“Another great visit/weekend from Joyce! Rosebud and Grayson are happy to have Joyce here caring for them. Pets, food, fun on the deck! We definitely appreciate Joyce’s care and commitment.”

“Jennifer took care of my special needs cat and my 3 other cats. She was there morning and night and gave medicine to the diabetic cat I have. I shall be using her again in the near future.”

About: I've been caring for dogs and cats since I was 7 years old. While I have no formal training, I've owned pets consistently for the last 35 years. I've done a lot of work with rescues and shelters, particularly with special needs animals. I'm equipped to give medication of all types, even IVs and injections. I'm currently fostering two silly bulldogs and am volunteering my time with multiple local rescues. I have a knack for animals... You might even call it a superpower! I'll likely become best friends with your pet as soon as I meet them; I'll take the extra time to establish trust with you and your furry friend, so you both know you are in good hands with me. Whether it be just a quick walk or a homestay, your pet will be the center of my attention and will always be in good hands! Every booking comes with lots of pictures and a full recap of our time together. While I'm typically not available early in the morning, my schedule is otherwise pretty flexible. I'm available for drop ins and over nights. Unfortunately due to an FIV+ cat I am unable to host your pet here. I will schedule a meet and greet prior to our first booking to meet you and your pet at your home. I like to schedule this for up to one our in order to make sure we take the time we need to establish trust. Many of my pets over the years have been special needs, including English Bulldogs and FIV+ cats.
“We hired Shelli to check in on our cat 2-3x a day for a week we were away. We looked forward to every one of her reports! She was thorough, sent lots of photos, and even asked if we needed anything else around the house checked on. We’re so happy we found Shelli!”

“Alycia was a great cat sitter and very easy to correspond with. She sent pictures and helped with a last minute plant watering request as well. I was very comfortable having her come to my apartment and would recommend to anyone!”

“This is the second time Raymond has petsat my two fur babies—a 46 lb goldendoodle and a 5 lb poodle—and once again, he was absolutely amazing. The first time I was gone for a full week, and when I came home, my dogs were so happy and content I honestly don’t think they even missed me! He walked them regularly, spoiled them with attention, and they were in heaven the entire time. On top of taking such incredible care of my pups, Raymond went above and beyond with my home as well. I returned to a clean, fresh-smelling house—no mess anywhere. He even took care of little things like tidying up and taking out the trash without me ever asking. Zero complaints, just two extremely happy pups who absolutely adore him. I couldn’t recommend Raymond more! The second time was yesterday and he again walked them twice, a total last min. Request and he made it happen! I'm super happy that I found Raymind and booked him! I will continue to use him from now on! I highly recommend him!”

“Lauren took care of Dakota by dropping in 3 times a day for an hour each time. I cannot recommend her enough. Dakota easily bonded with her and seemed to just know she was a good human! Lauren arrived promptly and sent me pictures throughout the day. Texting me with updates as requested. She’s awesome! I will definitely be booking her again in the future! :)”

“Christian is an excellent Rover! She has watched our cat twice now and he has had a great experience both times. We greatly appreciate the number of pictures and detailed reviews she provides us and highly recommend her to other.”

About: Salutations! My name is Ali, and I’m usually the person at parties seeking out the pets rather than socializing with everyone else. Mahima did a great job taking care of my cat and making her feel very loved and comfortable during the time I was away. She show's a genuine compassion for animals, and I could understand from the updates she sent me about my cat's care, that my cat was happy. She also helped me out with an issue I was having with an electrical device in my home. I will definitely hire Mahima again and would recommend her to any pet owner. Thanks, Mahima!

Bethany did a great job looking after my cat and making her feel comfortable with her. I will definitely hire Bethany's pet sitting services again and recommend her to any pet owner. Thank you, Bethany!

Miranda, came to watch my two kitties, Ollie & Finn. She spent a lot of time interacting with them, ensuring they were well fed and watered, and cuddling with them. It was amazing to have someone reliable to check in and spend time in one's space. Miranda was also very communicative about anything that came up, which was great. Would highly recommend!

Daizy was amazing with my girls! My cats are very snuggly and like a lot of attention and her photos with them gave me peace of mind while away. One of my babies can be aggressive with her love and reading how she has spicy cat experience was a relief. Knowing that they had a friendly person to check on them and hang out with them was exactly what I needed in a sitter. Thank you so much and I will be booking again the next time I travel!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Signal Hill. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
