“Danielle did an amazing job with our boys! She kept us informed of how they were doing. Great communication and we would be happy to have her stay here again. Highly recommended!!!”

“Danna is hands down the best dog sitter, from taking Capone on long walks everyday, errands and pampering! She sent the best pictures of their daily excursions and kept in close communication throughout. Highly recommend using her for any needs you have!”

“I help rescue and foster special needs dogs, those physically or mentally abused. While helping Sadie as a temporary foster, no one in the rescue group was willing to take care of her. So, I decided to add her to my family. I say this because I need someone that understand how to care for Sadie emotional needs. From the very first time Sadie and I met Jordyn, we knew she would be the perfect sitter when I travel for work. Jordyn gave so much love to Sadie while I was gone that I was able to focus on work and not worry about Sadie. Jordyn was amazing sending me updates and photos!! When I travel for work in the future Jordyn will be the only person I call to take care of Sadie.”

“Eloise is amazing. I felt very confident from the start of our interactions to the meet and greet and the eventual stay that she would take great care of Opal. I was correct! She’s super thorough yet laidback, sent updates and was easy to communicate with!”

“Erika was very communicative. She provided twice daily oral medication to our senior dog, Thor and gave daily updates. Erika left the house very clean too. It was so nice to come home to a happy dog. We will definitely book again!”
“Cannot say enough good things about Grace's house-sitting! She was kind and patient with my weird dog, kept me updated, and left my home in great condition. Have already booked her for another stay!!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs through walking and pet sitting since 2024, helping neighbors, friends, and family with everything from daily walks to overnight care. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities and always make sure they feel safe, exercised, and well cared for. In addition to pet care, I’ve been babysitting for about 5 years, which has made me very responsible, patient, and reliable. I’m used to being trusted in others’ homes and keeping a consistent routine. I treat every pet like my own and always make sure to provide updates and photos so you feel confident while you’re away. I have a very flexible schedule this summer, which allows me to give your pet lots of attention and care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting on both weekdays and weekends. I can adjust to your pet’s routine and make sure they get the time, exercise, and consistency they’re used to. I always prioritize safety, trust, and making pets feel comfortable in their environment. I carefully follow any instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, walking routines, and any special needs. I’m respectful of your home and make sure everything is kept clean and secure. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away.
“This was my first experience of using Rover so I was a little unsure of how it all worked but Jennifer was such a blessing to find, her knowledge and experience of dogs and rescue is invaluable. Angus was walked and played with and entertained. I was relaxed and able to enjoy my weekend away without worry. They even had an adventure with a squirrel being chased into the house !!!! Jennifer was very capable and confident and calm and was able to get the squirrel out !! much to Angus' excitement. LOL Jennifer was punctual, and left my home just as I left it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who needs a petsitter.”

“Scott is a reliable and loving dog and house sitter. Going above and beyond, he even helped with some household tasks while I was away! More importantly, he cared for my dogs as if they were his own, he even was able to win over the more difficult of the two dogs. He was able to patiently manage their more difficult qualities, like leash aggressiveness, and trash picking. I received daily updates and photos, putting me at ease. I confidently recommend Scott, and will be a repeat customer.”

“Debbie stayed with our 3 dogs while we were away and they loved having her here. She kept us informed with how our dogs were doing and anything going on at home and let us know right away when there was a little medical issue going on with one of our dogs. I would definitely recommend her and use her services again.”

“Ann was a spectacular sitter. She kept us updated on how Fiona was doing at all times. She was extremely communicative and incredibly nurturing towards Fiona. We truly felt at peace while we were away. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, caring sitter. We know we will definitely be using again.”

“Lisa took great care of my 3 dogs (including 1 puppy) while I was gone. Additionally, tidied up (puppy, remember??!!!) so I didn't have "chores" to address when I returned home.”

“Kim is so sweet !!! As a dog owner I always hate having to leave my girls anywhere but Kim is such a good dog caretaker and I could have ease knowing my girls were in good hands !! Got updates as the day went on ! And she took the time to love and care for the girls !! 10/10”

“Very reliable and always punctual. Considerate of our routines and home. Gives me a peace of mind knowing my anxious girl has someone to lean on while we are gone. Appreciate that Marylin will communicate with me throughout her stay with my precious pup. She is just what my girl needs…..a calm, confident member of the pack”

“Valerie was great on her first visit. She was very attentive to my nervous pup who wasn’t nervous at all with her. My time away was so enjoyable because of her. Will be rebooking over and over. Thank you!”

About: I've loved dogs my whole life and have owned three of my own, giving me firsthand experience with their daily care, exercise, and companionship. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've looked after dogs and cats for family members, friends, and neighbors. I also have cared for two mini doodles for several weeks over the past few summers, along with the families pet lizard and guinea pig. Additionally, I regularly volunteer at a local animal shelter, where I walk and play with dogs of all sizes and help feed and socialize cats. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and am committed to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to check in on your pets throughout the day! I can also take your dogs out for walks, multiple times a day if needed. I will follow instructions you leave to make sure I am giving your pets everything they need. I have no problem taking dogs to dog parks or for long walks depending on their needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Starks on Rover is $54.91 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Starks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Starks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Starks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Starks. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
