“Jourdan is so great with our pup Rose! Rose has tons of playtime, walks, pets, etc. We get some great photos too (ones that we save). She follows our requests for the sensitive tummy our pup has. Highly recommended :)”

“Lexi really enjoyed being there and I have nothing but good things to say about these two. I appreciate them coming through for me and keeping lexi happy in my absence!”

“Ashley and her family are the best! My baby is always so calm when I drop her off. That’s how I know she trusts Ashley as much as her mom and dad. We don’t like to use anyone else!”

“Alice and her family took such great care of my dog that she didn't want to leave! They sent lots of photos and communication was excellent. Nellie can't wait to visit again!”

“Friendly, reliable, and communicative. They followed medication and feeding instructions, sent updates, and walked my pups. I felt confident in their care of my two dogs while I was out of the country.”

“Donna was great with our two young girls. She is detailed oriented and made sure we had clear instructions on feeding, care, etc. She gave us daily updates and photos without prompting, and always responded promptly with all communications. It was obvious the girls felt comfortable with her and had a positive experience. Donna is someone we trust leaving our girls with and will continue to trust our girls with in the future.”

“Patches was great! She took excellent care of our 17 year old buddy and was great at communicating throughout his stay. They sent lots of pictures and eased our mind throughout his stay. He can be a handful and patches made us feel like he was in great hands. Thank you!”

About: I truly treat every pet like they’re my own and focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m very attentive to routines, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and giving pets the patience and affection they need to feel relaxed. I currently work a part-time retail job, but I still have a extremely flexible schedule and can be available when needed. Day, night, morning, I am available. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I follow feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, medications, playtime, and any special instructions carefully so pets feel secure and stress-free while their owner is away. I also make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and exercise, and I keep owners updated with messages and photos
“Angie took great care of our Goldendoodle. She was great at communicating and sending us pictures. Our dog felt right at home. Happy to have found someone who can take such good care of our dog!”

“Loved seeing my pups make themselves right at home during their stay. Also appreciated the flexibility around my last minute trip, and patience with my senior and quirky pugs. It was such a relief knowing they were in good hands while I was gone. Bonus, it's always a good sign when they take a long nap when we get back home.”

“Cashew had a great time! I could tell from the many pic updates that he was well loved and cared for. Gol was extra accomodating when I ran into car trouble and I couldnt pick up my dog until hours after the original drop off time. Will definitely use again!”

“Jade is so sweet! She had our 4 month old puppy for 4 nights and was very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. My dog loved playing with her dog Hiccup and they did lots of fun activities together. Will be booking again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Marcos
Kate was absolutely amazing!! Such a pleasure working with her! She took such great care of my 6 yr old, Olde English Bulldogge , Stussy, while I was in Galveston for the week. From the very beginning, she was easy to communicate with and I felt completely comfortable leaving Stussy in her care. She sent frequent updates, photos, videos, and messages, and you could genuinely see how happy and well cared for Stussy was! He was glowing in every picture/video!! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was not only safe, but truly enjoying his time. Kate went above and beyond, and it’s clear she has the biggest heart and really cares about the animals she looks after! I’m so grateful to have found someone so reliable, kind, and sweet nearby! I’ll 100% be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!!

Absolutely amazing. This was our first time using a sitter for our older dog, and Clarice took all of our anxiety away. They were very understanding and flexible to accommodate unforeseen changes, and provided us with reassuring photos. Rest easy knowing your dog will be in good hands.

Katelynne did an amazing job taking care of my Remi! I had to leave out of town for a few days, and she kept me updated the whole time and sent lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

I’m so thankful for Mica she was able to step in last minute to watch my two dogs. She was incredibly kind, responsible, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches, and I highly recommend her to anyone needing a reliable and loving dog sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
