“First time booking with Jay and everything was amazing from the meet and greet to all the photos he sent. I had an unexpected change in scheduling and Jay was able to drop in on my dogs at the last minute and saved the day! He’s so friendly, extremely responsive and the dogs are happy!”

“We highly recommend Meghan, as she was great! She communicated well and sent pictures everyday. She would spend time and play with our two cats. She even cleaned up a mess they had made. Definitely will be rebooking in the future.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Elizabeth. She came prepared to our meet and greet with a through list of questions about my cat and our home. She was a great communicator and kept me up to date on what was going on with my cat and sent pictures every day. She even brought in my mail, watered my plants, and took out the trash before she left on her last visit. It’s obvious that my cat loved his time with her. I won’t hesitate to use her services again!”

About: I was a cat sitter when I was younger and when I lived out on my own I adopted a kitten who I absolutely loved and created a special bond with. Some cats need extra time and space when getting to know someone new. I am very respectful and understanding of this. I have dog sat for many family members and friends over the years and well as had a dog in a four year partnership. I had three cats and a dog which I cared for on a regular basis. I walked our dog daily and made sure she got the right amount of play according to her weight, breed, and needs. Each animal is unique and requires different types of care. I am eager to get to know your pet’s personality and meet their needs the best I can. I walk every day. I would love to give a not only needed exercise but to feel some joy while sniffing around and seeing the sights of the neighborhood. As far as pet sitting, my job is very flexible as I work a few hours weekend mornings and a few hours two evenings out of the week. I currently have no pets of my own to care for, so I have a lot of free time to dedicate to other’s pets. I want clients to feel safe with me caring for their pet and having access to their home. Respecting guidelines on pet and home care is one of my top priorities.
“First time using Rover and I am so happy. The local pet sitting company in the area has NOTHING on Sarah and Rover. Sarah took great care of my three cats including an elderly cat that has to be given medicine and has bowel issues. I loved seeing the photos each day and the cats seemed to look forward to her visits. Highly recommend Sarah and will definitely use her services in the future.”

“Elena was awesome for drop-ins for my kitty! I really looked forward to her detailed drop-in updates. She was very courteous and was able to to work with my schedule. My kitty seemed to really like her! I will definitely be booking Elena next time I go out of town ?”

“Jennifer saved the day when our regular dog walker went on vacation. She met with us first to better understand Ali's history. We appreciated that greatly, plus her follow through after each visit was helpful. She also helped us care for our kitty, Whisker, while we were away during the same period. All our pets were content and happy when we returned home. We would highly recommend Jennifer.”
About: I’ve had my pitty for roughly two years and have had to deal with training, medicinal application, behavioral management and hardcore cuddling. I also have experience dealing with smaller dogs as well and tailoring my care to suit their needs as well. I work in the food service industry so my schedule can be a bit sporadic but I have taken care of my dog for two years without incident and it’s been great! I can be as flexible as you need me to be. Frequent walks and playtime. Your buddy will get the attention they deserve! I currently do not offer services in my home because my dog does not get along with intact dogs and my apartment is small.

“This was our first time using Rover and Faith was very helpful navigating how to set up the visit. She was very communicative, especially with the storms that were going on in our area. Our kitties were well taken care of and enjoyed their visit. Thanks Faith!”

“Ryan is great with our dog Wylder. He drops in over the weekend and takes him for walks/potty breaks. He sends photos of him playing and info on what they did. Wylder definitely seems happier and calmer since Ryan has been dropping in.”

“Stacy is taking great care of my cat Ziggy when I've been out of town. She's even adjusted visits when my schedule is changed. I recommend booking Stacy as your pet sitter.”

Kelsey was great with our skittish kitty Cleocatra. She was available within a week of our departure date and made friends to the point of getting actual petting! We got pics and texts at every visit, which helped with missing our kitty. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for future visits, recommended!

Faith did an amazing job taking care of our cats while we were out of town!! They both really liked her during the meet and greet but our scaredy cat was super shy each time she came to visit, hanging out in his favorite spot under/behind the couch. Faith still figured out a way to get his pills to him to take even with him being so shy. I could tell our other cat really enjoyed Faith’s visits and attention and looked super happy and cozy in all the pics.

Reese was great! He took care of both of my bunnies and did an amazing job, and if you’re a bunny parent you know how fragile they can be and how nerve wracking it can be to leave them alone! He seemed to bond with them quickly and I always felt they were in great hands.

I will absolutely be having Brandon watch Mazie again! He was so attentive, played with her, and she snuggled with him. It made me happy to see Mazie to getting so comfortable so fast. My place and litter boxes were left in pristine conditions. Brandon is a 100/10 sitter

I hate to brag on her because that books her calendar and makes reservations tight. However, there is no way to say anything contradictory. Sarah has become part of our family. I totally trust her with my fur babies. I think my cat loves her more than me sometimes. And she is very attentive to any changes. Like this visit she knew something was up when my dog didn’t eat the last day. She notified me and made an extra visit to come to check her condition. She is proactive when anything is abnormal. Not only does she notify me but offers suggestion on what to do. My babies are seniors like me now and she adjust their activity as needed. I could write a book on how wonderful, loving & caring Sarah has and continues to be. I am so glad Sarah came into our lives. My fur babies say 5 stars are not enough. They see her as a special Aunt that has always been there for them, loves on them and makes them happy. Oh the eating problem turned out that my dog was missing me. Since I retired we are together all the time. Once I brought my suitcase inside she ate all her food. Nice to know that my dog loves me that much and not just Sarah ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clarkston. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
