go on two 20-25 minute walks (1mi+) daily, and play regularly throughout the day. He is very friendly and happy to tag along for any walks or play times, if the company is welcomed. I have a large crate available, if needed, and an in ground stake in the front and back yard with 30ft leads attached, allowing for plenty of time outside in shaded and unshaded areas. Food bowls are cleaned after every meal and pet waste is cleaned up after every trip outside.
“This was my first experience of using Rover so I was a little unsure of how it all worked but Jennifer was such a blessing to find, her knowledge and experience of dogs and rescue is invaluable. Angus was walked and played with and entertained. I was relaxed and able to enjoy my weekend away without worry. They even had an adventure with a squirrel being chased into the house !!!! Jennifer was very capable and confident and calm and was able to get the squirrel out !! much to Angus' excitement. LOL Jennifer was punctual, and left my home just as I left it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who needs a petsitter.”

About: I have 2 years of experience working at Petsuites, a doggy daycare and overnight boarding resort. I worked with both the pet parents and the dogs to make sure they had the best possible experience! I’ve also owned dogs and cats my whole life. I currently have 3 dogs, (Cubby, Luna, and Preston) and 3 cats, (Pumpkin, Zelda, and Pierre). I am currently taking 2 summer classes, 1 is online and I can do whenever, the other one is from 2-3:40 pm on Monday to Wednesday. I have a fenced yard with cut grass, gates to areas they can’t be in, and a ton of toys! I set multiple timers to make sure all of my pets needs are met on time.
“Was extremely kind and diligent and took the best care of pepper. I gave Mia a bafflingly long list of random instructions and she followed them to a tee and handled everything well. So so trustworthy. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter.”

“Highly recommend Jessica. Came home to two happy dogs and a bouquet of pretty flowers. Jessica gave me daily updates and pictures. Will definitely have her watch Molly and Maibel again.”

“Scott was amazing with our two dogs! He took fantastic care of our dogs and our home while we were away. We got regular updates and communication which gave us the reassurance they were in great hands. They got daily walks and playtime. Highly recommend Scott and would rebook him in the future!”

“Valerie did an amazing job with our three doggos. She was very easy to communicate with, sent us daily pics and we came home to a clean house and very happy pups! We would 100% use her services again and recommend anyone who is looking for a very caring individual who will treat your pets like her own!”
“We are beyond grateful to have found Stephanie who allowed us to enjoy a week while she stepped in and took care of our babies. Moving here without local friends or family and leaving our babies was frightening, even to the point where we considered cancelling our vacation. After meeting Stephanie, we felt at ease to leave our attention needing 8 year old Frenchie and geriatric bunny under her care. We received daily pictures and videos which helped so much to give us that peace of mind we very much needed. Also, our house was exactly the way we left it. Stephanie is very respectful and loving, we would recommend her to anyone. We look forward to our next getaway and without any hesitation, we will be using Stephanie again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gilberts walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gilberts maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gilberts choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
