“Max was AMAZING with my dog Blue. He was reliable & very trustworthy. He took my dog on a nice long walk and even played ball with him until he was tuckered out. Such peace of mind while I had long days at work. We will definitely be reaching out again for longer work days. Thank you, max!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats all my life and finally got my own pup in 2023. I love all breeds, sizes and ages and cater my care specific to every dog’s needs. I am very patient and keep up with guidelines and research to ensure I’m doing my best as a dog mom and carer of animals in a daily basis. I’m currently unemployed and have flexibility every day. I love getting my steps in, so I am more than happy to take your pup on long walks and will happily provide drop in visits. I am a trustworthy person who treats every being and environment like her own. I am well versed on dog’s body language and barks/growls and will ensure their safety and comfort. I love dogs of all sizes and am able to handle big dogs on walks as my boy is 80lbs.
“Carrianne was able to help us with a last minute walk for our dog. She took the time to stop by the day before to meet him. We appreciated the help and would book her again if the chance comes up!”

“Prior to using Rover, I was very apprehensive to have a stranger care for my dogs. Mostly because my dogs are very anxious, and apprehensive with new people. They are a handful. Jamie does so well with the both of them, they don't bark when she comes to get them, which is significant. She walks them for me regularly, and has house sat for me as well. She is very flexible with her schedule and does what she can to work with you, and help you out. She provides plenty of feedback and pictures so you know your dog children are in good hands! 10/10 would recommend!”
“Travis is amazing with our two dogs! We feel lucky to have found him. He welcomes and follows our detailed dog care instructions. The dogs always seem happy and tired after spending time with him.”

“Jessica took the best care of Max! Her communication was impeccable and you could see the quality in her care she provided for our dog. We could tell Max looked forward to his walks with her. We would highly recommend her care with anyone’s pet!”

“Met with Maggie for a meet and greet and a walk. Maggie was very responsive and prompt. She was communicative in the app, providing pictures and updates on their potty breaks as well. I’m looking forward to working with her again.”

About: I love animals, and I have been around and taken care of them since childhood, particularly dogs and cats. After moving to Chicago in 2017, I started walking and occasionally dog sitting for my friends’ companions. However, since living in the Shorewood area, I have worked with a variety of different dog (and cat) breeds and ages, including assisting with puppy training and senior care/mobility. I understand that each animal companion is unique with their own personality and temperament and that should be a major factor in providing appropriate care for them. Therefore, I strive to incorporate this mindset into each care opportunity I receive. I am currently seeking full-time employment so I have plenty of time to walk and play with your companions during the week! I am available for dog walking and drop-in visits Monday through Sunday. Your companions’ safety and health is of the utmost importance. With dog walking, I will inquire about any preferred walking places/parks, discuss beforehand any recommended locations, and follow the agreed-upon routes. In addition, I will ensure your companion is hydrated, monitor their environment for safety concerns, and properly dispose of waste products. Regarding drop-in visits, I recognize the level of trust it takes to allow a new person into one’s home. Thus, prior to the first visit, I will always ask about comfort level in terms of gaining entry into the home and areas to access or avoid. In addition, I aim to familiarize myself with your companion’s routine, such as learning their feeding times (and making sure their water bowls are always full), preferred playtime activities and toys, and any special needs. I value good communication and frequently provide updates on their well-being and promptly address any concerns/behavioral observations. If a dog is anxious upon first meeting me, I ensure they have time to get to know me instead of jumping right into an activity, which includes being patient and slowly offering my hand for sniffing, speaking in a calm tone of voice, and not forcibly entering their space before they are ready.

About: For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about caring for animals. Whether it’s dog-sitting my neighbors’ dogs, volunteering at the Humane Society, or spoiling my own pup, Lula, I’ve always found so much joy in spending time with animals. As a nurse, caring for others is a big part of who I am, and I’d love to bring that same compassion, patience, and attention to your pets. I’m excited to spend my free time doing something I genuinely love—making sure your furry family members feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! I’m currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and availability to care for your pet! I’m available on both weekdays and weekends and am happy to work around your pet’s schedule. I understand how important routine is for pets, so I’ll do my best to keep their usual feeding, walking, playtime, and rest schedule consistent while you’re away. I take the safety and security of your pets very seriously. I would love to meet them and then learn their routine, personality, and individual needs so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’m happy to follow their usual schedule for meals, walks, playtime, medications, and rest. I also love giving plenty of attention, cuddles, and playtime when they’re comfortable with it. Most importantly, I want your pet to feel safe, happy, and loved in their own home

“I needed a walker yesterday because I couldn’t be physically away from my home, so I was there when Andrew arrived. He texted when he was on his way, arrived promptly, and spent a couple of extra minutes greeting Rosie, on her level, letting her check him out and get comfortable with him - I was pleased. When they were out walking, a friend happened to see them and called me to tell me that she was impressed with how patient and gentle he was with her. He obviously made a positive impression on Rosie because she was very excited when he returned in the afternoon for her 2nd walk. I will definitely use Andrew for my future needs.”

About: From family pets, growing up on a farm, pet sitting in college, to multiple years taking care of animal ambassadors as a naturalist, I've been working with and caring for critters of all sorts for nearly as long as I can remember! For critters in the pet category, I have been caring for indoor cats since 2018, from kittens to seniors and every stage in between, including administering medications. My family has had medium/large dogs (rottweilers, labs, and border collie and boxer mixes) my whole life but I have also pet sat for smaller breeds like Boston terriers and cavalier king Charles spaniels. My time as a naturalist gave me experience working with not only varied species, but varied personalities. From grumpy skunks to mischievous snakes and dramatic birds, I have extensive experience across the gambit. It also provided experience with very specific care instructions and detailed documentation. I like to provide pet parents with a thorough summary of my time with their pet so they don't have to worry while they're away. My schedule varies week to week from periods of no availability to periods of open availability, I will make sure to keep things updated so you know what to expect! In fall of 2025, I finished my 2,200+ mile thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. What does that mean for pet care? I LOVE to walk and do so whenever I get the chance! I would love to have your pet join me! I am very detail oriented and will follow your care instructions to a T! I also provide my pet parents a detailed summary of my visit for peace of mind, every time!
About: I have experience working with a wide range of different breed and sizes of dogs. I worked at a doggie daycare and it was an absolute joy. I have taken care of dogs since I was young. Been surrounded by pets my whole life! From dogs, cats, snakes, fish, hamsters, rabbits ect. People trusted me from a young age with their pets because they naturally floated towards me. From small dogs to big ones. I have taken care of family dogs and friends of family pets. I always volunteered to do anything that involved animals. Not only do I currently handle dogs as my job but I also do baths! I took care of horses and other farm animals down in SC when I would visit family. My family are know to have ranches so animals have been a keen part of my life I'm taking a break from my part-time at a doggy daycare so I got plenty of hours for you dogs needs! I'm available all week for majority of day. I'm able to follow regular routines if informed by my clients in order to minimize confusion and be more comforting for the pets. When it comes to my client's medications for their dogs, I am punctual with how it's administered to their dog. If given permission, I'd bring treats and have them do fun little tricks to build trust between the pets so I'm not just a stranger
“Mika is great! They are incredibly caring and good with my dog. They have helped tremendously with his loose leash walking while making sure he gets lots of energy out. My dog loves them!”

“Melissa was great - she came on short notice and took our two dogs out for a nice long walk. One of our dogs is very reactive and in behavioral training and Melissa was very patient with the instructions and got them home safe and tuckered out even after a wild turkey encounter. 5 stars!”

About: I have had experience caring for many different kinds of animals throughout my life, such as dogs, horses, guinea pigs, and fish. My schedule is a little different each weekday, sometimes with breaks in the middle of the day. I am available all day on the weekends. I do not currently care for any pets in my home. I am not currently accepting jobs that require a pet to stay in my home.
“Ana takes Bella, my 1yo Golden Retriever, on 2 walks a week so Bella can stretch her legs when I’m on too many work conference calls. Ana is prompt, Bella loves her and Ana gives me a detailed report and pictures through the app each time. I highly recommend Ana and am so glad to have her walking Bella.”

I’ve booked Max a few times to walk my sweet dog blue while I have long days at work. He is SO happy to see him each time. Brings me such peace of mind knowing my boy blue is taken care of, loved and gets to go potty and throw ball while I’m working long days. We will continue to choose Max anytime I need mid day support. Bonus pictures of blue throughout his walk are so sweet. Thank you, max!!! 🫶🏼

Yesterday was the first time walking our dog. Jessica communicated when she would arrive, when walking our dog, where they walked and shared photos of our dog taking a walk. I was out of town and felt very confident that Jessica was taking good care of our dog. We will have Jessica take care of Louie, our dog, again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
