“Alyssa watched our home and dog for 5 days. She did an excellent job with keeping our dog entertained, taking care of the home, and keeping us updated. She treated our dog as if it was her own and it showed as our dog - that gets anxiety when we’re away - looks like he was having a blast! Her updates were super comprehensive and frequent to allow us to enjoy our vacation knowing our home and dog was in the right hands. We’d book Alyssa again and definitely recommend booking if you’re looking!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life. Currently live with 2 dogs and 2 cats, and my family has 3 other dogs! I’ve dog-sat for many years, both staying at homes and frequently checking in. I have a natural way of connecting with animals, and I love spending time with them! During the summer, I will have availability to walk dogs, let dogs out, and care for pets during the day and evenings on weekdays. June weekdays I am available after 12, and July weekdays I am available all day. Weekend availability is not consistent throughout the summer. I live with two dogs and two cats. I walk the dogs frequently, feed them breakfast and dinner, and keep their spaces clean and safe! I monitor pets as they chew on toys, and throw away toys that could be dangerous. Managing 4 pets is a handful, but I love it!
“Jordyn was amazing! She was great at communicating and sent photos a few times a day. She didn’t mind answering the million questions I had prior to staying with my dog. I would definitely use her again.”

“Jessica is great with our senior dog! It is so comforting knowing we can leave our dog and home with someone who truly cares. I’m so glad we found Jessica and we will continue to utilize her anytime we need a pet sitter.”

“THANK YOU so much for taking such good care of Freya! We had Katelynn stay at our house for 5 days and we got so many updates about how Freya was doing. Will ABSOLUTELY continue to book Katelynn, especially since we have a major surgery coming up for Freya and there might be days where I cannot come home and check on her during work. Thanks again!”

About: I am the go to girl for ALL of my friends cats and dogs when they need help. I have a 2 year old dachshund who loves friends and lots of flexibility in my schedule to help out as I work remote. Also have 2 large dog parks at my apartment complex on ground level! Work fully remote, available anytime! I have weekends available as well just let me know what you and your let need and I’m there! My dog is crate trained as well to provide space for your dog as well if need be. I have 2 dog parks down stairs with a quiet neighborhood to go for walks in and plenty of room for your pet to play!
“Our experience with Samantha was overall amazing! The day before we were due to travel, one of our cats got very sick and our travel day was actually spent taking her to an emergency vet. We didn’t know when/if we would be traveling, but Samantha was super communicative and understanding through all of the uncertainty/changing plans. We ended up cancelling our trip, but we would love to work with Samantha again in the future. One of our cats is very skittish around new people, but she let Samantha pet her quite quickly so I was grateful to find someone Baby Grace was comfortable with.”

“Our first visit with Avery and it was Great! Avery seemed to bond with our Dog Harley almost immediately from first meet and greet. She was prompt with communication and photos . We will definitely will not hesitate to use her pet care again in the future.”

“Grace was excellent! She provided updates when needed and was very helpful and attentive to our requests and instructions. We came home to a happy, healthy puppy and a clean house. All we could ask for in a sitter! We will definitely be booking Grace again! Thanks, Grace!”

“Cannot say enough good things about Grace's house-sitting! She was kind and patient with my weird dog, kept me updated, and left my home in great condition. Have already booked her for another stay!!”

About: I am experienced in administering medicinal injections, nail trimming and teeth brushing of larger breeds, lifting 60+ lbs, pad and potty training, and assisting senior and special needs dogs. I currently work remote and spend most of the day with my own pup by my side. We go to the nearby dog park at least weekly, go on two 20-25 minute walks (1mi+) daily, and play regularly throughout the day. He is very friendly and happy to tag along for any walks or play times, if the company is welcomed. I have a large crate available, if needed, and an in ground stake in the front and back yard with 30ft leads attached, allowing for plenty of time outside in shaded and unshaded areas. Food bowls are cleaned after every meal and pet waste is cleaned up after every trip outside.
“Valerie did an amazing job with our three doggos. She was very easy to communicate with, sent us daily pics and we came home to a clean house and very happy pups! We would 100% use her services again and recommend anyone who is looking for a very caring individual who will treat your pets like her own!”
“Toby is super punctual, dependable, kind, and caring. Toby watched my 9 week old puppy twice, and he was very loving and patient. During the time he stayed at my house, he not only watched my puppy for several hours, but also played with him and fed him per my instructions. I highly recommend Toby to take care of any pets. Toby is a spectacular pet sitter and an amazing human being.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dundee Township
I had a wonderful experience with Jessica. She took amazing care of my three dogs and treated them like her own, which immediately put my mind at ease while I was away. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly very experienced with animals. I can tell my dogs really loved being with her. Beyond caring for the dogs, she also went above and beyond around the house, taking care of extra chores without being asked. Coming home to everything in great shape made such a difference and really showed how thoughtful and responsible she is. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable for their pets and home.

Karlie was great with all 3 of our dogs. This was the first time I have ever used a service to take care of my dogs. Karlie came to my house twice before our trip to get to know the dogs, etc. You could tell Karlie is a "dog person" since I could tell the dogs liked her. That really helped us enjoy our vacation so much more knowing that they were in good hands. Karlie responded to text messages quickly. Got updates on dogs and pix while I was on vacation. Now that I have gone through this process and found someone we like, we definitely will hire Karlie again.

Lauren was great! She was dependable, communicative and conscientious. We were gone for 6 days and she looked after our home and our little buddy. She sent us a cute pic or video almost everyday day which made me smile and feel secure that he was cared for and having fun. We would like to have her back next time! 😃

Lydia sat for my 2 dogs for 8 days while I was visiting family. The dogs did just fine and seemed happy when I came home. The deal was to stay in my house where they felt safe and at home. They stayed at her house instead, not what I had planned. But they were safe and taken care of and that is what matters. I received a few photos and minimal communication. It is hard to leave our loved ones at home, but everything turned out fine.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dundee Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dundee Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dundee Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
