“Lexi really enjoyed being there and I have nothing but good things to say about these two. I appreciate them coming through for me and keeping lexi happy in my absence!”

About: I have been a dog foster for eight years in the Dallas area with Take Me Home Pet Rescue. I fostered at least a dozen dogs, but seven in particular needed special attention to make them ready to be great pets. I spent time on socialization, behavior, obedience and at least four of them got their basic Canine Good Citizen certification. Fostering gave me the opportunity to learn about various breeds, behaviors and work with dog behaviorists, dog day cares and behavior vets. I have owned four rescue dogs and taken them through the Canine Good Citizen program.:two of them through the third level. My tripawd dog, Rango, has done Rally at the novice level. And Lumi, my most recent rescue from PAWS, is also CGC Certified and ready to do some therapy work once she gets over her car-sickness. I have learned so much from my fostering experiences and working with various dogs. All the training is very positive and relationship-based. I am not trainer, but happy to work with your trainer. After moving to Dripping Springs, I have kept some friends and neighbors dogs and now adding some dog sitting into my substitute teaching schedule. Your dog will stay with Lumi (three year old Lab mix) and Rango (an eleven year old border collie and Aussie mix). We have a nice fenced, shaded and good sized back yard with birds and squirrels. We walk in our park and native woods behind our house almost every morning after breakfast. Our one-story home has mostly all linoleum plank vinyl flooring. I feed the dogs apart twice a day and there is no food aggression. They take treats together and they have become bonded. Our neighborhood is quiet and a nice mix of all ages with homes and quarter acre yards. I am an artist who works from home and I substitute teach art and early elementary at our ISD. My schedule will show booked substituting and dog sitting. I will stay home on days I know I'm keeping your dog. Your dog will get a walk, play with my pups and get some TLC. Because I teach, I also have security and background clearance with the school district. Your dog should be good with other dogs, house trained, spayed/neutered and a natural initial level of separation anxiety that will wane. Because of my fostering experience with dog transitions, I ask first-time pups and parents to come see us, our house and yard to make sure it's a good match for everyone. When a dog comes and goes with their owners, they are far more secure coming a second time and being left. I want a successful visit for everyone and look forward to repeat visits. I will treat your dog with care, love and safety. I look forward to meeting you and your pup. I substitute teach and on days I'm not teaching or know I'm boarding, I'll stay home. I may run a quick errand, especially if you have a multi-day stay, but I will be home maybe doing my art, maybe working in the back yard with the dogs in the back roaming around while I work. I have a fenced back yard that is shady and secure. I can crate your dog as needed. I have two dogs who are friendly and playful, but submissive and give their guests space. I will feed all dogs in separate areas. If I go run a quick errand, I will make sure the dogs go outside and I'll check in with you beforehand about crating or separating. I will walk each dog separately once during the day, usually in the morning. If your dog has a bed, feel free to bring it and if well potty trained, it can bunk in the bedroom with us so it is part of the pack. Some dogs want to sleep in the bed and really depends on how the dogs get along, especially the first night or two as it does take natural adjustment time.
“Our dog, Shiner, had the best Christmas Ever with Judy and his new friends. I wasn’t quite sure he was going to want to come home. A big thank you for taking such good care of him. There is nothing better than being able to leave town and know that your dog is in the best care.”

“I always feel so comfortable leaving my dog with Marissa. I have a senior pup, and she is great about giving medication, texting me with updates, and providing the extra attention and care he needs.”
“Denise was awesome! She sent updates and photos throughout Bentley’s stay which made me comfortable and reassured. Bentley seemed to enjoy her large backyard to play in.”

“We cannot thank Nancy and Ralph enough for the amazing loving care they gave our two little fur babies while we were on the first trip we’ve had in a year! It brought such comfort knowing they were in such wonderful experienced hands. Nancy and Ralph handled everything detail with the dogs, including medication for one of them. The photos they sent us showed how much fun they were all having indoors and outdoors! We appreciate their valuable service to pet parents and are thrilled we can do this again! Yay”

“Alice and her family took such good care of my boys! She sent pictures everyday and they seemed really happy and taken care of. Will definitely hire her again if the need arises. Thanks Alice!”

“We really appreciate Emma and her husband taking care of Cloud! He had a lot of fun playing with Mishcha. Their place is clean and nice. So glad to see him relaxing in Emma’s living room and walking in backyard. Cloud has some temporary condition needing oral medicine, and Emma helped with that. They even carried Cloud’s bags back to my car when I was picking Cloud up. Thank you!”

“Danielle and Jake took great care of my very senior little dog. Great communication, thoughtful accommodations for her needs, sweet situation for a dog (yard, work from home), and they made me feel completely at ease leaving her in their care. Highly recommend.”

“My dog had tons of fun with Emma! They went on walks everyday, sometimes multiple times a day and Emma sends as many pictures and updates as you want! Totally recommend Emma and will use her services again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dripping Springs
Emma and her family took wonderful care of our dog, Charlie! They treated Charlie like one of their own and gave her so much love and attention while we were away. We received lots of updates and photos. This gave us peace of mind that Charlie was happy, comfortable and well cared for. We came home to a happy healthy pup! We would absolutely trust Emma and her family with Charlie again!

Lacy was amazing with our two boys. We have an older Lab and a 6yr old Jack Russell. Her pups played with them like they were old friends. She sent plenty of pictures so I knew they were being treated well. I’d definitely use Lacy again. I can’t recommend her more than she is terrific! Her love for dogs is real and amazing’. Will use her again when we come to visit. Thank you Lacy

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
