“Donna did awesome job taking care of our puppy Penny. She is very punctual and experienced in taking care of puppy. We are rebooking for the future dates. Thank you Donna!”

“Junping was a wonderful house/dog-sitter. She was incredibly attentive and communicative. She always made sure Winston was taken care of and sent a ton of pictures to us! If she ever had a question, she would reach out and kept the house in immaculate shape. Would absolutely have her care for Winston again!!”

“Will continues to be a life saver for us!! Not only does he take amazing care of our pups, but our home and other animals, too. He was so considerate to take our bunny to the vet while we were gone when he realized something was wrong with her and didn’t hesitate to do so. He’s got the best communication, sends lots of pictures, and loves on our fur babies when we can’t. I wouldn’t want anyone else looking after them when we are gone. Just please don’t steal him from us. 🤣”

“Robert did an excellent job! He watched our three dogs in our apartment over the weekend. The puppy seemed a bit nervous at first, but clearly warmed up to him over the course of his stay. He communicated often and sent photos and videos of the pups as well. Thank you for taking such good care of them!”

“Stella is great! She stayed with my dog, Mia for 6 days and took great care of her. In addition to providing updates, Stella also helped clean around the house. I will absolutely be reaching out for future stays.”

“We cannot give higher praise for Amyra and James. They put our minds at ease and were such amazing help! Our puppies loved them and we really appreciate everything they did. We trust them completely and are no longer worried about leaving our pups knowing they’d be in the best hands!”

“We are always anxious about leaving our spoiled kitties and have often passed up travel opportunities But now we have met Erika!! She did an excellent job housesitting and providing safe companionship for our fluffy babies. They both took to her immediately (this is not usually the case!). Thanks to Erika for a great weekend!!”

“Kiryl was excellent! Very responsive on time and took great care of my Matteo! Highly recommend Kiryl pet care and staying with your fur babies! Will definitely have him stay with my boy again! Many Thanks”

“Joshua was wonderful with our pets. You can definitely tell how experienced he is with my not-so-easy pup. I can totally tell how he has so many 5-star reviews. He sends great update videos, so I never had to wonder once how my furry friends were doing. Highly recommend you hire him!”
“We hired Jasmine to house/pet sit while we were out of town. She took excellent care of our dogs and cat. She is very reliable and attentive, providing consistent communication with photos and video updates. She even went above and beyond by sweeping our floors! Our dogs are very high energy and Jasmine provided them with more than enough playtime. She clearly loves animals! Our dogs were well cared for and happy they got to have her very cute dogs as playmates! I feel she is someone we can trust with our animals and we already hired her for our next vacation. Thank you so much, Jasmine!!”

“Regi did a wonderful job sitting with our fur babies who get separation anxiety. Very professional and prompt. We especially appreciated the photo updates throughout the day. Would highly recommend Regi.”

About: I am the biggest animal lover at heart. I truly believe that pets are family, and they deserve the same love, patience, and attention as any human. I've always had a deep connection with animals of all kinds, and spending time with them brings me so much joy. I have professional experience working at a dog daycare, where I was responsible for supervising playgroups, feeding, administering medications when needed, cleaning, and making sure every dog was happy, safe, and well cared for. I've worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels, from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs. I'm comfortable with high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and everything in between. Safety, trust, and keeping pets happy are always my top priorities. My journey on Rover is trying to work for myself and my furry friends because I love the freedom of constructing my own hours and creating a schedule that works for both me and the pets I care for. To me, taking care of animals is not a job - it is a privilege. I don't take that lightly. Every pet in my care will be treated like my own, with endless love, attention, and respect. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, overnight care, or just someone to keep them company while you're away, I will be there to make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I love being able to create my own hours and work around each pet’s individual routine and needs. I’m available for overnight stays, boarding, walks, drop-ins, and extended daytime care. I’m happy to communicate with you beforehand to make sure your pet’s normal schedule is followed as closely as possible while you’re away. Safety, trust & environment Your pet’s happiness, safety, and comfort are my absolute top priorities! 🐾 I provide care exclusively in the client’s home, which means your pet gets to stay in the place they know and love while keeping their normal routine. I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, playtime, walks, and cuddles while you’re away. I’m also very respectful of your home and will treat it with the same care I give your pets. I’ll follow all of your instructions closely and send you plenty of updates and cute pictures, so you can relax knowing your fur baby is happy, loved, and in great hands! ❤️🐶
“This is the 2nd time I have used Kristen and I’m so happy that I found here. My pups are my babies and I hate leaving them but she made me feel okay about leaving them. She sent me check in photos daily and made sure to follow our schedule. Thank you Kristen ❤️”

“There aren’t enough words to describe how great our experience with Fabienne was. She watched our dog, Louie, for 6 nights over the Christmas holiday. The peace of mind we felt, knowing our dog was being well cared for, was invaluable! From the very beginning, Fabienne was excellent at communicating with us and always responded promptly. She came early on our departure day to ensure a smooth transition. We received daily updates and photos. Honestly, I’m going to miss talking to Fabienne daily! We will absolutely be hiring her for future dog sitting. So grateful to have found such a caring and trusted dog sitter! Fabienne is incredible!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs of all ages my whole life, and have extensive experience in plenty of different scenarios. I helped train my dog when she was a puppy, I’m responsible for bathing her, feeding her, picking up her poop, walking her, and more - all the responsibilities of owning a pet. I am also the go-to dog sitter for my friends, family, and colleagues, as I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and do a great job at it. I have experience dog sitting for senior dogs, dogs with special accommodations, dogs who need medication, puppies, hyperactive dogs, standoffish dogs, pretty much every dog under the sun. I have no problems with any situation and can handle anything thrown my way! I have a very flexible part-time job where I can pick my hours, so pet care fits anywhere into my weekly routine where I may choose it. I tend to go above and beyond when pet sitting in the sense that I spend most of my time with the animals, so complete attention and pet care won’t be a problem. I could only care for pets in the client’s home, as my own dog stays at my house and is a solo act, but in a client’s home I would care for pets as if they were my own. I would expect to have access to resources I’d need to properly care for the pets, but I could also bring anything of my own if needed. I am determined to create and maintain a comfortable, safe, and loving environment for any pets that I’d be lucky enough to watch over.
“Nadia was the best! She drove our pooch down to the vet hospital and picked her up after surgery. She made sure to come over the night before, though it wasn’t part of the contract, to make sure she knew where she was going and to meet our pooch. I’d use her anytime.”
“Julia was absolutely amazing for our trip! She provided excellent care for our pup , provided regular updates and pictures, and made sure our home was also looked after during our trip. She was always super responsive and kept me informed about any updates or questions. I looked forward to getting each of her pictures and updates. Not only did she take such good care of our pup but she also took excellent care of our home. Everything was clean and tidy Upon Our return. She even washed her sheets and towels and even remade the bed! She also wrote us a sweet note and d an awesome pic of our pup! I am super impressed by everything that Julia did and we will absolutely be requesting her for all of our future pet sitting needs! I cannot thank you enough Julia.”

About: Hi, My name is Lita, I’m new on rover but well experienced in the dog world. I currently own a very special boy Doberman pincher. His name is Griffin and he is 6 1/2 years old. I’ve had him since the age of one. He is a rescue that survived a gunshot went to a shelter then to a foster who couldn’t handle him and back to the shelter. Then to his final destination which was ME! Nowadays, Griffin is thriving, and is known to be the best behaved and well trained dog in the neighborhood, as well as the most loved at the vet. I’ve spent a tremendous amount of time and effort, making sure that Griffin will live up to his potential And become the best possible dog. I also take care of Eros, a European champion line, German Shepherd, who weighs as much as I do if not more. After nearly 5 years of taking care of him, he and his family are like my own. I’ve been around dogs and learned proper care and handling since childhood, as my family used to breed Airedale Terriers and French bulldogs. I live a bi- coastal life (part Southern California part south Florida) which means that if you see my availability open on here, my schedule would be wide open to take care of your dog/s, and I won’t be leaving for extended periods of time to work. I’m happy to take them with me anywhere like parks, hikes, the beach, car rides etc. And will be providing them with all the enrichment and exercise they want and or need :) looking forward to working with you! I have a fitness business in south Florida that I return to but When I’m in California, my schedule is nearly wide open and this dog sitting will take priority. I would be with them as much as needed and can take them with me places. I provide very knowledgeable handling, care, and attention. Dogs THRIVE on structure and I am the best at it. I’m extremely disciplined with my dog, and can follow any routine with yours too.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 6,725 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Silverado. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Silverado walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Silverado maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Silverado choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Silverado. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
