Rachel was great with my senior dog who needed a walk while I was gone for an extended time. She was very flexible on feeding him and took him on a nice long walk. Overall she was great!

Erika went above and beyond from day one. I had just rescued a very nervous dog and contacted her in panic — she responded immediately and came the same day to help. She took the time to sit with my dog multiple times so he could get comfortable, and her patience, warmth, and communication have been amazing. I’ve now hired her permanently and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker.

He proactively asked to meet before the walk to meet my dog Lucy and I, and to see where things in the house would be kept such as the leash, dog bags, etc. He wrote personalized summaries of their walks, filled the water bowl and left the light on as asked. Excellent dog walker with a lot of dog experience pre-dating Rover.

About: I've taken care of my friends' dogs for years and adopted my own puppy 3 years ago! I've learned a lot about dog training the past few years, including loose leash walking, clicker training, working on reactivity, recall training, and getting through the puppy and teenage phase! I am familiar with positive reinforcement training and balanced training and can help keep up any training you have been working on with your dog while I take care of them! I'm familiar with various collars - regular, prong, slip, gentle leaders, and harnesses. I'm currently taking a work hiatus from being a pharmacist! So I have flexible scheduling during the day & evenings to help take care of your pup! I'm typically at the ceramics studio on Fridays, but if you let me know 2 weeks in advance of the Friday you need me, I can make arrangements. I am here to help your pets feel as safe and happy as they can while you're away. Just let me know their normal routine (no matter how detailed) and I'm happy to keep it the same for them! I can help administer medications if needed, and can put together multi-step meals with toppers as well!

About: I am retired as of a few years ago, and we just lost our Bailey girl at 14 years old a few years back. I haven’t adopted a new dog since and instead am taking care of our kids dogs when they go out of town but do miss having a dog around. I’ve cared for about 6 dogs over my lifetime, and would love to care for your pup too. We have a huge yard that is fenced in for them to go out and play and a large neighborhood great for walks. A few of the dogs I have taken care, love to run in our backyard because there is room for them to run. Since I’m retired I have plenty of free time to take care of and play with pups. I love dogs and enjoy interacting with them. I want them to be happy and safe. I have a large, fully fenced in backyard and a separate fenced in side yard both of which can be closed and keep the dog inside. I also welcome any crates if a dog feels more comfortable in a crate at night. If a dog is well behaved at night, they could also bring a bed and sleep next to our bed.

About: I’ve had pets since I was five years old, so caring for animals has always been part of my life. I currently have one friendly dog and two cats, and I’m very familiar with daily care, routines, and understanding different pet personalities. I truly enjoy caring for pets and making sure they feel safe and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m home often and already spend my day feeding, walking, playing, and spending quality time with my own pets. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and affection. My young daughter also loves dogs and is gentle and respectful around them. I am available on weekdays and weekends. My home is calm, clean, and pet-friendly with a secure fenced yard for safe outdoor play and potty breaks. My dog is friendly and well-socialized with other dogs, and I always introduce pets slowly and carefully. I closely follow feeding instructions, routines, and any special care needs. I understand pets are family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own.

About: Hi, I’m Alexis! 🐾 I’ve been caring for animals since I was 5 years old, always having had dogs of my own. Over the years, I turned my passion into a career—working as a Veterinary Assistant, Animal Care Technician, and in pet boarding/daycare. Whether it’s walks, playtime, snuggles, or special care for pets with medical needs, I treat every furry friend like family. Your pets will be safe, loved, and happy while you’re away! I’m flexible and can often accommodate last-minute bookings, weekends, and holidays. Whether you need morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’m happy to work around your schedule to make sure your pets are cared for when you need it most. When caring for pets in their own home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and comfort. I make sure your pets stay on their normal routine for feeding, walks, and playtime so they feel secure while you’re away. I always double-check that doors, gates, and crates are secure, and I’m mindful of any special instructions you provide. I treat your home with the same respect as I do my own—cleaning up after pets, keeping their areas tidy, and leaving things just as I found them. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind, knowing your pets are loved, safe, and happy in the comfort of their familiar environment.

About: I have had pets, all of my life, from guinea pigs to cats, and dogs. I have a true passion for animals and love all of them like they're my own. Since I was a child I have truly had a love for animals and thoroughly enjoy taking care of them. I will treat your furry friend like part of the family, not just the family pet. I will love your pet and treat him/her with a tremendous amount of care. I will take him for long walks, or go to the park. I understand how difficult it can be to find someone you can trust to give your pet the care that he needs, and I can assure you, he will get plenty of TLC! I am available all day on weekends and weekday evenings.

About: Hi there! I bring years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and needs, including my own husky and several senior dogs requiring medical support and veterinary visits. Pet care isn't just about completing a checklist to me. It's about knowing the animal. Some dogs want to run until they're worn out. Some want to stay close to you. Some need medication at a very specific time. I try to understand those differences before I ever begin caring for a pet. Throughout my life I've owned and loved five dogs. I understand the importance of treating every pet like family and providing care that matches their normal routine. Beyond pet care, I've also been trusted to look after luxury homes throughout Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Ladera Ranch, Irvine, and Newport. For over four years I managed weekly household needs while coordinating with maids, landscapers, pool services, and other vendors. Whether it's keeping up with energetic dogs, providing extra care for senior pets, or making sure your home remains secure while you're away, you can count on me to handle everything with reliability and professionalism. I’m available most days and love spending my time with pets. My own husky enjoys running 1-2 times a day, so staying active is already part of my routine. At home, I also care for two cats, so I’m comfortable balancing different personalities and needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own. Over the years, I’ve learned how to build trust quickly—even the shyest cats seem to warm up to me. I provide a safe, caring, and consistent environment where pets feel secure and loved.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
