“Sierra is warm, kind and dependable. She took great care of my babies while I was away. She was very consistent with sending photos and detailed updates. I will definitely be reaching out the next time I am out of town.”

“Rebecca is great with animals. She shows up professionally and with genuine care for her work. If you're in need of pet care, particularly if you have larger dogs, Rebecca will not disappoint. She went above and beyond. Thank you, Rebecca.”

“Nicholas was awesome. He was able to look after Napoleon even with last minute plans. He arrived on time as promised, and followed directions. I would definitely use his services again.”

“Leah was absolutely fantastic with our very reactive rescue pup, Boots. We did an introductory session and Boots was more comfortable with her than anyone else he's met. She was a real pro in terms of how she approached him and has fantastic knowledge about dogs, and is experienced with nervous dogs. Looking forward to Leah becoming our regular pet sitter :)”

I have a fenced in yard and my 3 dogs play well with others,I also have 2 cats but they stay in one part of the house and usually let the digs do thsir own thing.

About: I’ve grown up around big dogs my whole life. I have both house sat for cats and dogs before. Small and large. I make the animals are well fed, cleaned up after. I have had to aid in medical care on a dog before. I have a fairly flexible schedule. I want to make sure the pets are well visited. Even if it just means sitting with them it is important they don’t feel alone. Rather than constat play and activity I would gladly sit around with the pets to make them feel more comfortable . Whether the yard is fenced in or not I want to always make sure the pet is within my view. While getting to learn the pet I want to be able to watch how they act. If something were to go bad it’s important that I’m able to pinpoint what has happened because I was watching them.
“Morgan was awesome! It was obvious from first meeting that she has a special connection with cats. She was very responsive and we loved getting the daily updates with photos.”

“Fallons drops in we’re excellent. She made sure that our cats were taken care of, even though they didn’t show themselves. She was able to troubleshoot our Litter Robot, so that was amazing, and she took care of other things that weren’t required but very much appreciated.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
