“Nicholas was awesome. He was able to look after Napoleon even with last minute plans. He arrived on time as promised, and followed directions. I would definitely use his services again.”

“Leah was absolutely fantastic with our very reactive rescue pup, Boots. We did an introductory session and Boots was more comfortable with her than anyone else he's met. She was a real pro in terms of how she approached him and has fantastic knowledge about dogs, and is experienced with nervous dogs. Looking forward to Leah becoming our regular pet sitter :)”

“Sierra is warm, kind and dependable. She took great care of my babies while I was away. She was very consistent with sending photos and detailed updates. I will definitely be reaching out the next time I am out of town.”

“Jessica did a great job with my cat buddies. Lots of good communication and check in pictures. Thank you for making me have no worries about them while I was away. I will be happy to have her help me again in the future.”

About: I’ve had pets basically my entire life, growing up we had a beautiful blue nose pit and then a jet black lab both of whom we lost while I was going to college. Since then I began working with animals professionally in a 5 star puppy boarding facility in midtown. I’ve learned a lot through the experience because we care for up to 100 animals a day see them through daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, and training. I currently have no pets of my own but I love to fill my home with a new loving puppy face whenever possible. I often dog sit for family and friends, and animal care is like second nature to me. I’ve never met a puppy I couldn’t make a pal out of. I’m availed pretty much 24/7, my job provides plenty of flexibility where pet care is concerned. Any baby staying with me would have full access to our facilities if needed/wanted, and my home was designed with animal care in mind so I have plenty of space and time for most overnight boarding situations. I have a fully fenced in yard as well as dedicated indoor and outdoor puppy area, the indoor space is a previously unused bedroom which has been vamped up to provide an ideal care space for your fur baby’s and our large suburban yard would give even the most energetic of pips plenty of space to roam and run around.

“Khalil and Vania were responsive to my request for service. They were professional in all correspondence. The meet and greet went well and I decided to book them to provide drop-in cat sitting for my 3-year-old Calico cat. I received photos and videos throughout my trip away. About: Hi, I’m Basia! I’ve been caring for animals since I was 12 years old, with experience ranging from all breeds and sizes of adorable dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, administering medication, daily walks, and even basic training to help reinforce good habits. I share my home with two rescued cats—both spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and always curious about new animal friends. Over the years, I’ve cared for neighbors’ dogs, walked friends’ pets, and provided a safe, loving environment for animals of all kinds. When you’re away, I’ll make sure your pets feel happy, comfortable, and well-cared for—just like they were my own. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection. If needed, I can administer medication and handle basic training or reinforcement. I also keep their space tidy—cleaning food bowls, litter boxes, and any messes. Most importantly, I spend quality time with them so they don’t feel lonely while you’re away, and I send regular updates and photos so you know they’re happy and well-cared for.
“Deiondre was great!!! My dogs are older, and one of them requires a little more care than the average. Deiondre was happy to come over before the requested dates so that I could introduce him to the dogs. He provided pictures and lots of communication, which was exactly what I needed to be assured the dogs were okay. They are my babies, and I can be overprotective of their happiness. Deiondre put me at ease. I will definitely use him again, and I highly recommend you use him too.”

“Awesome and very accommodating! Reliable and friendly! I contacted her about caring after my cat when I got out of town weekly and it was no issue and she was able to care for them immediately! Definitely recommend!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
