“Lexi really enjoyed being there and I have nothing but good things to say about these two. I appreciate them coming through for me and keeping lexi happy in my absence!”

“Ashley and her family are the best! My baby is always so calm when I drop her off. That’s how I know she trusts Ashley as much as her mom and dad. We don’t like to use anyone else!”

“Patches was great! She took excellent care of our 17 year old buddy and was great at communicating throughout his stay. They sent lots of pictures and eased our mind throughout his stay. He can be a handful and patches made us feel like he was in great hands. Thank you!”

“We are so happy we found Angie to look after Ozzy. She went above and beyond to make him feel at home, treating him with the same care she’d give her own pet. Ozzy especially loved their games of fetch! It’s such a relief knowing he’s in good hands. We’ll definitely be booking with her again”

“Alison was very welcoming of my dog. Even after my dog was a bit of a bully to her sweet dog during the middle of my trip, Alison still had mine playing and having a wonderful time. She sent pictures and a video of the dogs playing while I was away. Great communication.”

“The Best Home Away from Home! Our dogs got a pampering vacation while we had one too! I honestly believe that our dogs left their home with their hearts and bellies full. We are hiring them again in a month an a half and for over 10 days. Communication was really easy and I had a lot of specific info around feeding and walks. They were very welcoming as I showed up with multiple dog beds and leashes and treat bags and refrigerated food, etc, etc. Our trip was international and we felt peace of mind the whole time away. Titan is such a mama's boy that he won't walk with anyone else and Tasha is so timid that she won't warm up to anyone. Soon the photos and videos of Tasha rolling onto her back for tummy caresses and both on walks with tails wagging and sleeping on their laps and beds. This family conquered their trust pretty quickly.”

“I couldn't be happier with the care & attention Aine gave to Kylie. My baby settled in in no time. Aine was so welcoming that both Kylie & I were made to feel very comfortable immediately. She was kind enough to keep me posted with photos & updates which made our separation much easier. I would highly recommend her as an excellent candidate to care for your pet.”

“Youna and Nick took great care of my senior dog while I was away for a weekend - they are extremely communicative and friendly and I am so grateful to have found them! Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a responsible Dogsitter!”

“Amber was very easy to communicate with, always answered within minutes. She sent pictures and updates, which were especially appreciated since our dog doesn't like fireworks, and she watched him over the 4th of July. She gave us great feedback on his behavior, and I would definitely ask her to watch our dog again.”

“AAA+..Highly recommend if you want your furry pal watched by someone truely caring, attenative and most importantly trustworthy. Sarah accommodated my boy Bleu and I's needs (last minute booking), sent me pics and updates throughout the trip and my pup came back happier than ever. Would definitely go with Sarah again!”

“I always feel so comfortable leaving my dog with Marissa. I have a senior pup, and she is great about giving medication, texting me with updates, and providing the extra attention and care he needs.”
“Ashley and her family took such amazing care of Momo. She took cute pictures and sent me updates throughout the day which made me feel at peace. I could tell Momo had a great time at Ashley’s. He went for walks as well. I wholeheartedly recommend her and will reach out to take care of Momo again!”

“Maura and Shawn asked lots of great questions at our meet and greet and took their time to get to know my pup. I felt super confident leaving her with them. While I was away they sent plenty of updates and cute pictures. I could tell they loved my dog as much as I do and cared for her like their own.”

“Laura is AMAZING! Her house is beautiful and she really loves the dogs. I was getting constant updates and video. They had a blast in her backyard. She even got a toy for my dogs as a special treat they could keep. I would trust her with any dog and will definitely book again!”
“We were so thankful to have found Tabitha. It was so nice to receive her pictures, and we felt secure in knowing that our Baby was with a family that was playing with her and holding her while we were gone.”

“Jon was great way beyond my expectation. Easy to communicate with. I knew when my dogs were in great hands when I dropped them off. The best part of dropping them off was Roxy (Jon’s dog). Probably the coolest dog I’ve ever met.”

“Brett was so incredibly wonderful! Murphy stayed with Brett and his family for 3.5 weeks and had a great time. Brett updated us regularly with pictures and regularly gave Murphy his medicine. Our mind was truly at ease knowing Murphy was in such good hands. We definitely will be rebooking with Brett in the future. 10/10 would recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain City
Michelle was wonderful with Sprout! This was his first stay away from home, so I was definitely a little anxious, but she made the whole experience so much easier. She sent us picture updates throughout his stay, and it was so reassuring to see him happy, comfortable, and having such a great time playing with her pups. She was also incredibly accommodating and attentive to all of our requests for his care and routine, which I really appreciated. Sprout clearly had a great time, and we felt like he was in very good hands with her. We would absolutely book with Michelle again!

Alma is simply amazing! She took care of our dog, Yogi, for about a month and a half, and throughout that time she treated him like part of her own family. She kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Every picture showed how happy, comfortable, and relaxed Yogi was. We are beyond thankful for everything she did and couldn't recommend her more highly. If you're looking for someone who will genuinely love and care for your furry family member, Alma is the one. Thank you, Alma, for taking such wonderful care of Yogi—we would love to have you watch him again in the future!

It went GREAT with Joshua and his dog Penny! I received lots of check-in pictures and videos from Joshua showing Baby Bear and Penny's playtime. There was even a picture of Baby having a nap with Joshua and Penny! She had a wonderful visit with them. Joshua provided awesome service, and I wouldn't hesitate to leave my Baby with him again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
