“We highly recommend Meghan, as she was great! She communicated well and sent pictures everyday. She would spend time and play with our two cats. She even cleaned up a mess they had made. Definitely will be rebooking in the future.”

“Sierra was a wonderful dog walker. She was patience with us about a small problem (door trouble). My dog was so happy to walk with her and loved her attention!”

“Awesome and very accommodating! Reliable and friendly! I contacted her about caring after my cat when I got out of town weekly and it was no issue and she was able to care for them immediately! Definitely recommend!”

“Nicholas provided excellent care for my cats during a weekend away. He followed all instructions, spent time getting to know them, and his calm demeanor put me at ease. I’d happily recommend Nicholas for reliable, thoughtful pet care.”

“Fantastic pet care! I'm so glad to have a care provider in the neighborhood who can pop in on my fur babies throughout the days I'm on a trip. Highly recommend Colin for all your drop-in needs; they are really great with animals and communicate well about care.”

“Fallon did an excellent job taking care of our kitties and our kitties had a great time with her! She was also kind enough to clean up after their messes (which was much appreciated because they are messy cats)! Another great experience. Will book again.”

“Jay was absolutely fantastic with our girl. I could tell from the photos that Lollie was having so much fun with him. His kind demeanor and his professionalism put him a notch above the rest. Suffice it to say, we love Jay!”

“Jackie is a great pet sitter! My cat Puff who fears everyone trusts Jackie - that means a lot to me. She took time to interact with them every day which I know they appreciated. I highly recommend Jackie!”

“Zoe is the best Rover sitter my cat has had! She checked on Zosma for a few days, and went above and beyond. From arriving on time every day to giving her meds. Zosma was really happy to the point she literally was hugging Zoe, which she only does to a very few people. Zoe truly cared for Zosma! One day, there was an inconvenience with my apartment key and she was very acommodating, making sure she was taken care of. I will definitely be booking her again and recommend you to!”

About: I've always had at least one dog around growing up. We currently have a 7 lb chipoo mix who we absolutely adore and we'd love to get her a sibling but we just aren't ready for another dog full time so we'll care for yours while you're away. Send your pups on over for lots of playtime, cuddling, and belly runs. I have experience with younger dogs as well as seniors. I work hard to keep a routine and keep your dog on their regular schedule when possible. I know it's difficult to leave your dog in the hands of someone else but I strive to provide a safe and fun environment that'll leave you and your baby satisfied with the care you received. We'd love to meet your dog(s). Thank you.
“Amazing care taker! First trip we were gone for 5 days, and doggies were not happy that we left them. First visit they were unsure of Leah, by the 2nd vist( 2hours later) they loved her!!! Lots of updates, pics and doggies played and snugged with her. Loved the updates and very happy doggies were happy!!”

About: Hello! My name is Erin and as a pre-veterinary student, I am currently working as a veterinary assistant at a clinic to further expand my knowledge in veterinary medicine and animal care. I am currently available anytime on Mondays, Wednesdays, and weekends. If you are looking for late afternoon or evening visits, I am also available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays after 6 PM. For my clients, I ensure thorough communication about how their fur babies are doing by providing updates throughout the day with cute pictures! I prioritize creating a comfortable environment for both their pets and them by establishing a safe and trustworthy setting.
About: Animals are my passion. I’ve spent many years caring for and loving on other’s animals as if they were my own. I will absolutely be having Brandon watch Mazie again! He was so attentive, played with her, and she snuggled with him. It made me happy to see Mazie to getting so comfortable so fast. My place and litter boxes were left in pristine conditions. Brandon is a 100/10 sitter

Amazing!!! Jackie took amazing care of my deaf boxer and gave him some much needed training! I also left my little anxious puppy home for the first time and she made sure she was safe and happy the whole time! We had a lot of things going on at our house while she was there, construction workers coming in and out, our heat was broken, etc. I was very nervous but Jackie handled it with ease and was great about communicating everything! Will 100% be booking with her whenever I am out of town. Thank you so much!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
