“Patricia is a wonderful dog sitter. Molly went for walks and enjoyed being with her. Patricia brought a dog toy for her to play with and Molly had fun with that too. Thank you so much, Patricia!”

“Keith did an amazing job taking care of our two cats. He ensured their needs were met, and took the time play with them and give them treats. Additionally his communication was always timely.”

“Carrie was great with our two pups — even our timid sheltie. She kept them healthy, active and safe through daily walks while we were on vacation. We will definitely rebook!”

“Ann was great and took excellent care of my older dog! She made sure he was fed and got out to the bathroom exactly as promised. Really made a big difference for my peace of mind. :)”

“Kaitly went above and beyond during each visit, always prioritizing giving my cat, Zelda, who finds it difficult to befriend new people, plenty of well-received companionship and playtime while I was away. After each visit Kaitlyn sent a thoughtful recap of how the visit went and how Zelda was doing. Thanks Kaitlyn!”

“Bella was so helpful for a last minute emergency after we had a day of cancellation!! Great communication and so helpful. Followed directions well and will definitely book with her again in the future!”

About: Growing up in Minnesota, I’ve had dogs my entire life and have also had a cat for most of my life, so caring for animals has always been a big part of who I am. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have house sat for several families and looked after their pets while they were away, providing dependable and loving care. I understand that every pet has their own unique personality, routine, and needs, and I strive to make them feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. My experience babysitting, working at a daycare, and coaching children has also made me responsible, patient, and attentive, qualities I bring to every pet I care for. My goal is to treat every pet like my own, giving owners peace of mind that their furry family members are in good hands. I recently graduated from college and am home in Minnesota for the summer, which gives me full-time availability and plenty of flexibility to care for your pets. My schedule is very open, allowing me to accommodate walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and overnight stays throughout the week and on weekends. I’m committed to providing dependable, attentive care and can easily adapt to your pet’s routine and needs. In my home, pets will be welcomed into a safe, loving environment in a friendly neighborhood with a nearby park and plenty of walking trails for exercise and enrichment. I understand that every pet has their own routine and comfort level, and I strive to make them feel as comfortable and at home as possible. When caring for pets in their own homes, I treat both the animals and the home with the utmost respect. I will follow all care instructions closely, maintain your pet’s regular routine, and provide plenty of attention, playtime, and affection to ensure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Melissa is exceptionally caring and had a wonderful approach with our Great Dane, Kota. She left the perfect level of details after each of her visits and was thoughtful about our dogs knee (recovering from surgery) while still giving her plenty of time to play. Our dog was clearly comfortable and happy to see Melissa each visit- which is saying a lot for an anxious pup! Could not recommend Melissa more highly!!”

About: My husband and I have grown up with dogs and you will receive tons of pictures throughout the day! We have flexible jobs where we can work from home so your dog will always have someone to hang out with. Our house has a very large fenced in backyard where the critters can run around and chase all the rabbits and squirrels out. Your pup will have full access to the entire house including all of the furniture and beds. Please let me know if you would like to set up a meet and greet to ensure that all our furry critters get along. We basically schedule our days around dogs and their daily needs. Just let us know what their routine is and we will stick with what they’re used to. My husband and I both work hybrid/remote and someone will always be home with the dogs to hang out with them, let them out, etc.
About: I absolutely love dogs, they are God's most loyal, friendly and trustworthy creation. I've had a dog for several years and that helped me discover my love for them! I currently work from home so I assure you that I can take care of your furry friend! I am very flexible and can be available on weekends if given a couple day advance notice. I have a finished basement so your pup can have a great play time in winter. No fenced yard but a decent spaced backyard. I will also take them on regular walks so they can stay healthy, lot of play and cuddling time so they feel loved and of course some music, TV and downtime and their good behavior will be rewarded with hugs and treats :)

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats ever since I was a toddler, I grew up working in my grandmothers vet clinic and spent a ton of time with hundreds of cats and dogs throughout the years. Also owning 3 dogs of my own and taking care of many, Myself and others around have always said I have a special way with dogs (and cats!). I currently live with a senior lab and a 1.5 yr old lab, the best of both worlds! I’m looking forward to taking care of your fur baby however that may be! My schedule is broadly available given my summer course-load is entirely online! I prefer only weekdays, but might be available for some weekends throughout the summer. I live near a beautiful dog park where I regularly take my two dogs for some off leash time. There is also a walking trail around my neighborhood that I would take dogs to! I am very doting and loving to each dog or cat that I meet, and understand that the pet controls the touching boundaries of our interactions. I’ve always treated every animal like my own fur babies.
“We appreciate everything Rachel did to make sure Wally was ok and showed her concern for the situation. I knew she'd do everything to make sure Wally was going to be fine. The updates were exactly what I needed. Communication was excellent”

“Camila is amazing! I have a geriatric pug and hard headed bulldog and she always takes such good care of them, even with all their health needs and quirks. Great communication and the pups love having her!”
“We had a great experience with her! She was wonderful with our puppy, who is definitely in her land shark phase right now, and handled all the puppy chaos so well. She was communicative, reliable, and it was clear she genuinely cared about our dogs. I especially appreciated that she noticed one of our dogs was nervous because of the fireworks and spent time comforting her. It was really thoughtful and meant a lot to know she was paying such close attention. We’d absolutely book with her again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.”

About: I've lived with dogs my whole life and am a dog owner at my core! I so love caring for pets, providing for them and being their biggest advocate. When our pets are happy, we're happy :) I work from home in Prior Lake as a Graphic Designer and have a lot of flexibility with my job. I'm dog mom to our Great Pyrenees and I know a lot about senior care, medication administration, general communication and body language knowledge, walking and leash training. We're open to boarding well-socialized pups in our home, but they must be respectful of our older resident dog. They can enjoy the large, shaded back yard together on secure leads as we have an unfenced yard. We also have chickens (who are securely fenced in their own area!) I'm available mornings, evenings, overnights and weekends! I work from home full time in Prior Lake and have day time flexibility. I'd love to bring your dog along with me for walks! I care for your pets just as I would my own! I'm attentive, intuitive and thoughtful when it comes to taking care of your animals and home. I'm very respectful and trustworthy of others spaces. I will leave everything exactly as I find it.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Prior Lake
Can’t say enough about the incredible care my dog received from Kevin and his wife. They were gentle and patient with my dog as he got familiar with them. Provided excellent care with feeding, walking, and administering daily medications. Will be reaching out again next time we need care. Thank you!

Christine’s passion for pets is perfectly demonstrated through the care she provides your pet(s). She’s very thorough & detailed oriented which makes the experience worry free. Also, she was willing to go above & beyond just pet care. We will definitively use her again if possible!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
