“Keith was fantastic with our 14-year old Sophie! He was incredibly easy to work with. It is scary to let someone into your house and take care of your dogs, but as soon as I met Keith and his wife, I was immediately comforted. I cannot say enough good things about him and how much he cared for Sophie. Part of me doesn’t want to say so many good things because he’ll get too busy (ha!)”
“Ed was diligent, punctual, and reliable. He was extremely patient with our senior cat, whose care can be challenging, and used creative problem solving to manage her quirks. His communications were detailed, entertaining, and filled with humor. He clearly enjoyed providing care to our two cats and we would have him back in a heartbeat.”

About: I work from home full time and have the capability and desire to have a cuddly fur baby around, snuggles, walks and lots of love a must. I like watching 1 dog at a time but if they are from the same family, please feel free to reach out if there are 2. I am able to be flexible. Since I work from home full time I am available to watch your fur baby during the day, night, boarding and on weekends if needed I would take them on walks when I could during the day, snuggles, some play time and rest when needed. Plenty of food and water, no fenced in back yard.
“Ann is such a sweet cat sitter. She took really fun photos of my Siamese Flame Point kitten during each visit. She spent lots of time playing and providing enrichment for “Lily”! I felt at ease while out of town on travel knowing “Lily” was in great hands. 🐾🐾❤️”

About: Experienced with pups of all ages from house training puppies to senior dogs. A watchful eye keeps your fur baby safe & sound in my home. I am an active retiree who loves to take walks with my dog, usually twice a day. Dogs in my care are treated as members of my family! I live in a quiet, friendly neighborhood with access to a large nearby park. My friendly Scottie will provide companionship & help calm initial jitters, if any. Food & treats are provided per owner's instructions. Water is always available. Pet updates provided per your request. Regular exercise and rest periods are provided daily. Comfy, quiet sleeping quarters at night. Ideal care for your pet!
“Heidi did such a wonderful job with our cats and our dog, that I’m 99% sure the puppy was disappointed when I came home. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again (and look forward to doing so soon!)”

“Haley did an EXCELLENT job with our kitties!!! She went above and beyond, even when they chose to be incredibly mischievous while we were gone. She truly seems to love the pets she's watching! Would absolutely recommend Haley, and hope to hire her again in the future!”

“Stephanie was so wonderful with our two kitties! She gave them the attention they each wanted (one likes more than the other), made them their special wet food & spoiled them with treats while we were away. She is so kind & patient…don’t hesitate to book her for your fur babies!”

About: I became a dog lover when I was 6 and my family got our first bulldog Rufus (best dog breed in my opinion). I’ve taken care of my own dog and friends and family members’ dogs that have come in all different breeds and sizes. I have availability all throughout the week and can accommodate whatever time works best for you. I just graduated college, so I’m doing dog care while I look for a job. I will listen to your pet’s body language to make them as comfortable as possible when meeting them and assure that they are safe and secure before leaving.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 10 years. I am very well trusted by friends, family and neighbors. I enjoy spending time with dogs in any capacity! I work full time and usually go into the office 2-3 times a week. I work 15 minutes away from my house and can be flexible with being home at certain times during the day. I try to stick to a similar schedule during the week. I have a fenced in yard and enjoy a clean living space. I do allow dogs on my furniture, but can accommodate to similar environments and rules in their own home as needed.

About: My husband and I have grown up with dogs and you will receive tons of pictures throughout the day! We have flexible jobs where we can work from home so your dog will always have someone to hang out with. Our house has a very large fenced in backyard where the critters can run around and chase all the rabbits and squirrels out. Your pup will have full access to the entire house including all of the furniture and beds. Please let us know if you would like to set up a meet and greet to ensure that all our furry critters get along. We basically schedule our days around dogs and their daily needs. Just let us know what their routine is and we will stick with what they’re used to. My husband and I both work hybrid/remote and someone will always be home with the dogs to hang out with them, let them out, etc.
“Eva K. was very accommodating and I'm so grateful that they were able to help me out! My guy is a social eater so having Eva there ensured that he would at least eat something while I was gone.”

About: With over 20 years of experience caring for animals, dogs have truly been a lifelong passion of mine. I also have professional experience as a certified dog trainer with Petco, giving me a strong background in canine behavior, body language, socialization, basic obedience and enrichment. I have cared for dogs of all sizes, ages, energy levels and personalities, including puppies, seniors, shy or anxious dogs, high-energy dogs and dogs who simply need a little extra patience. After years of providing full-time dog care, I am now intentionally focusing on a smaller number of boarding guests at a time. This allows me to provide more individualized attention and create a comfortable home-away-from-home experience rather than a busy daycare environment. I also offer dog walking and care in your home for pets who are happiest in their own environment. I understand that every dog has different needs, and I tailor my care to the individual dog rather than expecting every dog to fit into the same routine. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, bathroom habits and overall comfort, and communication with pet parents is extremely important to me. Your pet isn't just another booking. I want to get to know who they are. 💜 Pet care has been a major part of my daily life for years, so my schedule is built around the animals in my care. For boarding, I intentionally accept a limited number of dogs so I can provide plenty of individual attention, potty breaks, outdoor time, enrichment, play, rest and affection throughout their stay. I do my best to maintain each dog's normal feeding and sleeping routine so their stay feels as familiar and comfortable as possible. I also offer walks and in-home visits throughout the week. These are customized around your pet's routine and can include walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, enrichment and companionship. Whether your dog is staying with me or I'm coming to them, my goal is quality time and individualized care rather than simply checking a box on a schedule. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I take time to learn each pet's personality, routine, boundaries, medical needs and comfort level before deciding what their care should look like. Dogs boarding in my home have a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time and plenty of space to play, explore or simply relax. Because I now keep my boarding numbers intentionally small, I can closely supervise interactions and give dogs space and downtime when they need it. I never assume that every dog wants to socialize or play the same way. Introductions, activities and interactions are based on the individual dog's temperament and comfort. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect both your home and your pet's established routine. I carefully follow instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, doors, gates, crates and household safety.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
